11/05/2025: I stopped with my girlfriend and the owner was there to welcome us. Extremely kind and helpful, he prepared two sandwiches for us that were nothing short of galactic. Highly recommended. Too bad for the isolated position which leads it to have fewer customers than it certainly deserves

01/02/2025: We were recommended by the very kind and hospitable lady who welcomed us and we were able to taste an excellent Nobile di Montepulciano accompanied by a fantastic platter of cured meats and cheeses. 17/05/2025: Ottimo pranzo veloce dopo un incontro presso il vicino ospedale. Buffet di verdure fresche e di sottili, tutto buonissimo e molto fresco. Tagliata molto buona con carne molto tenera e cotta molto bene. Buon vino della casa. Servizio ottimo e molto piacevole. Costo 35€ a testa con dolce e caffè, molto buono

21/05/2025: Really Nice restaurant. The pizza is the star of the show! 24-48h of fermentation of the dough makes for An airy, light crust. You Cant go wrong here! The salsiccia with the friarelli was really good! Definitely recommend it. We payed around 70€ for 2, incl 1 desert, 2 pizza's, 2 cocktails, 1 appetizer for 2, wine, water,... Servicelady could have been a little more engaging with the People. You'll have a good night going here!

02/06/2025: Perfect dinner: pici all'aglione were not very full of garlic, but as pasta with tomato sauce they were perfect! The roast cockerel was exceptional! Tiramisu was more like whipped cream with ladyfingers, still very good Instead, the cantucci with vin santo were more like chocolate biscuits! However, I would return because the food is good and the welcome is spectacular

01/06/2025: Disappointing experience in every aspect Unfortunately I have to leave a negative review. The rudeness and arrogance of the owners completely ruined the experience. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was cold and rude, and every request seemed like a nuisance. In addition, the food was well below expectations: small portions, you would expect at least a minimum of attention and courtesy, but none of this was present. I do not recommend this place and we certainly will not return.

04/05/2025: Small wine shop for all budgets in Montepulciano. Chosen almost by chance and 100% approved! The sommelier will guide you in choosing the best wine in a simple and passionate way. Excellent quality wines, but above all from small, local and natural wineries... A bottle of Montepulciano came home with us!

11/03/2025: Ogni volta che vado a Montepulciano vado o a pranzo o a cena si mangia da Dio e poi per chi è amante delle birre c'è un assortimento per tutti i gusti top conviene prenotare per tempo e sempre, non è molto grande ed è sempre pieno

02/03/2025: Already famous for an amazing selection of craft beers, the other pleasure at Bottega Matta is Mamma in the kitchen making the truly traditional dishes of the zone. Silvio is the maestro of beers and has won me over with different tastes every time (and I go often!). Don't miss this treasure, just 5 minutes from Montepulciano.

24/05/2025: Pranzo con i cugini in questo locale sabato 24 Maggio ; locale pieno per un “novantesimo” più altri tavoli e quindi molto ‘rumoroso ‘ . Però arrivati i pici al ragù di chianina tutto è passato in secondo ordine: pici da urlo , porzione decisamente abbondante e super conditi di ragù. Di secondo una tagliata molto tenera e saporita ( magari un po’ piccola ) e patate fritte. Tiramisù deludente , poco inzuppato e crema ‘ piatta ‘ . Caffè molto buono . Servizio in sala e in cucina molto efficiente, tre camerieri per un centinaio di persone molto svegli e gentili . Conto onesto , ;0 euro a persona . Ottimo per gustare specialità della zona

29/04/2025: Vintage place, with very attentive and kind staff without being intrusive. The vegetable pie and the pizza are excellent, large and tasty. Try the Chianciano cake, a local specialty: sponge cake soaked in almond liqueur and custard.

18/05/2025: We were here in 4, motorcyclists from various parts of Italy on a quiet evening, even though it was 9.30 pm and many restaurants did not let us eat here we not only fed ourselves but had fun and learned about culture, the owner is one of the few restaurateurs who still today embraces classic catering where at the table you enjoy flavors and sharing. There are fewer and fewer places like this, thanks again for the splendid evening. Regarding the food, impeccable, the superb wine recommended with great experience. A great surprise also the bill, more than honest.

01/06/2025: A beautiful restaurant just a few meters from the entrance to the old town. An incredible wine selection with extremely competent advice. Excellent food, upscale, with a slightly more unusual interpretation of Tuscan cuisine than in many other restaurants. Extremely attentive service. I would have gladly given it even more stars... One of the best restaurants in the heart of the old town!

31/05/2025: Expectations were high, but the quality of the dishes did not live up to the final bill. The fried cuttlefish had a predominant flavor of oil, completely covering it; The pigeon, presented as an important dish, literally consisted of two small pieces on the plate, with no balance between quantity and price. At the beginning of the dinner, unlike all the other tables, we were not served the welcome tasting. An oversight can happen, of course, but when we pointed it out at the cashier, the owner responded with a laconic "it can happen", without even apologizing or offering a gesture of courtesy. The service was average, but overall the quality/price ratio was unbalanced. We will not return.
