11/10/2025: I've been coming to Catania for work for five years, and Taverna del Grande Albero is a regular stop. First of all, I find quality and courtesy here, but above all, I feel like I'm at home. The owners have become like family to me. I GO TO FILIPPO'S, I say every time!!!! Always friendly, always hospitable, they never fail to chat with the customers, and I highly recommend it!! I've attached photos so you can fully understand my satisfaction. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of the spectacular seafood appetizer!

08/01/2026: We went twice during the Christmas holidays, but unfortunately, we couldn't try the food because it's closed during this time, as the owner explained. However, we gorged on all the hot food and even some desserts. Everything was truly delicious, including the arancini, which were out of this world.

30/12/2025: The hot food and desserts are absolutely amazing, truly compliments. I tried carbonara and amatriciana, but I totally don't recommend them and I think they should be removed from the menu altogether. The pandoro and panettone are fantastic.

04/11/2025: We were there yesterday. The owner was very friendly and the food was fantastic. It's a very family-oriented and child-friendly place, and we even managed a short conversation despite the language barrier. We would have loved to come back after speaking with the owner yesterday to see if they were open today. Unfortunately, he wasn't there, and the employee on site informed us that they were now closed (this was at 8:25 pm – the sign on the door says open until 11:00 pm). The employee also said they would be open again tomorrow – even though the sign says "Closed Wednesdays." All in all, very disappointing – so despite our extended stay in the city, we probably won't be coming back. It's a shame, because the food was very good.

08/01/2026: The grand New Year's Eve dinner was perfectly organized and curated. There were both meat and fish menus; I chose the fish one, while my fiancé chose the meat one, so I was able to try a little bit of the meat menu. What can I say? The food was delicious, and most importantly, made with fresh, quality ingredients. DJ Salvo kept us entertained with games during dinner and even during the dancing. The timing was perfect; we finished dinner by 11:30 PM. The staff was very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. They made sure we didn't miss anything at the tables; they provided exceptional service, even with two full rooms. Thank you all for the wonderful work you do; you're a great team!! 5 well-deserved stars 😊

05/01/2026: This restaurant was recommend to us by a local and it was perfect, Prices are very reasonable and competitive. Quality of the pizza itself is top notch, dough was crusty and very tasty, toppings were very well balanced. Pizzoli was also very tasty but isn’t my type of food, but we enjoyed it. Staff was super friendly and by far the best we have experienced on our trip in Sicily.

11/01/2026: After a pleasant hike to Monte Intraleo, we stumbled upon this restaurant almost by chance, trusting the positive reviews. The experience was truly excellent. We were a group of four friends at lunch on Saturday. Gaetano, the host, welcomed us warmly and gradually became more and more welcoming. The restaurant is charming and original, with every corner adorned with various elements that hark back to Sicilian tradition and evoke a vintage feel, creating a welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts everyone in a good mood. The chandelier dominating the room is spectacular, crafted from a wagon wheel and fitted with industrial-style lamps. Gaetano's pride and passion for his work shine through in his communication with customers and in the authentic flavors of his dishes. The menu is simple, without frills. He recommended and brought us an assorted antipasti platter with samples of fine cheeses, ricotta, cooked vegetables, and olives. Next, we ordered pennette with tomato sauce enriched with broad beans, peas, eggplant, and mushrooms. The dish proved to be perfectly balanced in flavor, exceptional because the quality of the ingredients transformed a simple dish into true comfort food. A triumph of garden flavors. Gaetano is certainly the restaurant's added value. At the end of the meal, he offered us traditional sweets, and we enjoyed a pleasant conversation over liqueurs and coffee. We said goodbye as if we were old friends. Highly recommended! Best wishes to Gaetano and see you soon.

10/01/2026: A chance discovery that left us more than satisfied. The owner, Gaetano, is a fantastic person: welcoming, kind, funny, and above all, an excellent cook. We ate and drank wonderfully, and the place was tastefully decorated and well-maintained. For me, beautiful places always reflect the soul of those who run them, and I must say that the beauty of this place depends very much on the person behind it. Well done, Gaetano, and thank you for welcoming us at the last minute.

03/01/2026: Today there was a bit of a wait for the pizzas, but on Saturday everything was normal, very very good pizzas, especially the 7-grain ones, or the normal ones... delicious desserts, and a fantastic atmosphere.... we were upstairs.... it was a pleasant evening, the only flaw was that I promised the parking attendant I would see us later, but he was no longer there.... next time I will give you a good coffee in person first... now I truly apologize
