I had booked 10 days before by phone a table of 20 people for the hen party of a dear friend of mine, after a beautiful day we arrived there ready for a nice meal in Testaccio and ... SURPRISE .... Place closed without any warning. I'll let you imagine the panic, Saturday night, Rome, Testaccio, 20 people and a bride to surprise ... fortunately we resolved with an excellent restaurant nearby that helped us and welcomed us by preparing a table at the last minute. We all hope nothing serious happened to close without warning the customers with the reservation ...

05/06/2025: Ieri sera sono stata per la prima volta in questo ristorante in occasione di una cena di lavoro. Locale molto bello, all’interno è possibile vedere anche i “cocci”, lo spazio esterno è gradevole, soprattutto nelle belle sere d’estate. Ho trovato una cucina romana ottima, una grande disponibilità da parte di Michele e dello staff alle svariate richieste da parte degli ospiti e grazie mille per il trattamento che avete riservato a me! Spero di tornare da voi presto!

We arrived at 9:00 PM and ate the first course at 10:15 PM. Fried flowers, which I thought were just dough with a few zucchini flowers, were nothing special. Overall, an average place.

05/06/2026: I went to this restaurant with a friend and we had a very good experience. He ordered a salmon pizza and I ordered a carbonara, and both dishes were simply delicious. Everything was very tasty and well-prepared. The waiters and staff were also super welcoming, friendly, and kind throughout the service. They made the experience even better and were very attentive the whole time. Regarding prices, I didn't find it cheap, but it wasn't out of the average for the time of year and location. I would say the prices were fair within the standard of the area. An important detail is that the bathroom is upstairs, so you have to climb some stairs to get there. Apart from that, everything was very smooth. Overall, I really liked the restaurant and would definitely go back!

First impressions are good: the service is very courteous and attentive, the large display cases display trays of various pizzas, and—surprise, I wasn't expecting it—a bar with draft beer, which I'll be trying soon. The 'ndija supplì was good, but the 'nduja wasn't very noticeable. The pizzas I tried were four different types, quite good, but there weren't any flavors that particularly stood out to me. Overall, I had a good time and will be back.

02/04/2026: I've known them for thirty years. The quality of the food and meat is excellent, coming from a good butcher shop I'm happy to use. The appetizers, fried foods, and pizzas are excellent. "Tant bon che mai," my grandmother would have said. Kind and courteous, we celebrated my parents' golden wedding anniversary there, and I also celebrated my retirement there.

26/03/2026: It's not 4.5 stars at all. The appetizer was horrible, the pizza was acceptable, but the fried food was frozen and full of oil, and they were about to close and turned off the oven while we were eating, so I couldn't order. The bread was plastic, so I had to ask for it.

Last night I called and ordered my usual pan of pizza at the usual time. 45 minutes later, I called, and a rude guy answered who even made me look like a fool: they'd gotten both my last name and the delivery time wrong. If you're going to hire someone to answer the phone, at least make sure they speak Italian, but above all, they're polite.

22/04/2026: My partner and I went to Bisteak for a dinner that, more than just a simple outing, felt like a scene inside a dance studio painted by Edgar Degas: soft lighting, everyday movements, and that suspended atmosphere of a rehearsal room, where the dancers still move between imperfection and grace. The evening opened like a well-executed choreography: a simple but successful appetizer, followed by two convincing main courses. The Milanese cutlet was good, as was the tagliata, both solid and well-executed, like the main steps of a dance that holds the stage. Completing the scene were two side dishes: the focaccia with prosciutto and mozzarella, soft and harmonious, like a gesture repeated in the rehearsal room until it becomes natural, and the pan-fried chicory, along with the thinly sliced ​​French fries, both very good, small lateral movements but perfectly integrated into the choreography. The service, as often happens in rehearsal rooms, wasn't perfectly timed, but it was certainly human and pleasant: the waiters were friendly, pleasant, and helpful, with that attitude that puts you at ease even when the rhythm of the room isn't yet fully balanced. More than a flaw, it was a slight timing discrepancy in an otherwise welcoming dance. The dessert, the wild berry millefeuille, was the most poetic and slightly ironic moment of the choreography: it was drizzled with wild berry syrup, without actual pieces of fruit and without the expected layering, like a simplified finale compared to the imagined show. However, it was fresh, the cream was good, and so even the final gesture remained sweet, even if less theatrical. We spent around €40 per person without alcohol: an average amount for an evening that felt more like a ballet rehearsal than a fully finished performance. In short, we had a good time: a tender and slightly ironic painting by Degas, where the dance is there, you can feel it, even if some steps are still being settled in, and this is precisely what makes it curiously authentic.
