23/07/2025: Pessima esperienza, lo sconsiglio vivamente…sono stata due volte, la prima sera ho ordinato un arancino e delle patatine per i miei figli e per me e mia sorella degli spritz che non sono stati accompagnati da nessun stuzzichino ( patatine, arachidi, olive)pur avendo pagato l’aperitivo a prezzo pieno . La settimana successiva ci rechiamo per prendere dei pezzi di tavola calda d’asparto, al bancone è presente il cartello che indica di munirsi di scontrino prima della consumazione, perciò assicurandomi della presenza del prodotto da me richiesto , mi reco alla cassa, peccato che nel frattempo gente maleducata e che salta la fila senza munirsi di scontrino si fa fare il vassoio con il cibo che avevo già pagato costringendomi ad attendere… alle mie lamentele il proprietario risponde che si usa fare così, non capisco a questo punto che senso abbia il cartello sul bancone se la gente fa quello che vuole non rispettando le indicazioni … oltretutto ha un prezzo esagerato per una location mediocre e un personale poco disponibile

22/06/2025: Unfortunately it is no longer the Ottagono bar that I knew 20 years ago, I was there recently and it disappointed me both in terms of service and consumption, I ordered a hot food and while I was consuming it I saw that inside there were two live insects (I had to throw it away), I asked the counter clerk for a glass of water six times who did not listen to me, he was busy chatting about his business with a colleague, I took it, turned around and left and never again.

26/07/2025: Thin-crust pizzas with very good quality ingredients. We really liked the ones we chose: the Messicana, the Tonata, and the pumpkin. They open early and are usually full. You order at the counter, and the outdoor space is spacious, with plenty of tables, perfect.

12/06/2025: Nice place in the countryside, an experience never to be repeated. We asked for a table simply under a gazebo for 2 people (I WAS VISIBLY PREGNANT), the owner with an annoyed expression replied "it's not cold", but anyway she made us sit in the adjacent room, after 5 minutes a lady arrived who brusquely without greeting us told us to get up because she claimed that no one could sit there. That said, large pizza, but lacking in ingredients, with the pizza chef quite folkloristic who complained in a colorful manner without caring about the diners. Family-run place that does not understand that we pay and are not there because we were invited.

13/07/2025: We had a delightful evening at this pizzeria: delicious pizza, friendly, and fast service. The evening was enlivened by live music, albeit a bit dated, alternating with karaoke.

20/07/2025: Please avoid this place. The prices are a scam. They did not give us any drinks menu. We ordered 4 drinks and had to pay an additional 12 euro “coperto” without ordering any food. They said that this is “normal”. Also aperol spritz is 10 euro each. Avoid this place.

06/04/2025: I live not far away and for a lifetime (I'm 46 years old) I've wanted to use them. Finally last night I made up my mind and the dream came true: the pizza is excellent for the raw materials and for cooking in a wood oven; the service was friendly and professional; the setting is wonderfully 80s. Needless to say, I recommend it and I will first of all go back.

15/03/2025: I called at 5.30pm, they assured me that the pizzas would arrive by 9.45pm..at 10.05pm no pizzas had arrived so I called to get news and they told me "they are now coming out of the oven"..it's 10.27pm and still nothing..so they weren't coming out of the oven..the pizzeria is 100 meters from my house!! We trusted them three times thinking that being very close to home they wouldn't be late but every time it's the same thing! Never again! Also because the pizza is nothing exceptional!

01/08/2025: Die Pizzeria befindet sich in einer Nebenstraße der "Luxus Shopping Meile" von Catania. Wir sind zufällig darauf gestoßen und haben sofort einen Platz bekommen. Die Verständigung mit den Bedingungen hat sich als schwierig gestattet, da nur wenig und sehr gebrochen Englisch gesprochen wurde. Die Pizzeria scheint jedoch unter den Einheimischen sehr beliebt zu sein, da ständig Essen abgeholt wurde. Unsere Pizzen waren sehr lecker und für Catania äußerst Preiswert.

