27/06/2026: I used to come here all the time as a child and only returned after a long time, since I moved away. I have to say the cakes/tarts didn't taste fresh at all and were very dry. Plus, the portions were very small for the price; you can get better value for money even in Bolzano's old town. The service was also quite unfriendly, and we were addressed in Italian several times, even though I was speaking German. My skin color was probably a factor. A real shame...

21/05/2026: A hotel just as you could wish for. Excellent cuisine, friendly and efficient staff, a cozy atmosphere, and a superbly stocked drinks menu. We will be back!

11/04/2026: Rude staff. Weren’t patient. No lactose free or sorbet icecream options. They told my wife they won’t take on the “liability” of her lactose intolerance. Not even an allergy, just an intolerance. As a hotel. Unreal. Just go to one of the other places. You’ll have a better experience with less rude staff.

26/07/2026: There were four of us for dinner here today. The ambiance isn't very nice, more beige and brown and dated. We ordered a pork knuckle, spaghetti with tomato sauce, a schnitzel with mushrooms, and a salad. The spaghetti arrived first, followed about 10 minutes later by the schnitzel and salad, which came completely without dressing or seasoning. We didn't receive olive oil, salt, and pepper until much later. Unfortunately, a bottle of balsamic vinegar was smeared all over the place, and I didn't see it because of the bottle's color and accidentally dipped in it. The pork knuckle arrived last. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy most of the food. The pork knuckle was dry; only the fatty parts were still somewhat juicy. The schnitzel was only salvaged by the sauce. The fried potatoes tasted old and bland. The spaghetti was tasty, but there wasn't enough sauce for the mountain of spaghetti, and the plate was too shallow to stir properly. The children's playground desperately needs an overhaul; screws are missing or loose. We won't be coming back. That's a shame, as the view of the city and the mountains must be beautiful.

06/04/2026: This is the best lasagna I know. The dumplings are also excellent. Everything is fresh and homemade. The view is fantastic. However, only guests of the house on the hillside can fully enjoy the sunbathing lawn under willows, the jetty, stand-up paddleboards, and the football field away from the hustle and bustle of the lido. That house is also highly recommended.

08/06/2026: It's been years since I've eaten so badly. The only thing that stood out were the fries. There were eight of us, and we were all in disbelief at the quality of the food. The waiters even tried to make an effort, but there was no customer service (asking for a drink three times with the place half empty). For €300, they didn't even offer a round of the house: "We don't offer one." Well, "We definitely won't be back." It's a shame because when I was 18, it was the classic "abundant-good-cheap" place.

08/06/2026: The portion sizes here are almost insane! :) With pasta, you get a whole package of asparagus. Price/performance ratio is okay. That's the main reason for 4 stars. With the pork knuckle and fries, I would have liked a proper sauce. Just ketchup, mayo, and mustard was a bit dry. (Tip: maybe order it separately.)

11/06/2026: Sorry to say "Never again" For many years, our group of motorcyclists has been coming to the Hotel Tannhof in Kaltern, often staying several times a year. The hotel's location is excellent, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is always friendly, helpful, and eager to make guests' stays enjoyable. The staff deserves high praise for their work. Unfortunately, for years we've observed a problem in the owners' interactions with their guests. Despite being long-time regulars, we've never felt genuine interest in us or our satisfaction. The owning family often seemed distant and uninterested. Another weak point is the breakfast. For a hotel of this category, the selection is rather meager, especially regarding cold cuts, cheese, and fresh vegetables. It seems as though they are cutting costs significantly, which is a shame. However, the real reason we've decided not to return to this hotel after many years is an incident that occurred during our last stay. Two of our motorcycles were damaged in the hotel parking lot. It later turned out that the damage had been caused by the hotel owner himself with his vehicle, and he had fled the scene. The total damage amounted to over €5,000. However, what disappointed us most was the reaction of the owning family. When the person responsible was still unknown, our request was met with disinterest and arrogance rather than helpfulness. After it became clear that the hotel owner himself had caused the damage, we received neither an apology nor any sign of regret. The owner simply signed the police report and left without offering a personal conversation or an apology. It is very unfortunate that our long-standing relationship with this hotel has ended in this way. The hotel has an excellent location, good rooms, and dedicated staff. However, the owners' treatment of their guests unfortunately overshadows the otherwise positive impression. For this reason, we are giving it 3 out of 5 stars. The rating would have been significantly higher if the owners had shown responsibility, decency, and respect for their long-standing guests in this situation.

18/05/2026: I'm in the area for work, so I started looking for a place to stay. After several calls, where the answer was either "we don't have room" or they'd quote you ridiculous prices, I tried this hotel. A very kind girl answered and said yes, they did have room and that the price was €85.00 for the room and breakfast. I arrived at the hotel, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting such a beautiful and well-kept hotel. The lady at the front desk (not the owner) was always very kind and helpful. I decided to have dinner here, and the food was excellent: spectacular burgers and stellar strudel. The lady who served me was also very kind and helpful. I think this hotel is missing a star because they deserve it, especially for the passion they put into running it. I highly recommend it to anyone who has any doubts; it's a perfect hotel, even for families with children. My reviews are usually poorer, but you deserve all my compliments. Thanks again to the owner, a truly special woman.

18/07/2026: The wine is good, but the service in the wine shop is unprofessional. You're expected to just take the wine off the shelf, and the service is rude. And they don't speak German, only Italian.
