24/05/2025: We passed by this restaurant quite by chance, and my boyfriend liked it so much he reserved a table for dinner. Since we hadn't looked at the menu beforehand, we didn't realize it wasn't a "regular" restaurant, but rather a Michelin-starred restaurant (even though they don't have one YET). We ordered our dishes, probably a bit unprofessionally, and the waiter explained each dish very professionally and expertly. When my boyfriend asked for salad, the owner, somewhat offended, said that you should eat salad at home; he runs a fish restaurant. In retrospect, we had to chuckle about it 🤣 Presumably, both the owner and his waitress were having fun with us 😅 Despite our language barrier, the service was truly top-notch, and the quality of the food was also excellent. When we're back in Piombino, we'll be back 👌

29/04/2025: One of my and my boyfriend's favorite places, every time we pass by Carbonifera we always book with them. We have never been disappointed by this place and this time too it proved to be perfect! The place is welcoming and really beautiful, particular and always has that reserved air! (The ladles around the room are the touch that makes the difference) The owners and the guys in the room are really friendly and kind, always very attentive and always ready to give advice. The food and the quality of the fish is truly excellent, dishes that are always present and excellent off-menu novelties that always follow the season. I highly recommend this place and will be back as soon as possible!

06/05/2025: Siamo di Roma e abbiamo passato il ponte del primo maggio a Campo all’olmo. Siamo passati lì al mare così tanto per,ma essendoci fermati per pranzo volevamo mangiare qualcosa di sfizioso in spiaggia. Il point di vendita è molto carino,ha diversi tavolini dove accomodarsi. Il cibo è veramente squisito,anche la possibilità di portar via l’abbiamo apprezzato veramente tanto. L’unica pecca è stata la tempistica,c’è quasi sempre la fila,ma vi assicuro che ne vale la pena.

06/06/2025: I had dinner with a friend I had the caciucco, very good My friend had the mussels with pepper and caciucco. She doesn't eat flour and sugar, I don't eat garlic or spicy food, we were listened to and satisfied with attention and cordiality. Excellent service, always smiling and with attention to the customer's dietary needs. So highly recommended

10/05/2025: Food was okay, but nothing special. Service was nice. A bit too expensive (simple panino €9). Unfortunately, you also have to pay a totally overpriced parking ticket if you want to eat there.

24/05/2025: We actually wanted to go to another restaurant, but it wasn't open, so we went to this one instead. The chefs were standing in front of the entrance, smoking, which didn't make a good impression at first. The interior is tasteful, and the view would have been really nice – if the windows weren't all covered in fingerprints and dust. The menu is only accessible via a QR code and only in Italian, which makes it a bit difficult for foreign tourists to understand. Even Google Translate didn't work on the website. In our case, a printed version of the menu would have been very helpful. We ordered more or less blindly and were surprised. The food was of good quality, but the portions were very small, which we didn't realize. We would have had to order four courses to be full. So, for starters, I had 4 unidentifiable little balls, for main course, 6 mini fish fingers with 2 slices of onion (which was passed off as a red vegetable), and for dessert, a chocolate-coated cheesecake and coconut ball. The flavor was really good, and the older gentleman also put a lot of effort into the service and put his heart and soul into it. Nevertheless, I was a bit disappointed because I went home hungry despite the higher price.

20/04/2025: A restaurant discovered by chance but which has certainly remained among my absolute favorites for the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. Excellent raw material processed with care and professionalism, nice place and fair prices. We will definitely return even though it is an hour's drive from us.

05/06/2025: An inn outside of time and patterns. An authentic place where you can still breathe the true soul of Piombino from the past. Formalisms, labels and starred cuisine are banned, if you go to Mangiafuoco you do it to live an authentic experience, breathing, deeply, the true essence of a territory, made of traditions, jokes but, above all, of the sea! At Mangiafuoco you will find real fish, cooked with great skill and respect for the raw material, transformed into dishes that vary from day to day, based on the morning's catch. The dishes are generous and authentic and, in this, perfectly reflect those who cook them. The prices are affordable, within everyone's reach, and the service is informal but always courteous. Mangiafuoco is not for everyone but it certainly represents an obligatory destination for those who are still looking for a true experience, without the filters and appearances that characterize today's world. 25/05/2025: Mastarna Pub. Se Piombino fosse il polpo finito nel panino del Panvinaio o servito sui piatti di Mamma Carla, il Mastarna sarebbe sicuramente uno dei cuori pulsanti del centro tentacolare della città. Un pub rivisitato, con sapori misti sia nell'ambiente che sul menù, dall'Americano a punte di Tex Mex, ma il tutto preparato e servito con l'amore Italiano che c'è nella nostra cucina. Un posto che ti colpisce subito, rispetto a tutti gli altri locali per la sua vitalità ed energia. Fra tutto il personale spicca Rita, la proprietaria del Mastarna, un concentrato di vitalità, sorrisi e duro lavoro. Veniamo accolti con cortesia, prima da una ragazza dello staff di Rita, e poi da Rita in persona, che ci accomoda in 5 minuti. Ci riconosce subito, per averci servito il pranzo al Panvinaio, sempre una sua attività, che gestisce insieme al trittico dell'osteria Mamma Carla e del Mastarna. Un gruppo di attività gestite con successo da 30 anni. E il successo si vede, il servizio è cortesissimo e impeccabile, e Rita, con grande spirito di abnegazione, orchestra con una sprizzante allegria e coinvolgimento, senza esimersi dallo sparecchiare anche un tavolo, o servire una bibita. Iniziamo col bere, prendiamo una Schweppes Lemon che chiediamo di modificare con la cola e una Heineken. Il cibo sul menú è invitante, onestamente complice il mare abbiamo una fame da lupi. Optiamo per un fritto box da dividere, un Montanaro Burger e un Porko Esagerato con pulled pork e polpette! Il fritto è asciutto, ben preparato, i fiori di zucca sono perfetti. Ottimo inizio! Aspettiamo i panini, immersi nella musica e nell'entusiasmo del locale. Arrivano, la vista è eccellente e decidiamo di partire dal Montanaro, dai sapori delicati e profumo di funghi, che ha l'unico difetto di finire in tre morsi! Buonissimo. E poi... Il Porko, smezzato, per fortuna mangiato alla fine, perché ha un sapore deciso e pieno, il pulled pork è succulento e la polpetta gli fa degnamente da spalla. Ci sazia morso dopo morso, con grande soddisfazione. Veniamo lasciati tranquilli e mangiare e a goderci il locale e ci viene chiesto se vogliamo il dolce. Prendiamo il brownie, semplice ed efficace, con i sapori di fragole panna cioccolato e vaniglia che si sposano perfettamente. Finiamo la serata chiacchierando brevemente con Rita, promettendole che torneremo. Sarà sicuramente un piacere❤️!
