04/10/2025: The gelateria made a very good impression! The ice cream was creamy, delicious, and offered in a nice selection of flavors that were truly impressive. The service was friendly and prompt, which made the visit pleasant. The location was inviting and clean, although it did get a bit crowded on a particularly busy day. Overall, a great place for ice cream lovers, with only minimal room for improvement to be perfect.

06/11/2025: We stayed for almost two weeks, and the service was very friendly and helpful. Parking is available on the premises, with a few additional spaces just outside. The grounds were well-maintained, but it was a shame there wasn't a circular path. The location right on a large lake sounds beautiful, but when full, it dries up and has a large rim lined with withered trees. Previously, you could drive around the lake, but now the road to the hotel is a dead end. Breakfast was really not good. Every day, the same two types of sausage and one type of sliced ​​cheese. The jams, as is so often the case in Italy, were simply sweet and tasteless. The boiled eggs were ice-cold, and the scrambled eggs were too runny. The "workout room" is a pavilion with two treadmills. Our room was at the lowest part of the complex, which was a bit of a challenge with large suitcases due to the steep slope. When it got dark, you had to use your phone's flashlight because parts of the path were very poorly lit. This was a bit dangerous, especially on the steps.

06/09/2025: Overall, this hotel is a lovely, peaceful place to unwind. The rooms consist of semi-detached "cottages" built into the hillside. Access is via a stepped path, making them immediately inaccessible for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. Breakfast is included, while lunch and dinner can be enjoyed à la carte or from a set menu, which is provided in writing at breakfast. A few caveats: one, as I mentioned earlier, is that the rooms (cottages) are generally quite noisy. Thirdly, the menu offered (via the breakfast menu) doesn't always meet expectations. For example, the salad is like antipasto, with chopped cabbage lacking in flavor. The same cabbage is used as a garnish/vegetable with a veal schnitzel. The price-quality/quantity ratio is not balanced, placing this hotel in the higher price range. We enjoyed our stay and would love to return, but perhaps for one or two nights.

20/01/2026: Pizza, perhaps the best in Cagliari. Truly well cooked and tasty. I was disappointed the next day with the first course, linguine carbonara, lukewarm, almost cold, and with cream. The veal tagliata, on the other hand, was well cooked, soft, and tasty.

23/01/2026: I felt quite welcomed here as a solo traveler. Was a little difficult to get seated on a weekend night with limited Italian and multiple entrances with what appeared to be multiple host stands, but it was well worth it. Phenomenal fish, great wine selection, and some complementary local Mirto to finish. Hope to come back one day and thank you for the excellent memory!

20/11/2025: Establishment has great food but terrible service and dined at this restaurant in summer 2024. At the end of the meal, I opted to pay by credit card, but card was rejected as the financial institution flagged the transaction as potential fraudulent activity. The tall thin Italian waiter threw the credit card back at me, slammed the credit card reader on the table and walked away, angry and annoyed. I then paid in cash and a smile reappeared on his face. Based on the lack of professionalism from the waiter, I do not recommend this establishment to potential diners.

16/02/2026: I had a truly wonderful time. The atmosphere is refined and pleasant, perfect for a relaxing moment. The service was very welcoming and attentive: the staff was kind, helpful, and always smiling. It was an absolutely positive experience that I recommend to anyone in the area looking for a pleasant experience. I'll definitely be back!

We chose the fixed menu, plus a bottle of wine (€60) and an extra raw appetizer (4 scampi and 4 shrimp), without the price being listed. It should be noted that on the menu, an appetizer with 2 oysters, 2 truffles, 2 red or purple shrimp, 2 scampi, tartare, and baby cuttlefish costs €58. The cod they served us was so salty we had to leave it alone, and the beetroot entree was the same. The service and ambiance were pleasant. Final bill: €360 for two. The additional appetizer cost €112, a completely outrageous amount. When we called to clarify, the price was confirmed (€200/kg), all with an unprofessional attitude and giggles over the phone. 08/02/2026: Unfortunately, there is no way to describe the fear we had that we would get sick after eating there, we started eating as we hadn't noticed yet certain details. But as soon as you taste the raw fish, salmon or tuna, i.e. sashimi, you notice that it's mooshy, like a paste, lost consistency and I suppose that is because it's not fresh or it has been outside for too long and not on ice... normally it sits on ice when served, let alone when there's a buffet and it sits even longer before it is taken by customers...and I must emphasize we started lunch at 12.30 so it was supposed to be early and freshly cut...same for sushi, very little variety and choice...nothing pleasant and insipid... regarding the rest of the dishes, like noodles etc...nothing special and the fried stuff tasted like burnt oil used for so long and extra used... And then there's the grill...you choose the raw produce and they grill it on the spot ... absolutely overdone, extra dry, burned oil, the shrimps and sepia were covered in burned stuff from grilling other stuff ...really low quality, never again! You get for what you pay, but not really. Just because you get dessert, soft drink and house wine (those cheap cardboard "wines" of course) included, you have the feeling it's a great deal! Well, you pay 18-20 EUR for all you can eat in a really decent sushi restaurant, and, in our case, we pay extra for a glass of wine and water...no room for dessert anyway :). One last thing...the seats were sticky and filthy...tables close together and, being a buffet, you need to get up back and forward, especially when you have kids...

Okay, it was a village festival evening, okay, the menu was limited, okay, the dishes were 10 EUR... but more than 30 minutes of waiting to eat on plastic plates, with plastic cutlery.... very limited quantities (even for 10 EUR) and the glass of wine (origin not specified) at 7 euros stuck in my throat...

06/06/2025: The service was incomprehensible. It felt like being in a psychiatric hospital where the employees didn't do anything logically. At noon, the pizza oven wasn't even lit, we waited 30 minutes for a pizza, and we were the fastest to be served.

04/01/2026: Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 PM, I tried unsuccessfully to call to order three takeout pizzas. I decided to go in person, arriving around 7:40 PM (after a pointless argument about parking with another crafty and rude customer). I was greeted coldly, waited 10 minutes, and finally was asked if I needed to order. The answer was obvious, and I was told it wasn't possible before 10:00 PM... 7:40 PM??? 😒. Thoughts... it's better this way. The place is dirty, the walls are completely black from the soot from the oven, pizzas are seen coming out of the oven, flat, dry, and burnt, with no trace of leavened dough. The kitchen staff has long, loose hair and no hats, and the pizza chef and oven staff are the same. The oven only has room for four pizzas. Of course you said it was for 10:00 PM, even though it was 7:40 PM. Even assuming you have reservations, you always accommodate customers who show up at the pizzeria, even in first-come, first-served order, for goodness sake. Change jobs... 😒 I'm leaving with the suspicion that having pointed out to the customer earlier that he was being sneaky about the parking wasn't appreciated by the pizza chef (maybe friends). Anyway, at 8:25 PM, takeout pizzas were served properly at the Metropolitan pizzeria, the best in Guspini... Pizzeria da Mariano is to be avoided... despicable.
