03/06/2026: Among the plethora of restaurants on the island, one stands out for its tranquility, service, and quality food. It's located on the opposite shore from the docks where the boats dock. You'll find an orderly atmosphere with a spectacular view of the lake. The staff is attentive and meticulous. A special mention goes to Cinzia, who quickly arranged for me to have a table even though I didn't have a reservation. Highly recommended!

27/05/2026: Unfortunately, it ended up being very expensive with cover charge and surcharge; the food was rather quick and not particularly tasty.

29/06/2026: Everything good apart from the pizzas... let's put it this way, You need a spoon to scoop out the liquid in the middle and the pizza chef needs to take a course on how to clean his pizza oven...

09/01/2026: Went as a couple... no beer, I was told it had run out, I thought it was on tap, but they didn't even have bottles... Menu written on an A4 sheet... Asked for pizza with tuna, but the tuna had also run out... just out of politeness we didn't leave... A veil over the pizza...

21/10/2025: I've had the pleasure of eating at Il Pirata on several occasions (birthdays, parties, and even more relaxed dinners) and have always had a great experience. I was there for a party on Saturday, and the delivery times were reasonable, especially since you can't expect pizzas to arrive in 10 minutes when a restaurant is full. The pizzas are very good, and the value for money is top-notch. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which is something you can't take for granted. Highly recommended!

06/08/2026: Food is reasonable but the staff is terrible! Very unfriendly and uninterested. Boss is shouting the whole evening to his staff at the other and of terrace. Food was not arriving at the same time at the table, had to ask if we could get the last plate. A no go in Stresa!

21/03/2026: Locale ottimo, molto soddisfacente anche il cibo compreso il servizio molto veloce e gradevole. Anche l'ambiente non lascia nessun particolare. I proprietari sono veramente squisiti.

31/01/2026: Polenta and sausage, polenta and braised beef, and lamb chops, all beautifully cooked and accompanied by a delicious plate of grilled vegetables! We had a great time, the staff were friendly, and the service was quick. I recommend it.

06/02/2026: Dirty pizzeria. When the place opens, the owner sits at the table playing on his cell phone/smoking, the same tables that then charge €2 per person for the cover charge... they often get orders wrong and take advantage of "oversights," as they call them, to charge extra. The owner is out of place and addresses the ladies as "darling" but seems anything but pleasant; I'd say it's more intrusive and inappropriate. Update September 2024: The owner is a disgusting voyeur who comments on the young girls who walk past his (and filthy) place. I stopped by last night because I live in the area, and I had to walk all the way across the sidewalk past him. From about thirty meters away, he was looking at me with slimy eyes and repeatedly commenting on my outfit (I was wearing a long dress and heels). It was a very squalid 15 seconds. Knowing he would comment, I even have a voice recording of the moment he commented. I forwarded this to all my friends who came for pizza. At almost sixty, commenting on minors is truly disgusting. Edit January 2026: waaaar is oveeeeer, finally the owner got what he deserved and had to close the place. Kisses, handsome 😚😚😚, karma exists

14/02/2026: Misleading hours, I booked online for lunch today, February 14, and the restaurant is closed. I asked the owner, "What's the point of opening from 12:00 AM to 11:30 PM if you're closed at 1:00 PM?"

10/06/2026: Bar/restaurant with attractive prices for good, relatively generous portions. Ideally located on the square. It's just missing a little something to be absolutely perfect.

22/05/2026: Right on the main square. A nice platter accompanied the glass of wine. Very fair price and friendly service.

20/06/2026: Terrible atmosphere, deserted. The service leaves much to be desired. There were four of us, and my pizza arrived after 20 minutes (after the others had already finished theirs). The pizza was cold, tasteless, and a bit undercooked. I asked for mozzarella, but they didn't give it to me. The only good thing was the water. I don't recommend it.

27/06/2026: The waitress was decidedly unfriendly, and probably having a bad day. We'd become regulars at these bars for our summer aperitivos, as they were plentiful and the staff were very friendly, but not anymore: €14 for two drinks during aperitivo time, and not even two crisps from the bag.
