06/08/2026: A true highlight in Kaltern! As a motorcyclist on a road trip, I became aware of Spuntloch through the many positive reviews, and they didn't overpromise.
The steak was of outstanding quality and grilled to perfection. The side dishes and sauces were also excellent. The service was warm and attentive, and you feel welcome from the very first moment.
The stylish ambiance perfectly complements the experience. Anyone who loves good meat should definitely visit this restaurant. For me, it was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time.
Thank you for the wonderful evening; I'll gladly return on my next motorcycle tour! 🏍️🥩
04/08/2026: Everything here is just perfect! A lovely atmosphere in the vaulted cellar, incredibly friendly and attentive service, excellent advice on wines and dishes, and of course, fantastic food.
Even though the restaurant was packed, we felt that they always had time for us and wanted to give us the best possible experience. Sitting and eating right at the bar on the bench was unusual, but very pleasant, as we were always exceptionally well looked after.
The steaks were cooked to perfection and delicious, especially with the dip. The cheese platter and the sorbet were also divine.
We'll definitely be back!

16/07/2026: Everything was delicious. One steak was too tough, but the server immediately offered to cook it again. That was nice, but we would have preferred if the right cut of meat had been used from the start.
We reserved a table.

17/05/2026: A beautiful restaurant in a historic building right on the wine route overlooking Lake Kaltern. Everything here is perfect, from the food and ambiance to the service. A special highlight – be sure to try the apple cider vinegar from the nearby Manincor winery!

15/08/2026: You can eat well for half the price of other places.
A pleasant, cool spot in the countryside in the evenings. I honestly prefer a place like this to being stuck in a local place where the same bottle of Gewurztraminer costs 10 euros more, or a Wienerschnitzel another 7 euros more.
The mixed fried fish on Fridays is excellent and tender.
The side dishes are also plentiful and delicious.
I'll definitely be back.

29/07/2026: Very disappointing. The restaurant was advertised as closing at 2:30 PM, but when we arrived at 1:54 PM, the kitchen was already closed. We came specifically for lunch and had to leave without eating anything. Closing the kitchen more than 30 minutes before the stated closing time, without making this clear online, is extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

02/08/2026: Highly recommended! We had a wonderful evening at Luggin Steffelehof. The food was delicious and typical of South Tyrol. We were delighted with the tasty amuse-bouche and the complimentary schnapps at the end. 😊
The owner is very welcoming, and the two waitresses were incredibly friendly and attentive. Add to that the rustic, cozy atmosphere – we felt right at home and will definitely be back! 🍷🥨👏🥰
02/08/2026: Steffels Hof is a typical South Tyrolean restaurant with a cozy and authentic atmosphere. You feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The food is excellent – freshly prepared, regional, and simply delicious. The traditional South Tyrolean dishes, in particular, impress with their top quality and rich flavor.
The final schnapps tasting was very impressive, so we immediately bought two bottles of their delicious homemade schnapps to take home.
A big thank you also goes to the warm hospitality. The team is attentive, friendly, and ensures that you feel completely at ease. If you want to experience genuine South Tyrolean cuisine and hospitality, Steffels Hof is the perfect place. We'll definitely be back!

We hiked the trail with our 4-year-old daughter and stopped here for lunch.
The eggs with potatoes and speck were special, and the goulash was also very tasty.
The lady at the mountain hut was very kind and super hospitable.
There's a play area outside for the kids.
01/04/2026: An incredibly charming mountain hut. After a rather strenuous but beautiful hike, you're greeted at the top with all sorts of delicious treats.
The owner cooks in the main dining room and is super friendly. The prices are perfectly reasonable, and the Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake) was delicious.

27/10/2025: Every visit to the funny crocodile is an experience! The atmosphere alone is special. Peter's service is personal and makes you feel right at home.
The menu is small but delicious, and Stefan cooks the best lasagna ever (but he's not the only one ☺️). A must-visit on any holiday in Kaltern!
15/10/2025: During our vacation in South Tyrol, we found this small restaurant on Goldgasse in Kaltern. We were very pleasantly surprised by the food: tortellini filled with porcini mushrooms and truffle foam, and very well-filled herb pasta. We sat across from the restaurant in a small garden with only five tables. It was incredibly cozy and elegantly set, and the weather was perfect on October 15th. A dream, with very friendly service.

10/05/2026: We arrived at the time of our reservation but had to wait on the balcony for someone to be available. They sat us in a draughty spot. When I asked to be seated at the next table, I was rudely told no because it was reserved (there was no evidence of this). Long waits for dumplings with improbable sslsin and sauerkraut that was actually sliced cabbage. When I return to Caldaro, I will never set foot there again.
07/05/2026: The pizzas at Rottenburgerkeller are delicious, and in addition to the standard classics, they also offer some creative options. The service was very friendly and attentive, and our dogs were welcome! We sat inside in the back and enjoyed complete peace and quiet with our dogs.
