The dishes on the tables looked rather delicious, but we didn't taste them.
03/05/2026: Mixed experience. I ordered a trio of dumplings with Schlutzkrapfen (filled pasta) instead of coleslaw, but I received the trio without coleslaw and a small portion of Schlutzkrapfen (the dumplings were full price, the Schlutzkrapfen were €2 off). They could have informed me about this.
The food was very good and tasty. The view was great too!

10/05/2026: Excellent food and very friendly, attentive service. We had an asparagus dish, a pasta dish, and an ice cream. Everything was superb. The house white wine was also delicious. The pizzas being served at other tables looked very good as well. Highly recommended! 👍
29/04/2026: Loud, unpleasant atmosphere, waiters more like you'd find in a pub, no flair, worst carbonara of my life. Our most negative and expensive experience in a week in Kaltern (everything before that was positive).

All-you-can-eat is also available. The service is always polite, fast, and fresh.
I recommend coming here as soon as it opens to get your food as quickly as possible with the all-you-can-eat option. There might be a wait during peak hours, but it's all perfectly manageable. Definitely recommended!
Since I've seen in other reviews that many people have communication problems, I recommend simply writing down the phone numbers and giving them to them; then everything will go smoothly.

24/09/2025: The Schlosshotel Aehrental is an extraordinary, wonderful place: in the heart of Kaltern, yet a little removed from the hustle and bustle. We appreciate the hospitality, the delicious food, the wonderful residence with its well-kept garden... A gem, and very special indeed.
25/06/2025: We always enjoy staying at the castle hotel. The old building is very beautiful, the magnificent gardens are lovingly maintained and invite you to linger. The delicious food is simply delicious, and the owner and the entire staff are very friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
The hotel has private access to the lake, which is about 3 kilometers away.

27/01/2026: One of the most beautiful and delicious spots in South Tyrol. "Holiday with friends" isn't just a slogan here, it's a way of life. You feel so welcome, and the food is cooked with love. Everything is homemade – juices, wine, speck... and you can taste it. Sometimes musicians come up from Kaltern, which makes it a bit louder, but always more fun.

11/04/2026: Rude staff. Weren’t patient. No lactose free or sorbet icecream options. They told my wife they won’t take on the “liability” of her lactose intolerance. Not even an allergy, just an intolerance. As a hotel. Unreal. Just go to one of the other places. You’ll have a better experience with less rude staff.

20/12/2025: Great food, delicious, and a wonderful atmosphere!
We had Nonna's Bowl twice. A fantastic and incredibly tasty vegetarian dish! We also enjoyed a delicious espresso and a very tasty freshly squeezed multivitamin juice (apple, orange, carrot)! A great café that serves breakfast and brunch until 2 pm. You can also sit inside. We've rarely seen such a clean restroom. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back!
05/12/2025: We received a gift voucher for brunch for two. The food was all very good and carefully prepared. They brought me everything lactose-free, given my intolerance, and my brunch truly had everything. Excellent service, friendly and welcoming staff. Quiet place. We'll definitely be back, and it's definitely a great gift voucher idea.
