If you’re anywhere near Osteria Maccalè — GO. Seriously. We had the most amazing experience here today. The sweetest Italian lady took care of us, and even though she didn’t speak any English, she made it work so effortlessly — honestly it made the whole experience even more special 🥹 The food? Unreal. One of those meals you keep thinking about hours later. I’m convinced you could point at anything on the menu and it would be incredible. Pro tip: bring a translator (Google Translate will be your best friend 😂), but don’t let the language barrier scare you — it’s 100% worth it. I would eat here every single day if I could

The restaurant is very simple, well-run by a lady who's always smiling. The food was well-made and delicious; I really enjoyed it.

A wonderful culinary experience, as you can see from the photos. The place is small, very comfortable, I might even say intimate, all complemented by the two very young and enthusiastic owners. The food is spectacular, from appetizers to main courses, and the wine is excellent, the latter also paired with the preparation of the person who recommended it. The tiramisu and lemon cream are worth a try. The tozzetti are excellent. The homemade pasta is delicious. I highly recommend it.

It's the restaurant I've been to the most...what can I say? Kindness, courtesy, good home cooking, and a touch of familiarity. It's like grandma's Sunday lunch, now out of fashion. If you're looking for a family-friendly place with an old-fashioned, homey feel, this is the place for you.

Today we went to this little restaurant that was recommended to us, and it was a pleasant discovery! Authentic dishes and local ingredients are the perfect combination for an excellent lunch. The restaurant is also part of a wonderful initiative to promote the local area, sponsored by the San Giovanni delle Contee Community Cooperative.
