23/04/2026: Spicchi d’Arte is a pizzeria that has built a strong presence in the area over the years, with multiple locations in Specchia, Gagliano del Capo, and Tricase. I personally visited the Specchia location on New Year's Eve, and overall the experience was good, although there were some areas that could be improved. I'll start with the location, which certainly deserves a very positive review: the place is truly beautiful, meticulously maintained, and a pleasure to be in. The atmosphere is elegant and modern, ideal for both an evening with friends and a more relaxed dinner. The only negative, unfortunately, was the temperature inside: it was quite cold, and considering it was a winter evening, and New Year's Eve at that, this somewhat affected the overall comfort. Precisely because it was New Year's Eve, I expected something more in terms of organization and atmosphere. Even something simple would have been enough to make the evening more special. Instead, there was no real dedicated initiative, and we made it all the way to midnight without any particular moments of engagement. Only at the last minute was the Canale 5 countdown broadcast, which was appreciated, but could have been better organized and given a little more advance notice. As for the food, we ordered about 15 pizzas, for a total of €311. Price-wise, considering the quantity and overall quality, it's reasonable. The pizzas are good, and the dough, especially the Neapolitan one, is well-made. I ordered a specchiudda, which was really good overall; the only thing that made me turn up my nose was the burrata, which seemed too cold right out of the refrigerator. This is a detail that can bother many people and which I think should be addressed more carefully. We also ordered more classic pizzas, like the Margherita with Neapolitan dough, and more elaborate ones, like the one with burrata and bresaola. The fries were also good, although the latter were a bit too oily. The service was quite slow, but considering the time of year, the large crowd, and the special evening, that's understandable. However, along with the temperature of the place, it contributed to making the experience a little less welcoming than I expected, especially given the special occasion. In conclusion, I give Spicchi d'Arte 4 stars because the quality is there, the place is beautiful, and it has great potential. With a little more attention to hospitality, special event planning, and small details about the food, it could easily take a further leap in quality. This pizzeria is still worth a try and has room for improvement.

11/05/2026: Sale e Pepe Restaurant is one of those quiet restaurants where service is warm and friendly; it's definitely a good choice for those seeking a quiet meal. The menu balances traditional and innovative, offering traditional dishes adapted to the concept of a fine-dining restaurant. The restaurant also offers a daily menu (with two dishes) to offer regulars a bit of novelty and variety. The service is meticulously maintained by the waiters, especially the Maître d', who resolves any issues with extreme professionalism and speed.

09/05/2026: I had an appetizer of 6 mozzarella balls with eggplant and shrimp tartare: microscopic, frozen mozzarella balls, no discernible flavor. The first course was bavette with mullet bottarga: the pasta was very good, but the sauce was undetectable. The dessert was: cream puffs with dark chocolate ganache; on the plate, a ball of shortcrust pastry covered in icing... this too was tasteless. In short, a pretentious, expensive place, with food far below the price and expectations!

10/05/2026: Delicious lunch! We were greeted with a tasting of five different flavored extra virgin olive oils, all interesting and truly delicious, which are also available for purchase in various sizes. Convenient location, downtown, and friendly service. Recommended!!

20/04/2026: I was a little disappointed that the single menu had some wines for €15 a bottle and €3.50 a glass. When I asked for one of these bottles, I was told I had to choose from the other menu (the wine-only one)... well... obviously at a higher price: €20 a bottle/€5 a glass. I was perplexed. We asked what seafood entree they had: tagliolini, mussels, clams, and calamari. I ordered one and a slice of cod, then the waiter came back and told me there were no clams and that they could be replaced with octopus, which I don't like. So we changed our order and ordered two slices of cod in a taralli crust. When they arrived, we noticed that the taralli had sesame seeds. Since one of us is allergic to sesame, they offered to remake it with a normal, classic breading. A gesture much appreciated. Which, of course, he made us eat at different times. Sesame wasn't listed as an allergen. That said, the dish was very good, of high quality.

Everything about this place feels special — from the beautiful historic building to the warm, attentive service. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, and every detail felt thoughtfully curated. Breakfast each morning was a highlight — fresh, delicious, and truly an experience rather than just a meal. There’s a sense of calm and authenticity here that’s hard to find. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. We would return in a heartbeat.

03/06/2026: Terrible experience!! We arrived at 9:30 PM on a Wednesday for dinner with a coworker, without a reservation. The place was practically empty; they barely greeted us. The waitress, who had everything but the desire for new customers at that hour during her weekday shift, reluctantly seated us at a freshly cleared table with a large red wine stain on the paper tablecloth. I pointed this out, and she annoyedly replied that the red wine wouldn't come off, then, walking away, added that we could change tables if we wanted! Of course, we immediately got up and changed restaurants! Terrible manners and a terrible way to do your job! I can't give a 0, but I might as well!!

23/04/2026: Simple yet more than adequate, clean, and a great location to serve as a base for visiting various places in the surrounding area (including Lecce, Otranto, and Gallipoli). The Agriturismo is being modernized step by step (the swimming pool is now ready for use) but meets expectations. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. They deserve praise.
