09/10/2025: On Saturday, October 4, 2025, I went to the "Al Theatro" pastry shop to buy two desserts.
A focaccia I'd called about and the pastry chef had told me he'd put it away, and a cake for my birthday.
The clerk didn't know there was a focaccia reserved for me, but luckily there were others on display. (The price was printed on the package.)
For the cake, however, the display was completely devoid of prices. The lady then asked her colleagues if the price was €34.00 or €40.00 per kg (how could she not know?).
She told me the price was €29.20, and immediately after that €30.00 (rounded down). I pointed out that the price was €29.20, and when paying, she "counted" €29.50... how poor.
Displaying prices is mandatory, and the clerk was truly rude.
Too bad...because for me the quality of the pastry is very good.

06/09/2025: Very negative experience, poor menu, incompetent waiters (they charged me €7 for a cappuccino)
09/08/2025: A €12 breakfast (two cold cappuccinos and two croissants) to be called "raggedy." The waitress rudely reprimanded us for charging our phone next to the fire extinguisher, citing vague "Italian safety regulations," and then closing the French window of the living room where we were eating—as if she wanted to prevent us from leaving?! Referring to "all these raggedy people in Venice these days," she looked at us sideways. Immediately afterward, she began talking about us loudly to other customers in the next room, evidently thinking we didn't understand the language. Too bad we're Italian and we heard and understood everything. Did my colorful scarf or my tired look after the trip make us "suspicious"? We might as well have been denied entry; we would have saved ourselves the cold cappuccinos they served us. A humiliating and offensive experience. Avoid this place if you're looking for kindness, respect, or even just a hot cappuccino.

23/06/2025: Estábamos deseando este restaurante como se había recomendado. La comida estaba bien, el ambiente, no tan bueno y luego llegó la factura. El propietario masculino trató de aconsejar que el servicio no estaba incluido, pero era descaradamente (servico 12 %). En general, se sentía como si estuviera visitando al publicista en Los Miserables!
Si te gustan los musicales, visita. De lo contrario, evita.

Abbiamo cenato con tre fritti pesantissimi che ci hanno disturbato tutta la notte. Una ribolla di scarsa qualità e infine dolcetti secchi senza né infamia né lode. Ci aveva consigliato questo locale un amico ma forse era un po' che non lo frequentava.un conto esagerato

05/06/2025: Terrible ice cream shop, exaggerated prices for mini portions. Be careful with your portion, they charge you €0.20 for the lid of the cup to take away. NEVER HAPPENED!!!! I RECOMMEND GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE.

We went into the bar for a break and ordered an espresso, but my companion said he lost his smartphone. 💦
(We were still early in our trip, so losing our phone at this point would be no laughing matter.)
I frantically called, and someone answered!
But it was in Italian, so I couldn't understand a thing. 💦
But then, someone from the bar overheard us
(who happened to have it on speaker)
ran out of the bar and somehow managed to get it back!
Thanks to that, nothing serious happened, and I was so grateful!
We only ordered an espresso, so I don't know the food, but they were very kind.
20/09/2025: Positive: The order was taken quickly, and the drinks were also brought promptly. The food is very overpriced and of poor quality (probably microwaved). The gnocchi were a child's portion. It wouldn't fill an adult!

Ordered Carbonara and Arriabata , was delicious.
Centrally located and a quaint garden patio.
The owner checked on us to see if we were happy.

Not sure why so many bad reviews, maybe we were lucky but it was a nice experience for us next to the water.
They have gluten free options which is great.
I do not put 5 stars because of the mandatory 12.5% in the ticket which felt odd.
16/08/2025: Very unprofessional staff — after 15 minutes they brought us the bill without us even asking for it, and they kept looking at us as if they wanted us to leave, just because we only sat down for a drink and not for lunch.

05/10/2025: I treated myself to some ice cream here – the portion was really generous, which was a pleasant surprise. The service was warm and friendly, and I felt welcome. Unfortunately, the ice cream tasted rather average – I wasn't particularly impressed. What I found disappointing was that they only accepted cash payments.
