19/04/2026: Family lunch to celebrate a birthday: a medium-sized location overlooking Piazza Duomo, adorned with lovely paintings.
We ate: house-made antipasti, local bread, black pork ragù + pasta with mushrooms, and mixed grill with a side of potatoes.
For those with intolerances or allergies, alternative dishes are available.
Nearby, you can also visit the Motorcycle Museum and take a lovely stroll through the village, climbing the Torre Federico II.
The view at sunset is beautiful!
The only advice for drivers is to be careful on the curves before reaching your destination (very small, two-way streets).
06/04/2026: We arrived cold and hungry after a challenging hike along the Via Normanna. We weren't sure what to expect or what to choose, so we let the chef create a fish menu. To our immense surprise, we ate wonderfully, very generously, even with ancient Margherito wheat pasta and delicious wine recommended by the owner, with whom we had a pleasant conversation afterwards.
Finally, the price was truly very fair. So what can I say... Highly recommended. It's a shame, for us, that it's so out of the way.

One comment for improvement, it would be great to have a smaller bottle of water as for 1 person 75cl is way too much! I ordered a fresh orange juice instead. Staff was very friendly and I felt welcomed! Grazie mille 🙏
09/04/2026: My family and I went here twice in four days - that should speak for itself. Very easy and quick, and the food is delicious. Staff is also very friendly. If you sit outside, the people watching is great, as this restaurant is located on a busy side street.

Given its name and reputation, I expected a guarantee.
It wasn't.
I ordered the pulled pork sandwich.
But I say, on a day when there are few seats and you don't have the excuse of being crowded, how do you serve a cold pulled pork sandwich, an ungrilled bun, and cold fries?
And let's be clear, the quality of the pulled pork is truly good (the best in Messina).
The whole grain bread is good too.
This is all about the desire to work hard and deliver a good, hot product.
These are the basics for anyone who wants to serve hamburgers.
Incredibly, this whole disaster was saved by a super kind and helpful staff.

Pizza is so fast so affordable and darn near perfect! Margarita pizza was a 9.6/10 in my book.
All so nice wait staff plus the location is top notch raw tuna was amazing and the beer was cold I highly recommend you watch the sunset here eat a pizza and drink some beer.
Also right next to beach grab a €7 pizza to go then head to the beach .

14/04/2026: Incredibly delicious, great selection of pizzas and drinks. Cuperto was charged at €6 out of a €42 bill, which is perfectly reasonable.

Tasteless pizza, the dough all on the crust to make it look good, and then tissue paper inside.
Low-quality ingredients. In particular, I got the new one with salty prosciutto, which you can't even find at a discount store. It clearly said mozzarella. Instead, it was a block of scamorza that was rubbery, not even a hint of mozzarella.
I left the pizza whole, a slice missing because it was inedible. I told them it was salty, and they took it away without even apologizing for what happened. Never again.

14/04/2026: I ordered a gluten-free pizza after several recommendations from my daughter and acquaintances, who described it as "spectacular." I was skeptical, so to make my daughter happy, I ordered it. Well, we've been celiac for over a decade, and we've realized that until now, all we've been given is rubbish (I travel a lot and to many parts of Italy). The dough is leavened divinely. Soft yet crispy in the right places. Excellent toppings. I hope to return to Messina soon with my son (who also has celiac disease) to make him eat it!!! I can't imagine how good the one with wheat would be.
But ours... nothing to envy!!!!
P.S.: I'm not a relative; I live 450km away.

30/03/2026: Perfect dinner, I highly recommend the meat menu, which for just €30 will fill you up and give you a little something extra.
The place is excellent, the food is plentiful, and you can taste the quality both in the ingredients and in the way they're cooked.
The young man who served us was incredibly friendly and made sure we had a wonderful evening.
Highly recommended.

17/02/2026: During the beauty fair, we stopped for dinner at this restaurant. We had a lovely meal, with both the first and second courses excellent. All seafood, of course. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing, with soft background music, friendly staff, and fast service.
