05/01/2026: We stopped by this restaurant for a quick bite to eat, but the overall experience was disappointing. We were a large group, and due to our size, we were asked to choose a maximum of two different dishes, a rather unusual request for a restaurant. Since we needed to eat due to travel fatigue, we accepted this compromise to accommodate the restaurant's needs. However, in addition to this limitation, we were forced to further modify our choices because some of the ingredients needed for the available dishes had run out. This made the experience unorganized and below expectations.

20/09/2025: Very friendly staff and great food. The beach bar is also highly recommended. They also serve homemade bruschetta as a snack. I'd go back anytime.

06/01/2026: A restaurant in one of Abruzzo's most charming squares, with rooms brimming with history. Outdoor seating is also available in the summer. We enjoyed excellent arrosticini (skewers) paired with a nice Montepulciano. Excellent value.

18/11/2025: Rustic atmosphere, affordable prices, basic menu. Just don't ask for truffles, because they'll be served poorly and infrequently. That is, don't expect the waiter to grate the tuber over your tagliatelle... it's all a jumble of pickles. Go for cured meats, cheeses, and grilled meats.

18/09/2025: ...it's comfortable, and spotlessly clean, serves neatly cooked traditional dishes for no-frills, no-fuss quick meals. staff are experienced, capable, welcoming – and manage to keep restrooms the way they should be kept! local crowd at aperitifs' time tend to easily get overly loud – place is roadside pit-stop for recurring farmers, truckers, industry workers and bikers, at the end of the afternoon... rest of the day sounds much quieter. never failed me in about four years, no matter which shift was on duty when i stopped by (which happens at least twice per week)... on my weekly route before letting Mantua slide by, it's either this one for me, or simply keep driving to destination if still closed.

02/01/2026: A group of five, we ordered two platters, a liter of house rosé, water, five first courses, and coffees. €28 each. The pasta was all homemade, the gnocchi with pumpkin cream, walnuts, and turmeric were truly fantastic, the chitarra pasta with three-meat ragù tasted just like grandma's, and the rintrocili pasta with mushrooms and truffles was truly tasty and fragrant! The staff was kind and courteous, the place was clean, and just steps from the castle. I would have liked them to offer us a complimentary liqueur or a wine donut, as I've found at other places, but overall, we had a good time.

22/09/2025: Nice view, tables and chairs made of dated plastic. There were two of us. We sat down, they came to ask for our order, and we asked for two more minutes to choose. They came every 30 seconds, and we repeatedly asked for more time. They rushed us, saying we could overlap orders and we'd eat late (given that it wasn't that busy), so we chose a fries and two pizzas. The fries arrived (very salty) and we started eating... shortly after, while we were still finishing, they took our plates away, saying "the pizzas have arrived," and left them on the table without giving us a chance to finish the fries. I ordered a "speechless" pizza, but the more appropriate name would have been "flavorless." A jumble of ingredients that on paper should have been good, but together they had no clear flavor; you couldn't distinguish a single ingredient. The cherry tomatoes on the pizza were the same ones you'd find on bruschetta, cut very small. There wasn't even a whiff of Gorgonzola, and the truffle seemed to be in oil, with neither flavor nor aroma. My partner had a royal pizza without Grana Padano but with a drizzle of extra olive oil... needless to say, it tasted like it was soaked in a barrel of oil. The price isn't excessive, but in our opinion, the quality isn't up to par; you just have to travel a few more meters to find better pizzerias.

17/09/2025: Birthday dinner. Everything was good. It's a shame that the focaccia, which was delicious, was brought after we'd finished the cured meats and cheeses. The pizzas were good. We had to wait quite a while for the cake. The staff was kind and friendly.

29/09/2025: We had a wonderful time. The food was excellent. The owner was attentive and knew how to recommend dishes and wines. We'll definitely be back.

Some details could be improved (long wait times/portions not always generous), but overall a great experience. Recommended for those looking to eat well in Roccaraso.

21/11/2025: I celebrated my 50th birthday and everything went perfect!

30/10/2025: The lamb shish kebab was excellent. It was bland and flavorless. The lamb chops were breaded and cooked like a schnitzel, so it wasn't very good. It was hard to eat and full of fat. The fried cheese was legendary, but we asked for a salad, and it only came with lettuce, not worth 3 euros. The bread with the sauce was delicious. The bread was filled with mushrooms, capsicum, spinach, and zucchini. The service was very slow.

01/10/2025: A passing experience, but we had a great time. Traditional products and wishes fulfilled, top-notch grilled lamb. First course: egg pasta with mutton sauce and.... 😋😋😋 Very kind staff and very friendly owner, we felt at home. Recommended

20/09/2025: If you're vacationing on the Trabocchi Coast and want to enjoy some traditional Abruzzo dishes, Trattoria delle Frapa, near Lanciano, is the perfect place. The restaurant is charming and quaint, and the quality of the ingredients is truly excellent. The staff and owner are truly friendly. The homemade pasta is excellent, including the spaghetti alla chitarra with meatball sauce, and all the other specialties like arrosticini and meats.

04/12/2025: I went for a piadina the other day... I had one with salmon... what can I say... after four hours I was so close to going to the emergency room... excruciating stomach pain, nausea, and you can imagine what else... And I still have the after-effects... Obviously, not to mention the "roll" version, which is a complete rip-off because the filling inside is identical to the regular piadina... but it costs you €1.50 more. Trust me, there are plenty of other food chains around there... choose those. Never again.

06/11/2025: I hadn't been back in about a year. Even though the place was empty, we waited about 30 minutes for two piadinas and a salad. The piadinas were cold and dry because they were overcooked, and one was missing an ingredient. I went to the counter and saw some very young people; they seemed almost abandoned. I spoke to them and they apologized. The place was dirty, the bins were full, and, I repeat, there were few customers, which I think will become fewer and fewer over time. I'm disappointed because the young people work there, but something probably went wrong with their training. Too bad!

04/01/2026: Located in Tortoreto Alta, very good pizza by the meter, with the option of adding various toppings, light and thin dough, excellent ingredients, attentive and friendly staff.

30/12/2025: Avoid!!! As soon as we ordered, the owner, who also served as waiter, told us we'd ordered too much for three people. This was truly rude and embarrassing! Furthermore, the mozzarella was a melted brick on the pizza, and it wasn't fiordilatte, but that common rolled-up mass of shredded stretched curd...never again! There are much better alternatives nearby, both in terms of quality and certainly more honest prices.

26/09/2025: Having a few days off and passing through Giulianova, I chose to stay at this property. Beautiful, elegant, and modern residence, it proved to be an excellent choice. The immaculately clean property with amenities like the pool, the excellent restaurant, and the convenient covered parking make it a top-notch property. If I have the opportunity, I will definitely return.
