06/10/2025: The place is long, narrow, and fairly bare. Maintenance is lacking. The pizza isn't as good as others appreciate. The cover charge and water (a 500ml glass only) are more expensive than the pizza itself. The service, at least, welcomes you with a smile, but that doesn't make it a reason to try again. Outdoor space is a small gazebo and a small square in front.

29/09/2025: Dinner with my wife. On the manager's recommendation, we ordered a traditional appetizer, followed by a pasta dish with clams and shrimp, four-cheese gnocchi, and a good white wine. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. Recommended.

19/09/2025: Truly terrible service… A week ago, I went to this place with some friends. To find out if it would be possible to spend the evening there, we called that evening: they said we could easily arrive at 9:45 PM. So my friends and I showed up at that time, but as soon as we entered, they told us we'd have to wait "a bit," as the table we were supposed to have was currently occupied… occupied by people celebrating a birthday. So we decided to wait patiently outside, where, incidentally, there were already other people waiting for another table to become available. I won't deny that my friends and I were tempted to leave and look for another place to spend the evening, because the wait was getting longer and longer. Finally, after an hour and a quarter of waiting outside, they finally sat us at a table. We ordered pizzas, and after a while, they arrived at our table. Unfortunately, I have to say that some of the pizzas we ordered weren't the best, so they weren't even worth the wait... When it came time to pay, my friends and I decided to pay the Roman way. The problem? When splitting the bill, the owner of the restaurant wanted to round up the amount, trying to overcharge us. We were shocked: not only did they make us wait over an hour for a table, but they actually wanted to charge us more than we'd paid, emphasizing that "to apologize" for the inconvenience, they didn't even offer us a small discount, as we expected... Needless to say, we were all very disappointed with this place and the service, which was, to say the least, poor. We will never return, as it's simply not worth it.

The service was extremely poor: once the food was served, nobody checked in to see if everything was alright. The dishes themselves were below standard — the meat was tough and fatty, the lobster was overcooked, and the pasta had an unpleasantly sour taste. When we shared our feedback with the manager, instead of showing understanding or offering any form of compensation, he simply defended the restaurant. This lack of professionalism and customer care made the experience even worse. On top of that, the restaurant’s atmosphere was underwhelming, more reminiscent of a staff kitchen than a place to enjoy a nice meal. Overall, a truly disappointing visit. Service was inattentive from the start — after the food was brought to the table, no one returned to check whether everything was satisfactory. The dishes themselves were disappointing: the meat was tough and fatty, the lobster was noticeably overcooked, and the pasta had a sour, unpleasant flavor. When we shared our concerns with the manager, instead of listening or showing any willingness to resolve the issue, he dismissed our comments and defended the restaurant. This defensive attitude only added to the frustration. The ambiance didn’t help either; the setting felt more like a cafeteria or staff canteen than a restaurant where you would want to spend an enjoyable evening. Overall, a very disappointing visit. Neither the food, the service, nor the atmosphere came close to meeting even the most basic expectations. Answer on the reaction of mister Giordano. Your reply says far more about your restaurant than any review ever could. Instead of addressing a guest’s feedback, you chose mockery — which perfectly explains the attitude we encountered that evening. If the goal was to prove our point about the lack of professionalism, consider it achieved.

15/10/2025: The location is very good, just steps from Porta Rudiae and 350 meters from the Cathedral of the Assumption on Via Giuseppe Libertini. The restaurant is located in an old building and also has a large terrace, but we were a large group and were seated a bit cramped, which meant we didn't enjoy the food, which was otherwise very good. We had an eggplant pie for starters and a well-seasoned fish dish with vegetables for main course. The service was very fast and good, except for the waitress (a brunette with medium-length hair), who charged us for our drinks. She came in loudly and her manners weren't the best. A little more friendliness would be needed to serve the diners.

14/09/2025: We arrived in Puglia yesterday and were hungry. Restaurants here naturally open later than in Germany. Calogero opens as early as 7:00 PM, and the reviews were very good. Absolutely right. We can recommend the restaurant without reservation. If you're looking for a sea view, you've obviously come to the wrong place. But the food is excellent. We had Scottish beef tagliata, grilled and fried vegetables, a pizza, wine, water, a sorbet, and espressos. All of the finest quality. The service was extremely attentive and friendly.
