Phenomenal, carefully prepared dishes, a smart-casual atmosphere suitable for both a business lunch and a romantic dinner, and a friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and extremely kind owner. The only downside is that since there's only her and her husband in the kitchen, don't expect fast service: La Scuea is for enjoying a meal, not for a quick sandwich, remember that! In any case, a highly recommended place! Oh, and ps: the place is small, so it's best to book in advance!

14/12/2025: The opening hours are wrong. It says it closes at 11 pm, but we came here specifically for dinner at 8:30 pm and it was closed.

26/11/2025: If you're reading this review, it's because you want to get off the beaten path—but not too far—from Venice's hyper-touristy circuit, and you'll be glad you did if you cross over to Giudecca Island. There you'll find a less crowded, less commercialized Venice, though don't expect a revelation. If you do go there, pop into Osteria da Moro, say hello at the bar in any language other than English (Italian is best, remember you're in Italy), and order a coffee or a macchiato. They'll gladly serve you, and you can enjoy it standing up and continue your walk, or go sit at one of the tables overlooking the lagoon. With that view of Venice, you'll be very happy. As I said, the coffee is good, the view unbeatable, and the service and prices more than fair. It all depends on your attitude. Autumn Boreal 2025

27/12/2025: Lido is right in front of the pier, so you can order a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and use the restroom. Even if there are two people, you can only order one cup.

29/12/2025: The pistachio croissant and cafe latte were delicious. But why did they serve the warm cafe latte in a glass without a handle? It was so hot that it was hard to hold and drink, so I asked for a change, but the employee said it wasn't hot and held it in her hand (no, I said it was hot...ㅠㅠ), and said that this drink is not supposed to be served here, so they couldn't change it. I said okay and just went back to my seat, and they brought me a paper cup a little later, but I don't understand the store's policy. I saw a review and everyone who ordered a latte got theirs in a mug... Was I the only one who got it this way? The food was delicious.

10/09/2025: We highly recommend everything. Breakfast was excellent. The staff found and returned our luggage. It was a pleasure to search for it, rather than having to forget about anyone's help once you're gone. I recommend it for families. It's close to the beach and other attractions, and the connection is good.

16/02/2026: An hour's wait for four pizzas, seated at a table in the midst of the constant comings and goings of the staff, between the refrigerator and the stockroom. The pizza was practically inedible: no toppings, sour tomato sauce, and terrible dough. The icing on the cake? I even threw up when I got home. When I complained, the staff was completely indifferent, almost annoyed. Their response? "We eat it all the time and we like it." Kudos to you for your professionalism: if you like it, then there's no problem, right? Terrible experience in every way. Never again. I AM EDIT MY REVIEW TO RESPOND: We didn't post false reviews or use fictitious names. We're simply a table of four who had the same negative experience, and everyone has the right to review. The public accusations and threats of legal action are unprofessional and inappropriate. We're sorry, because the place could have potential, but the way we handle criticism and the service seems to be the real problem.

08/03/2026: Not recommended for dog owners. Although dogs are allowed inside, you are not allowed to give your dog water during your visit—a restriction that feels odd and unwelcoming. Furthermore, the owner was rude and unpleasant, making the experience even more unpleasant. If dogs are truly not welcome, it would be much more honest to adopt a clear policy prohibiting them. The food has also deteriorated significantly since the change in management—both in terms of quality and portions—compared to what it was in the past. In conclusion, I do not recommend this place. ——————- Not recommended for dog owners. While dogs are permitted inside, you are not allowed to give water to your own dog while dining there—which feels like an odd and uncomfortable restriction. On top of that, the owner was quite rude and unpleasant, making the experience even more unwelcoming. If dogs aren't genuinely welcome, a straightforward no-pets policy would be far more honest. The food has also noticeably declined since the change in ownership — both in quality and portion size — compared to what it used to be. Overall, I do not recommend this place.

22/02/2026: I've been to this restaurant several times, and I have to say the quality is good—in fact, yesterday I had an exceptional risotto. The only dish not worth eating is the raw antipasto: the quality and quantity don't match the price. What a shame!

15/02/2026: Historic pastry shop. The staff is incredibly kind and friendly, especially the lady who's always there in the afternoon. I live for their pizzas. Among the best I've ever eaten. The pastries are also exceptional. The tarts are sublime 😋

07/03/2026: The ingredients are of the highest quality, with incredibly fresh and flavorful fish, and there's a clear passion for their craft. The welcome is warm and the service is impeccable. The food arrives in a reasonable amount of time, a sign of home-cooked, express cuisine. We had two first courses and a mixed grill, which captured the aromas of the Adriatic. Everything was excellent! The prices are more than fair, and the location is lovely. Well done! We thank you again and reiterate our appreciation, recommending this lovely restaurant to other travelers.
