01/01/2026: My nine friends and I found this place completely by chance via Google Maps, and we were pleasantly surprised. The view of the valley while eating was stunning, and the traditional food was very good. The gluten-free options offered to our celiac companions were much appreciated, as they're very rare to find in these parts!

05/11/2025: The bacon dumplings were unfortunately very dense. The salad was presented rather carelessly, the bread slices should have been crispier, some of the tomato pieces were enormous, the apricot dumpling was good, but the vanilla sauce was very runny and lacked any thickening. The plate could have been presented more attractively. They should consider whether the butter and cinnamon crumbs were sufficient. Perhaps a dollop of cream would be more visually appealing and better in terms of taste. The service was very attentive, almost a bit too much so. The ambiance was very nice.

07/01/2026: A truly beautiful mountain hut – both in summer and winter. We were there two weeks ago right at rush hour, but were still immediately noticed. We were kindly asked to wait a moment while they checked if there was a free table. Within a minute, we had a table inside. The food was delicious, and the prices were absolutely fantastic. The incredibly friendly staff deserves special mention. A hut with lots of charm and character, where you immediately feel at home. Thank you :)) We'll be back!

07/01/2026: After a hike of about an hour and a half, with temperatures of -12 degrees Celsius, it feels like paradise. The place is small but welcoming, with extremely helpful and friendly staff. The dumplings and goulash are delicious and reasonably priced. An experience worth trying even in winter. I recommend crampons for the climb up to the refuge. The sled ride down is also very beautiful.

05/01/2026: We went to this restaurant both at the recommendation of the managers of the hotel where we were staying in San Vigilio, the Chalet Corso, and remembering the episode of Four Restaurants where poor Uli was unfairly undermined by the other contestants, despite having received the highest scores from the chef. The judgment was a real thrill for both me and my family. And the Maso is truly quaint and charming, the staff is excellent, and the dishes combine tradition with research into tasty and refined combinations.

04/01/2026: We had a wonderful stay at the historic Finailhof, which I previously only knew as a summer stopover. The apartment was spacious, very comfortably furnished, and offered a breathtaking view. The wood-burning stove was lit every day. We enjoyed the varied breakfast in the dining room – always fresh cheese and ham, boiled eggs, fruit, and muesli, everything was there. The dumplings and Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake) in the evening were also excellent. A huge thank you to the whole family for their warm hospitality – we felt very comfortable and welcome, especially with our little screamer. The tour of the stables was also a highlight for our daughter and me. We will definitely be back!

10/01/2026: Cristlá is a wonderful little restaurant with a truly family-run atmosphere. The wood-fired pizza is excellent and incredibly delicious. We ate there after our husky tour – the perfect end to a fantastic experience. Reservations are highly recommended, as the restaurant is very popular.

The option of dining later than average in the area is also greatly appreciated. The space is small but welcoming; if you're with a large group, it's best to reserve a table, especially for the restaurant area. The outdoor seating is lovely on nice days, away from the chaos but still just a stone's throw from the city center. The selection of beers and wines is also good, with fair prices and in line with the quality. In short: a simple yet refined, authentic place with a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere. Perfect for those who want to eat well, feel welcome, and discover a corner of Bolzano that has endured through time and in the soul. Highly recommended!

06/11/2025: A wonderfully rustic dining room with authentic food and great service. The food was absolutely fantastic. Spare ribs with coleslaw and a trio of dumplings: divine. Although the chestnut tiramisu didn't live up to its name and didn't really taste like the aforementioned nut, it still gets 5 out of 5 chestnuts!
