14/10/2025: As a restaurateur, I can say it's excellent value for money. Beautiful location, attentive service, homemade bread, and a kitchen staff who knows where to go. It's on the road, but perhaps a little inconvenient to see. Highly recommended! Well done! This effort deserves to be rewarded!

28/02/2026: Café Trude in Kaltern completely won me over. I was particularly impressed by the staff: friendly, attentive, and pleasantly relaxed – without ever being intrusive. ♥️ I had a delicious, thick hot chocolate and a slice of cake – both were absolutely delicious and highly recommended. The prices are also reasonable, especially considering the quality. Very convenient: they accept both cash and card payments. The only slight drawback is the location directly on the main road. However, this hardly detracts from the overall experience – a clear 5 stars from me!

15/08/2025: We were dissatisfied for many reasons. First, the lady who served us wasn't particularly friendly. We felt like we weren't welcome, even though we entered the bakery an hour before closing time and practically everything had been stocked. Then we were offered rolls that were damaged and so hard the next day that they were inedible. I don't know what was being offered or what went wrong with them. An experienced salesperson could have pointed out to us that the goods were no longer fresh. Fortunately, there's still competition. We won't be back.

14/10/2025: I simply couldn't find anything to complain about! Nice rooms with balconies, excellent food, and lovely sunbathing lawns right by the lake. The service was also top-notch, and we were able to store our bikes. We'll be back.

09/11/2025: The hotel is somewhat secluded, in a quiet area, about 2.5 km from Kaltern. The rustically furnished rooms are very nice. We had a room on the second floor with a view of the vineyards and Lake Kaltern. The terrace offers a lovely view of the vineyards below. We had half-board. The breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choice. Dinner was a fixed three-course menu. On the first evening, when a large tour group was also present, the food was not satisfactory for us. The pasta as a starter was overcooked, while the ossobuco was undercooked. The other two dinners were of acceptable quality, but there is definitely room for improvement in terms of taste! Service was very good in all areas. Despite all the positive impressions we gained during our three-day stay, I cannot recommend the hotel. We were unpleasantly surprised when we paid the bill. It wasn't really a proper bill, just a receipt. Instead of the usual description of the items consumed, it simply stated "various" and the corresponding price. The drinks menu we were given listed tap water at €1.10, but we were charged €2.50 for three bottles. The half-liter of house wine on tap was listed at €8.10, but we were charged €9.00 for two bottles. Only the bottled wine was charged at the price listed on the menu. Because the receipt only showed the amounts, I didn't notice this until later. It's not about the few euros; it's about the fact that I felt cheated! Therefore, I cannot recommend this hotel.

26/10/2025: We're not usually complicated and can easily accommodate even simpler accommodations if little things aren't perfect. This time, however, we were a bit disappointed with the value for money. The mattresses were extremely hard and very uncomfortable – sleeping for long was almost impossible, as we had to constantly turn over to avoid back pain. The breakfast also didn't impress us: It was poorly presented, the selection was rather limited, and the quality of the food we tried was unfortunately not tasty. Furthermore, we can't understand why cheddar, of all things, is offered in such large quantities. The hot chocolate was undrinkable, the bread was mediocre, and the ham and cheese weren't fresh. So on the second day, we decided to stop at a bakery instead. We were surprised that the alcohol wasn't served with a measuring cup. We almost got three Baileys for the price of one. 😅 Unfortunately, the red wine was kept cold… The rooms themselves are fine. Unfortunately, the toilet seat was broken, and there was some mold in the corner of the wall. It's very noisy, especially in the evenings. However, the view is fantastic, and the location overall is okay. Nevertheless, we wouldn't come back.

09/03/2026: Generous dishes, honest prices, it is preferable to choose traditional dishes, discreet service even if slow.

09/03/2026: You arrive and have to walk straight through the smoking area to get inside. Not very pleasant, especially with children. We were shown to a table in a cramped corner, where we had to wait a very long time for our order. The restaurant is a bit dated, but the service was very friendly. However, when the food finally arrived after an hour, we were very disappointed. We ordered Wiener Schnitzel with fries and a schnitzel with pepper sauce. The Wiener Schnitzel was very thick, and the breading tasted like old oil. The schnitzel was okay; the sauce came from a carton, so you can't really go wrong with that. Everything was pretty much under-salted, and salt was being passed from one table to another as everyone needed to add more. Many people, especially from Eastern Europe, came for the large pork knuckle. Perhaps recommended for construction workers, but not for a family outing in Kaltern.

25/11/2025: There's currently a huge construction site right outside, which we weren't informed about beforehand. This significantly impacted the tour, as the noise made it impossible to sit outside despite the beautiful weather. The tour itself was – unfortunately – truly awful. We only learned on-site that a German-language tour, contrary to prior announcements, was not possible at short notice. Afterwards, I spent a considerable amount of time trying to resolve the issue, but to no avail. Poor customer service and overall a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it at all!

24/11/2025: We went in for a tasting of five of the winery's wines, and were guided by a young but very knowledgeable and helpful man. The price was excellent, he was happy to answer any questions, even technical ones, and the wines were top-quality. The 14% Chardonnay was one of the best still whites I've ever tasted. A top experience.

13/11/2025: The spaghetti alla carbonara turned out to be spaghetti with cream and cooked bacon. This dish should definitely not be advertised as carbonara. The wild boar pasta was also carelessly prepared and tasteless. The service was attentive, and the owner didn't charge me for my spaghetti, which I found very accommodating.

06/10/2025: The seating is super nice, quiet, and idyllic. We had delicious drinks, wine, and apple strudel at a fair price. It seems to be family-run, and some of the products are homemade and regional.

06/10/2025: A lovely garden restaurant right on the lake with a great view and good produce, as well as two or three hot and cold homemade dishes daily. It's a must for me to stop here every year and support these people, who still do their work with passion and kindness.

05/10/2025: A great place to stop in a fantastic location for cyclists, hikers, etc. There are also free charging stations for e-bikes. Highly recommended.

28/08/2025: Unfortunately, there's no menu or drink menu. The waiter didn't know the prices even when asked. You have to order blind. So we decided to get up and go somewhere else.
