03/05/2026: English first, Italian second... If you're considering eating here, do yourself a favor and don't. This place is the opposite of what it advertises. We paid €3 per person for “coperto” and received five tiny, tasteless bread slices that felt like leftovers from a hospital tray. The “pasta with octopus” was actually six overcooked ravioli — 20€ for six pieces. That's not a portion, that's a joke. The sauce tasted like someone stopped caring halfway through. As a certified cook, I can say confidently: this wasn't a meal, it was a rip‑off. The total bill was €50, for mediocre food, and an experience I wouldn't repeat. In a room that was already too hot its still an experience. The staff was basic. The view was basic, nothing special, and the whole place felt tired. The toilet? Broken handle, no urinal, everyone forced to aim at the same tiny bowl, and the light turns off while you're sitting there. It feels like a design flaw nobody bothered to fix. And honestly, the only genuinely beautiful thing about the whole place were the waitress's eyes - Nice eyes don't save a bad restaurant. In short: Overpriced, underwhelming, uncomfortable, forgettable. The only thing you'll remember is the disappointment. If you're thinking of eating here, do yourself a favor and skip it. 02/05/2026: We ate a plate of rice with squid ink, a very small portion, a small plate of cacciucco and two desserts. We paid €90, which seems really dishonest to me.
28/04/2026: Given its location and decor, this restaurant deserves much better management. A terrible experience due to a complete lack of professionalism. I made a reservation for 1:30 but showed up early. I asked a very rude waitress if it was possible to change tables due to the wind, and she gave me a rude answer. A gentleman who always seems kind and friendly, to be honest, arrives and immediately moves me inside. I order an appetizer of fish balls (three mini fried meatballs smothered in mayonnaise, I think; they fry in a couple of minutes, Ed.) WHILE WAITING for the spaghetti to cook. After 45 minutes, I asked for an explanation and was told they were NOW frying them. I asked to cancel the order and proceed with the spaghetti, and contrary to the apologies I expected, I received rude and argumentative comments from both the waitress and an extremely rude and disrespectful woman who, I later discovered, was part of the owner family. What can I say... after 55 minutes, I said goodbye and left. To be completely honest, I'll point out that I asked to pay for the glasses of wine I had consumed (partially), and the polite and courteous gentleman (whom I hope will one day work in a place worthy of his kindness and courtesy) refused to accept payment, while the "owner" continued to be rude and indecent. Yet I had been there the previous year and had a pleasant experience, even being surprised by the very low review scores. Today, however, I can explain it very clearly. I hope all Baratti users will sooner or later sell to someone more capable, because they don't deserve the privilege of such an exceptional position. Reply to your reply. Congratulations, you've managed to further discredit yourselves. Given that it's clear you're incapable of serving 50-60 people in a timely manner, the problem wasn't the time, but your lack of respect and rudeness, which, reading the negative reviews, seems to be a hallmark of yours. Perhaps you'd learn to apologize, and perhaps the time will be less of an issue. I believe you've been there since 1985. Unfortunately, they fall for it. But you don't deserve it.
