28/09/2025: This place was recommended by several people. The pizza experience was quite good; if it weren't for the rest, I would have given it 4/5 stars. What lowered the average was the lack of clarity regarding both the reservation and the service. I called to make a reservation and was told that the table would be occupied by other customers starting at 8:00 PM and would be free as soon as it became available. I arrived at the restaurant at 9:30 PM and, after informing the staff of our arrival, we waited patiently. While waiting at a convenient table outside, we saw our designated table become available at 9:45 PM, but they didn't seat us until 10:00 PM, the time listed in their reservation book. Once seated, we ordered appetizers and pizzas. We chose "peeled potatoes" from the menu and expected them to be the actual potatoes, but instead, they delivered classic French fries. Which in itself isn't a big deal; the problem lies in pointing it out to the waitress, who replied, "These are potatoes with their skins on. When you fry them, the color of the skins has faded, but they're still there," which left us very perplexed. As I said at the beginning, the pizzas are quite good; the problem lies in the lack of clarity in communication. There's nothing wrong with saying "we're out of potatoes with their skins," but what's more annoying is the attempt to mock us, as if we'd never seen potatoes with their skins. I'd come back to try other pizzas; I hope I can change my mind about the rest.

21/03/2026: Sicily is famous not only for its stunning sea and dreamy landscapes, but also for its extraordinary cuisine. During summer vacations, it's almost natural to search for the best restaurants to sample typical local dishes. After trying several places in Noto, Ortigia, Marzamemi, and other towns, I never imagined that my absolute favorite would be La Capannina. It's a family-run trattoria, passed down from generation to generation, where passion and dedication are passed down with it. Every dish we tasted was simply exceptional: authentic flavors, quality ingredients, and a cuisine that truly captivates. Even the pizza is amazing, so much so that it can compete with those of the best Neapolitan pizza makers. And then the cannoli... without a doubt the best I've ever had in Sicily: light, delicate, delicious, or perhaps indescribable, you have to try it!! A place worth the trip. I would return to Sicily just to eat at this extraordinary trattoria again.

03/01/2026: Truly disappointing. The pizzas were smaller than normal, almost undercooked, so much so that they looked like the same dough as the frozen pizzas you buy at the supermarket. The waiters were kind, there were two of them, and they both wore gloves to spread the toppings on the pizzas as they came out. All this while they were serving, clearing the table, and throwing things away. I saw a nice tub of prosciutto opened straight from the discount store and slapped it on the pizza. The result? I left all the toppings on my plate.
