It's not impossible, but it's the kind of mission that earns you dinner. In the end, when you walk in, you feel like a hero who's conquered the relic. ATMOSPHERE The place isn't big, and that's a good thing. Because every detail seems designed with the precision of a Japanese calligrapher. Just the right lighting, thoughtful furnishings, no excess. Picturesque on the outside, bright on the inside: in the summer, the outdoor tables seem already taken by the cheerful chatter you can't wait to hear. THE MENU Not vegan? It doesn't matter. Here, the kitchen doesn't ask you for party membership, it simply knocks you out. The dishes don't try to "imitate" the carnivorous tradition, but challenge it to a duel. And they often win. You can choose a guided tour, like in a gastronomic theme park where each stop is a surprise you'd never imagine ordering alone. LOTS OF SMOKE AND... A TWIST The signature dish is this: "Lots of smoke and no roast." A name that seems designed to mock you, but it throws you off at the first bite. It looks like meat. It smells like meat. I can confirm the deliciousness and friendliness, but I'm downgrading it by 2 stars due to the excessive price... €2 per scoop is truly unacceptable! Now, management has rightly changed, and the review I left is no longer valid. I'll make sure to stop by for a new review and some delicious gelato! Best regards

19/09/2025: Avguštin with his family is a professional host who is very rare to find. His care for guests who sleep or eat at his place are treated like kings and queens. We really appreciated his welcoming and the attention to our needs. We love wine and the wine list at the glass is perfectly balanced with the menu with the right attention to local wineries. But he has been able to surprise us with his recommendations for other Italian and international wines. Chapeau!

01/10/2025: INCREDIBLE atmosphere, amazing location, great prices, owner is probably the friendliest face to have ever walked the Earth. It's just a shame that the food was...just fine. It wasn't terrible, just very average. So don't expect food that will blow your mind, but everything else is top notch.

The food is delicious: here I tried two specialties from Trieste and the Balkans: the legendary jota, which exceeded my expectations, and the cevapcici on potatoes in tecia with ajvar and caramelized onions. Everything is delicious and reasonably priced!

06/07/2025: The menu is richer than the one indicated because they have trapizzini and supplì that vary. Excellent supplì mushrooms and sausage and croquettes potatoes and cod. Very good trapizzino chicken alla cacciatora. Very good desserts, all made by them. They also do take away and home delivery.

28/09/2025: Our apartment for a week in Trieste was a dream, right across the street from this ice cream parlor, and we probably got ice cream there every day. It's delicious, with many vegan ice cream flavors and seasonal blends. The service is very friendly. I highly recommend it.
