24/03/2025: Excellent value for money. The pizza is well seasoned, with good ingredients and light, crunchy dough. It is not the best in Palermo, but given the prices and the variety of dishes available, I would recommend it for those who are not looking for sophisticated places with absurd prices, but something quiet without too many pretensions

29/01/2025: I accidentally found this cafe near the embankment. Because of the winter, all the restaurants and cafes in the area were closed. It turned out to be a canteen with delicious food. I took vegetarian food and ate for 6.5 euros

01/03/2025: I strongly advise against it... orders in a barbaric way that are out of the ordinary... constant pushing in front of the pizza counter to wait for your turn... you already pay before having dinner... and if you want more drinks you have to repay otherwise you can't drink.... In front of the checkout, kilometre-long queues, an absurd confusion... they made us sit without having prepared a long wait to understand what to do as it was the first time in this nightmare pizzeria... non-existent staff, I strongly advise against it ever again.... The ballarò market is 1000 times better in comparison….

01/03/2025: One of the best restaurants in town. Just good taste and presentation, with reasonable price, no pretentious Michelin BS we tried elsewhere in Sicily that tried too much to impress but failed even in the most basic aspect of cuisine such as the amount of salt! Balata is just pure culinary cuisine, with excellent transparent display of competent chefs at work. (You can even talk to them and ask questions! They’re that friendly). The waiters are friendly and communicative. We just had to keep coming back here and open yet another bottle of their fantastic Sicilian Syrah wine. Can’t believe some clueless clients have them one star. You want huge portion? Go to a pizzeria.

03/02/2025: I booked last week and once I got there the place was closed. I have not received any notice regarding this closure. Furthermore, on the same day, I received an email with booking confirmation.

23/02/2025: My boyfriend and I went to this place on a Saturday night. A welcoming location with rather bright lights and a lively atmosphere. The service guys were very kind. The owner was professional and helpful. He recommended a bottle of wine that turned out to be exceptional, not present in the wine list; the jewel in the crown of the local cellar. We wanted to eat steak, and in fact he presented us with a decidedly inviting Madonita scottona, which arrived cooked at the table after about 10 minutes, also served with chips with the skin. The homemade bread was delicious, with a special fragrance. Careful attention to celiac disease (my boyfriend is intolerant to gluten), in fact the place has the AIC certification. We ate more desserts (4), all 10 and praise, We were happy with the bill. Surely if we pass by here again, we will return.

03/01/2025: We went for the New Year's Eve 2024 dinner, to say something rubbish and a compliment, a horrendous menu devoid of quality, not to mention the DJ was a first experience in my opinion, music without any logical sense, without talking at midnight (no count down), the staff on the other hand were nice and professional, but this is of no use when there is nothing basic. I'm sorry but I don't recommend 110 euros stolen. I will definitely never go to this place again.

28/12/2024: I celebrated my eighteenth here last November: excellent and abundant food, with a huge choice even for every single starter. Excellent photographer, really nice and good; the DJ was also very nice, and made an excellent mix between songs chosen by me and commercial music. We had a great time, the staff were really welcoming and it felt like home. I highly recommend it, I hope there will be other opportunities.

25/01/2025: pizza davvero ottima. sfortunatamente l’attesa è stata di ben 2 ore, tale che la mia fidanzata ha dovuto intrattenersi giocando a clash royale. per 20 minuti siamo stati senza niente sul tavolo, ci sono passati davanti senza prendere i nostri ordini più e più volte, c’è voluta un’infinità di tempo per preparare SOLO 2 pizze…per quanto tempo hanno perso non abbiamo nemmeno ordinato un antipasto. sconsigliato il sabato sera. staff non gentile, ci hanno depennato dalla lista di chi aspettava ancora prima di sederci (se non gliel’avessimo ricordato non ci saremmo mai seduti). insomma… quanto meno il prezzo giusto.

A place with a romantic atmosphere, background music and dishes....excellent! We were outside in the gazebo and it was raining but it was great!! Well done, keep it up. A compliment also for the pizzas, fabulous

01/03/2025: Excellent experience. The other evening we decided as a family to go to the Cerino d'Oro for dinner. We have been customers for a long time but this time I want to attest to our satisfaction both for the food (a chicken that melts in your mouth, baked potatoes, delicious onion rings and a nice beer) and for the precious service rendered in particular by the excellent Mr. FILIPPO with whom a cordial but always formal and professional relationship was immediately established. It made a difference! Top chicken eaten locally in Palermo. Nice location. Elegant, clean and refined environment.

01/03/2025: Sono stato in questa pizzeria per la prima volta: il locale è accogliente e caratteristico e dà una gradevole sensazione di calore, i titolari sono molto gentili ed attenti alle esigenze del cliente, il servizio è veloce (serata infrasettimanale), l'assortimento di antipasti/pizze/birre/dessert è veramente notevole. L'impasto della pizza è ben lavorato ed ha la giusta cottura, il rapporto qualità/prezzo è eccellente. Consigliatissimo, torneremo senz'altro.
