27/03/2026: I had to change my mind. I returned for an introductory wine course and another introductory cooking course... what can I say? I found a different, welcoming atmosphere, and above all, high quality. An exceptional wine selection, food that truly exceeded expectations, and chef Nicola's helpfulness were truly noteworthy. Now I return often to enjoy moments of taste and well-being, accompanied by friendly and interesting conversations with the owner, who is always ready to advise customers in the best possible way. As they say... never trust just one approach! 🤗🙏 Overrated place. I've been there a couple of times and everything seemed, well, pumped up but lacking in air. The owner was a bit pushy. The staff was average. I won't return.

07/06/2026: We had a wonderful day. The pool was easy to access and the hot tub was fantastic. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, with excellent service and very kind owners. I highly recommend this place for a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. We will definitely be back.

05/06/2026: We stayed here for 8 nights. It is primarily geared towards motorhomes, but we were able to park our folding caravan there because we didn't need to hammer many pegs into the ground. The family is very hospitable and helpful. We had delicious dinners twice in the evening. There are plenty of spots on the grounds to sit in the shade or in the sun. There is now much more greenery on the campsite than can be seen in the old photos. We found it a nice place to explore the south of Puglia. Cycling to Lecce is very doable, even if you don't have an electric bike (only one tricky little hill). There is a small supermarket in San Pietro and a somewhat larger one in Monterino (both within cycling distance).

28/05/2026: A beautiful little place surrounded by nature, a simple rural structure but meticulously cared for in every detail. The poultry and the friendly, sweet donkeys enrich the atmosphere of times gone by. We kneaded bread and baked it in the wood-fired oven, a wonderful experience of returning to authentic life. 03/04/2026: This restaurant is located near the historic center of Laterza. A very charming location and fast service. We started with delicious Ascolana olives, then moved on to the equally delicious pasta all'arrabbiata, a delicious rare steak, and an Antony pizza, a perfect combination of many ingredients that make this pizza the jewel in the crown of this restaurant. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

A hedge divides the street, but the experience isn't the best: cars constantly drive past the tables, and there's no heating, making it uncomfortable, especially on cooler evenings. Food 4/5: Overall, good food. The pizza was well-risen and enjoyable, but the chips arrived cold, a detail that detracted from the experience. Overall, good. Service 1/5: Terrible experience. We waited over an hour and a half for our pizzas, which was absolutely unacceptable. The staff gave no communication or explanation for the delay. The service was truly disappointing and unprofessional. Absolutely not worth it. From an experience like this, I expected at least an apology. Average 2/5: Overall, poor experience. The service was very slow, with excessive wait times and little attention to the customer. The place is small, and the outdoor seating on the sidewalk is uncomfortable, partly due to the constant traffic and the lack of heating. The food is the best part: the pizza is well-risen, although some details could be improved. Overall, the experience was below expectations. Failed

20/03/2026: We went to the cinema in Nardo and afterward we were craving pizza, so we went to this place, convinced by the many positive reviews. But I have to say we were completely disappointed, both with the place and the pizzas. Perhaps because, given the reviews, we were expecting something different, the pizzas were barely okay.

17/05/2026: The pizza was very good but the lady and young man at the counter were both pretty rude. They seemed angry that I needed a minute to look at the menu to decide on a pizza. The pizza chef was nice. Thankfully there are many other options for great pizza in Italy!

27/04/2026: We visited Lido Macchia as a group of six and couldn't have asked for anything better. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing, but the real highlight was the incredible sea view that accompanied the entire meal.

17/06/2026: Very arrogant owners: a half-burnt pizza with poorly topped toppings. We politely asked why, but they wouldn't admit it, and they attacked us. There was pesto on the pizza, but it was of terrible quality. Good dough, but an angry attitude towards customers, and a lot of presumption. They think they're the best... and that's how they become the worst.

04/05/2026: We visited in May, so plenty of seating. The view was amazing and the owners were very kind and helpful. The calamari and shrimp appetizer with lemon juice was great, light and tasty batter and fresh. I had the “titanic puccha”with a swordfish steak with sun dried tomato’s, straticelli cheese, lettuce, rocket. Both the swordfish and the bread were fantastic. We chatted with the owner and he insisted on providing coffee on the house. Try the Cafe Lecesse, espresso and almond milk over ice, it’s the local specialty coffee. If you are passing from Otranto to Santa Maria di Leuca, stop in Santa Cesarea Terme for a great lunch, for both the food and views!

The real added value was the owner: William, extremely kind, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about his work. He carefully explained each dish to us and recommended pizzas and an off-menu tagliata, perfectly matching our tastes. You can feel the attention to detail and the quality of the dishes. A very positive experience, we'll definitely be back.”

16/02/2026: Fantastic experience. We ate excellently. Recommended by the owner, we ordered orecchiette with turnip greens and spaghetti with olives, capers, and cherry tomatoes. Truly spectacular. The tagliata steak was also excellent. The service was attentive and professional. The girls were very kind.

The outdoor seating and decor certainly don't betray impeccable taste, but the dishes we had for our quick late-April lunch were completely satisfying: excellent buffalo ricotta ravioli, delicious porcini mushroom trofie, and flavorful grilled sausage. Convenient parking, very fair prices. In short, well done.
