06/04/2024: Beautifully located with a fantastic view over Taormina and the Mediterranean, yet not overcrowded and in keeping with the mood of this great city. Friendly and charming staff. Without a doubt one of the best pizzas we have ever eaten for a reasonable price. We will come back!

06/11/2023: 5 stars is not enough to sing the praises of the Villa Ducale! This stylish and magical hotel was the 1st stop on our honeymoon. My husband and I arrived cranky after the airline lost our luggage. But any upset we felt was immediately forgotten the second we stepped foot on this beautiful property where we were met by the kindest staff who greeted us with a glass of Prosecco and a snack, and showed us to THE most stunning hotel room with a private terrace overlooking all of Taormina, the sea, and Mt. Etna. The views, comfort, cleanliness, and gracious staff are enough to make this a 5-start experience, but the food takes it over the top. With a wide-selection breakfast buffet and exceptional dinner, these were some of the best meals we had on our 12 day vacation eating our way across several cities. The Ducale is truly a dream, don't hesitate, book it!

01/04/2024: Fantastic, great views, amazing food and lovely service. We had the melanzane and the fish tartare for antipasti, and both were amazing! Then we had the gnocchi with sicilian pesto, and spaghetti vongole for our main courses, and they were even better. Amazing place, very recommended!

23/10/2023: Great food and service. There is one waiter and he is quick and efficient. Recommend pasta with basil pesto and prawns.

16/10/2023: This was hands down the best meal we had while we were in Taormina. The pasta was outstanding. La Zegara seems to have seen veganism as a challenge to undertake, and offers creative, perfectly balanced totally plant based meals. The pistachio macaroni was a revelation, the pesto spaghetti totally spot on. The service was friendly, quick and efficient, which is always appreciated when half your table are impatient children. The house white wine was lovely too. We'll be doing our very best to recreate some of the dishes we had in our own home.

08/01/2024: Visited with my husband & 2 boys who were initially disappointed there wasn’t any pizza on the menu but ended up having the best carbonara they’d had & tried some sea food too. The service was fantastic, good wine suggestions & kept topping our glass up before we needed to ask. Very happy family experience

29/03/2024: Located in an alley of the central Via Atenea, a new elegant and welcoming location. Very fresh food, menu full of fish-based dishes with quality dishes and an interesting wine list, generous portions. I returned twice within a week to taste the dishes prepared by Chef Salvo and recommended by Federica. Excellent value for money. Excellent in everything!

03/04/2024: Nice place, owned by an older couple who also serve themselves. Some of the food was good and tasty, but some of it wasn't at all. We had to return a pizza twice because the dough wasn't completely cooked through. A pity.

31/03/2024: To round out a 2 week whirlwind tour of Sicily, my wife and I chose Médousa for our final nights due to proximity of Taormina to Catania airport for a 6 am departure. Its location just outside or really part of the city walls and a short 10 minute walk to Porta Catania parking garage ticked off my boxes for easy in and easy out with our car rental. The level of service, beauty and absolute charm ticked my wife’s and mine both. Loris was prompt with messages prior to arrival and made us feel at home once we arrived. The suites are extremely comfortable and well appointed with a patio that grants a gorgeous view of Etna. The grounds are part of the city walls and adorned with orange trees that were in full intoxicating blossom during our visit. The walls and garden provide a quiet and calm that is welcome after venturing into the crowded streets and attractions of Taormina itself. The bonus was the bistro. Part of why we chose Medousa was interest in the imbedded Bistro. Unfortunately a few weeks prior to arrival we were advised that construction work to prepare for the upcoming season was not likely to be completed until after our stay. To our surprise on the day of our arrival the bistro opened with its new menu and we would have the chance to dine. While poking around the grounds I was welcomed into the bistro to take a look at the chef’s creations. He had prepared a tasting menu for the staff so they could familiarize themselves with the fare. Needless to say I was excited. We made reservations for dinner the following night. After touring the sites in the morning of our only full day in Taormina both of us were touristed out and while there are plenty of excellent restaurants in Taormina with views of the ocean, we chose to retreat to our quiet garden bistro for lunch. Nothing short of spectacular is all I can say. Service was superb and over a bottle of champagne we dined on the octopus hot dog (it’s divine), the avocado tacos, sashimi and tartare. After watching the candlelight Good Friday procession through Corso Umberto 5 minutes walk from the hotel we again dined at the bistro for our final meal in Sicily. It was even better than lunch and I can’t say enough about the chef and quality of service! If in Taormina do not miss this special little place.

30/03/2024: Great homemade food and very well priced, it gives you a break after how expensive everything is in the rest of the town. We tried the melazzane, the lasagna and for dessert the tiramisu (homemade made to order), all exquisite! Antonio was also very nice, it didn't take long to serve us the food. We were sitting on the terrace, it was a very pleasant night.