26/07/2025: Sono stato in questa pizzeria per cenare con la mia famiglia. Abbiamo ordinato come antipasto delle montanarine, molto buone, e delle pizze con impasto napoletano ottime. Penso sia una delle migliori pizzerie di Catania. Prezzo- qualita in linea con il mercato.

11/07/2025: Ho ordinato due pizze, una margherita con patate e una focaccia vegana. Un incubo. La pizza margherita aveva una mozzarella scadentissima, gusto pessimo al massimo nauseante. La focaccia vegana condita stile pizza pomodorino rucola guacamola e noci...... Sapeva di nulla. Niente uno schifo, cambiate mestiere e carattere, troppo maleducati. 20 euro una. Margherita con patate e un mini focaccia da schifo. E tre miseri tovaglioli. Era un asporto. Cambiate mestiere. Capisco perche il locale i cessi è affollato e da voi e quasi sempre vuoto. Chiudete che é meglio. Lo. Dice uno che di pizze e lievitati se ne intende parecchio.

28/06/2025: Intrigued by the presence of a section of vegetarian and vegan pizzas, I decided to try the section of this pizzeria on the occasion of the Thursday promotion in which the classic pizzas cost €5 and the special ones €7. Once they arrived I sadly noticed that these pizzas, the vegetarian and vegan ones, were not included in the promotion (because they do not fall into the "special" category, I deduce). But why categorize pizzas that, apart from the addition of vegetable cheeses (present only in some, or on request) are simple pizzas with vegetables? What is the difference between these and a green calzone (which is among the classics) and among the many others present on the menu in the classic and special sections? The "vegetarian" pizza itself is not part of this separate list, but it is among the classics (and is included in the promotion). It is clear that the "vegetarian/vegan" section was created for marketing reasons (and in fact, it worked: I placed the order first!) but that is precisely the problem. If you choose to promote yourself as a place that is attentive to the needs of those who follow a plant-based diet (with a page dedicated to the green proposal), excluding these pizzas from the weekly offers makes them "other", "different", and not an integral part of the menu. In this way, you penalize those who make a different ethical or dietary choice, and you betray the spirit of inclusiveness that a veg section should represent. My criticism is therefore not so much about the lack of transparency, as in fact if you refer to the mere title of the section it is right that vegetarian pizzas are not the object of the promotion, but the very choice behind this thing. A true veg-friendly menu should not be limited to a label, but should be fully integrated into the rest of the offer, promotions included, without therefore categorizing them separately as if they were "other". I repeat, the same pizzas could have easily been in the traditional sections of the menu (with possibly the surcharge for plant-based cheeses if requested). I write all this with regret, because the pizza was good, and I would have definitely ordered it again in the future, if I hadn't felt excluded instead of included. The goal of a veg-friendly menu should be to encourage the consumption of plant-based products even for those who are not vegetarian/vegan, but this is not the case and, in fact, in this way, it discourages it.

23/06/2025: I ordered two pizzas on justeat. One called for fried zucchini and instead it came with roasted zucchini. The other called for buffalo mozzarella and it came with a grainy cheese that didn't taste like buffalo. Last but not least, a hair stuck to the mozzarella. The only positive factor was the speed of delivery and the friendliness of the delivery boy.

03/08/2025: To people entering: "Good evening, we've made a reservation." "How many are you?" "We'll set up a table for you." Reservations were unnecessary in our case too; it was a truly senseless wait. After waiting over 20 minutes, they sat us down, forgetting to set the table for quite some time. Menus arrived after another 10 minutes. We waited over 40 minutes for appetizers, and another 40 for pizza. No attention or reassurance was given to a customer who requested attention to lactose-containing foods. No apology for the delay. Terrible service, but the quality of the food is a redeeming factor in the terrible, very sloppy management.

02/08/2025: Truly shameful. We arrive and with a few empty tables and no one waiting, they don't let us sit at a table for two under the umbrella, muttering meaningless excuses, simply because they had no idea how to organize. The girl who supposedly had this list, instead of accommodating us and seating us, just makes us leave without apology. The organization and staff need to be reassessed.
