03/05/2026: We ate dinner here twice within five days. The cuisine was excellent, perfectly seasoned, and seasonally inspired. The wines were perfectly paired and of high quality. You can really feel the passion and dedication the host has for his restaurant. The service staff was equally attentive and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

11/11/2025: A typical South Tyrolean tavern where you sit at large tables with other diners. Excellent food, extensive menu. Excellent wine and beer. Fast and accurate service. Payment only in cash or via instant bank transfer. Call on weekends as they are often full.
07/11/2025: Excellent Tyrolean restaurant. Friendly and fast staff. It's a shame there's very little parking.

17/05/2026: A beautiful restaurant in a historic building right on the wine route overlooking Lake Kaltern. Everything here is perfect, from the food and ambiance to the service. A special highlight – be sure to try the apple cider vinegar from the nearby Manincor winery!

01/07/2026: Dr. Siegi's is a cool guy, he's very down-to-earth and cool. He's the boss, the son of the chef, always on the ball, uncomplicated, and always makes his jokes. We think he's super cool and laid-back. I can recommend him 100%. Top-notch! Best regards.

27/10/2025: Every visit to the funny crocodile is an experience! The atmosphere alone is special. Peter's service is personal and makes you feel right at home.
The menu is small but delicious, and Stefan cooks the best lasagna ever (but he's not the only one ☺️). A must-visit on any holiday in Kaltern!
15/10/2025: During our vacation in South Tyrol, we found this small restaurant on Goldgasse in Kaltern. We were very pleasantly surprised by the food: tortellini filled with porcini mushrooms and truffle foam, and very well-filled herb pasta. We sat across from the restaurant in a small garden with only five tables. It was incredibly cozy and elegantly set, and the weather was perfect on October 15th. A dream, with very friendly service.
Thank you, it was a very nice lunch.

24/06/2026: Location: District of Kaltern.
Quiet location, with the occasional motorcyclist. A lovely, rustic cellar, pleasant for dining even in sweltering heat. The outdoor area is like a typical wine tavern. Free tap water, complimentary amuse-bouche, and schnapps, and when you pay, the owner gives you another free schnapps.
We had spare ribs with farm-style fries and homemade BBQ sauce. Delicious! We'll definitely be back.
15/06/2026: The food is absolutely delicious, especially the spare ribs and apricot dumplings – highly recommended!
The service is very friendly, and where else do you get a complimentary amuse-bouche, free water, and a complimentary schnapps?

The dumplings could be a little softer.
Otherwise, everything is delicious.
The salad portion is enormous.
Price is okay.
15/05/2026: We had a large, beautiful, and perfectly equipped, quiet room with a view of the vineyards and direct access to the pool. The room was cleaned every day, and the beds were made with care. 😍🥰 Breakfast was perfect, with excellent coffee. Nothing was missing. The evening meals were equally delicious. The entire Rainer family is incredibly welcoming. You simply feel at home. We would love to come back again.

10/05/2026: We arrived at the time of our reservation but had to wait on the balcony for someone to be available. They sat us in a draughty spot. When I asked to be seated at the next table, I was rudely told no because it was reserved (there was no evidence of this). Long waits for dumplings with improbable sslsin and sauerkraut that was actually sliced cabbage. When I return to Caldaro, I will never set foot there again.
07/05/2026: The pizzas at Rottenburgerkeller are delicious, and in addition to the standard classics, they also offer some creative options. The service was very friendly and attentive, and our dogs were welcome! We sat inside in the back and enjoyed complete peace and quiet with our dogs.
