31/03/2026: Excellent place to get a cozy lunch near Cathedral del Duomo. Many options for vegetarians and the menu reflects the local Toscana specialties. Kitchen is open and sort of noisy, and we had to request plates a couple of time, but otherwise the service was respectful and courteous.

27/03/2026: Osteria Bonelli was easily the highlight of our entire trip in Italy. After traveling through Venice, Rome, and Florence, this spot in Siena took the top prize for us. We stopped in for lunch on a Friday and were surprised it wasn't busier, this place is a total hidden gem that deserves a line out the door. We ordered the lasagna and the yellow squash risotto, the lasagna was perfectly cheesy and rich, while the risotto had an amazing, deep nutty flavor. We paired everything with a local Chianti that was excellent. The atmosphere was awesome, featuring a perfect blend of historic stone walls and cozy, warm lighting. Pricing was very reasonable, if not on the cheaper side, for the experience we had. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making the experience even better. If you are in Siena, do yourself a favor and skip the tourist traps for this place instead. You won’t regret it.
