26/08/2024: Splendid internal and external LOCATION with attention to the smallest details. I have been to places of this level a few times, but for the few I have visited, this one surpasses them all and not only for the environment but for the food and the service. OPTIMAL
26/08/2024: This time we tasted the gourmet breakfast offered on Sunday morning. An excellent selection, the sweet part a delight (the leavened products really deserve it), we then continued with cured meats, cheeses and toast. Everything excellent and with attention to the smallest details. The staff took care of our every need with kindness and courtesy. This restaurant is our favorite place, coming back is always a pleasure.

06/08/2024: We stayed here for 3 nights finally in the fresh air, we had a wonderful time, comfortable rooms, top cleanliness, excellent service and excellent food too! Andrea and his wife are very kind and very helpful, a truly family atmosphere. The point is also strategic for excursions of all kinds by bike and on foot.
The Casentino forests are a spectacle!
We will be back for sure

27/07/2024: We had dinner in this restaurant because it was mentioned in the guide; to our regret, poor quality food, very salty, expensive dishes compared to what is offered. Pappardelle with hare overcooked and unseasoned, the sauce had the consistency of canned tuna;
The rabbit in porchetta was actually boiled; but we took it with a smile together with two Danes who supported us.
22/06/2024: Wer authentische Toskanische sucht ist hier richtig. Es gibt auf der Karte immer nur eine kleine Auswahl an Gerichten. Geschmacklich sind die Speisen wirklich hervorragend. Das Restaurant ist recht einfach eingerichtet, aber so ist es in der Toskana nun mal. Die Inhaberin ist super freundlich und spricht auch Englisch. Geöffnet hat das Restaurant nur vom Freitags bis Sonntags, und nur am Samstag haben Sie auch am Abend geöffnet. Hauptsächlich kommen hier einheimische zum Essen. Das spricht zum einen für die Authentische Küche und zum anderen erklärt das halt auch die Öffnungszeiten.
Das Restaurant ist mehrfach im Guide Michelin erwähnt worden als entsprechendes Authentisches Restaurant.
Aufgrund der wenigen Tische muss man unbedingt vorher reservieren.
Bezahlen kann man auch mit Kreditkarte und auf Anfrage sind auch Hunde erlaubt.

09/08/2024: I visited this restaurant for 3 consecutive evenings and I had the opportunity to try most of the menu and I can say that all the dishes I tried were very good, the ragù is special, the meat is cooked just right and very soft, the homemade desserts are perfect. The staff has always been very kind and very helpful. Highly recommended place I will definitely return.

11/08/2024: Più che ristorante la definirei una trattoria pizzeria a conduzione familiare, ma non in senso peggiorativo ma per esaltare la vera cucina casalinga di una volta. Tra l'altro la qualità degli ingredienti è ottima e i prezzi buoni. Ci torneremo sicuramente.

Ristorante Locanda dei Baroni

05/08/2024: Returning from our holiday we stopped in the wonderful Camaldoli and had lunch on the external garden veranda of the Baroni inn. The service was excellent and the young girl who served us was very nice and kind, also suggesting very good and excellent quality dishes such as the final dessert. Recommended place.
30/06/2024: In addition to the campsite (also managed by him), it is the only accommodation facility in Camaldoli. If you can't find a place with the friars (always busy, you have to book well in advance), you have to suffer the blackmail of this monopolist. Prices highly higher than those in the area, mediocre structure, quite arrogant manager. Even for catering, as there are no grocery stores and other facilities, one is almost forced to rely on him (who also manages the restaurant). The food is good but the prices are high. We were on half board but there were supplements to pay on almost the entire menu, and we also had to pay for water (it was found on the table without us ordering it, it's not done that way, if you put it there it must be free) .
If you are forced to use this monopolist, don't take half board, for dinner at the friars' place you can eat for 14 euros. Very disappointing experience overall.

02/08/2024: Best location in town. Always a nice spot under the trees with a view of the castle (entrance 30 meters further). Nice service and delicious sandwiches/burgers. Prices are excellent (with an additional 20% service charge).
20/07/2024: In front of the castle of the Guidi counts, very inviting in the middle of the greenery with outdoor tables, there is a very nice bar. I recommend the Chianina meat burgers of various combinations made on site. Good service.
