25/07/2025: Just one place I would ABSOLUTELY recommend if you're traveling to Rome or this part of the city. We went there twice during our three days here, and the first time was such a pleasant surprise, not only for the exceptional value for money, but also for the kindness and wonderful smiles of their staff! The owner took the time to make us laugh and passionately recommend his products, which was very much appreciated. He also offered us desserts and then served us glasses of their house wine filled to the brim! 😅 In short, a restaurant like few others in a city like few others 🤯

24/07/2025: We were originally headed to a different restaurant recommended by our hotel concierge, but as we walked past Il Fiammifero Strano, we struck up a conversation with the owner. Before we knew it, we were seated at a table — and we’re so glad we stayed. As many have mentioned, the owner is a true character, full of entertaining stories about the food, the wine, and his own adventures. His personality added a unique charm to the evening. The appetizers and entrees were all delicious, and although the dessert menu looked fantastic, we were too full to try it. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out if you're in the area!

24/08/2025: Classic Roman-style pizza, shallow and crunchy. What makes it unique is the light, non-bloating dough, the generous amount of toppings, and the quality of the ingredients. The pizza chef is a true artist and very friendly. I always go very early to get pizza because after 7 pm it's almost impossible to get served due to high demand, so I highly recommend booking for both dine-in and takeout.

06/08/2025: Very nice restaurant, with the option of eating on the terrace, perfect on nice days. The food is excellent and the value is good. I noticed the owner's somewhat rigid attitude toward the waiter, which was unpleasant. But other than that, the experience was really pleasant. I would gladly return!

05/08/2025: A truly beautiful place, with a beautiful view of the Torre di Lavello and excellent food. Special mention also goes to the staff, especially the gentleman who helped us and gave us excellent advice on our choice.

09/08/2025: The place is large, as is the parking lot. It's surrounded by greenery, so it's very pleasant. We went as a group on a Monday, and I have to say I ate well. Excellent pizza, excellent meat, as were the appetizers and desserts. The service was quick and courteous, and the bill was fair. I'll be back as soon as I can... Oh, one last thing....on Monday night, the restaurant was packed. And then I understood why.

03/08/2025: The restaurant is located in the countryside among rows of vines and greenery. We had the best carbonara, and the arrosticini were also excellent, not to mention the excellent vegetarian appetizer, the chickpea cream and sautéed chicory. Excellent value. The staff was attentive and courteous. Highly recommended.

31/07/2025: Highly recommended place. We ate practically alone because of the time. Excellent food. The waitress was attentive, and the dishes were extraordinary. Two pasta dishes, a rack of ribs to share, and two drinks for €60. The place is beautiful, and the background music is pleasant.

05/08/2025: The best restaurant in Rome. I came from Poland with my family, even though we had suitcases and caused a bit of a stir, the staff treated us with respect and kindness. The food was delicious, absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend it! As a tourist, I've never been treated so well. I can definitely recommend anyone visiting Rome to visit! It's a shame you're closed now, because I would come every day. Best regards.

05/08/2025: We came from Poland and chose this restaurant first. I can honestly say I've never eaten better. The service was very friendly and attentive, and despite the communication issues, it was hilarious. Honestly, it's the best restaurant in Rome and probably the only one that doesn't cheat its customers. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

02/08/2025: Beautiful atmosphere, super kind and helpful staff, a truly Roman atmosphere. I had a great time; I found a seat right away, and the service was very fast. Clean and quiet, almost elegant (though I went in very shabby). Spotlessly clean bathrooms. I've attached my receipt to show how much better the quality is than the price. Very cheap for the delicious food (the carbonara dish).

01/09/2025: Unfortunately, the pizza was hard, greasy, and had a hair in it. In terms of value for money, it's very expensive.

27/08/2025: Second day in Rome, although we have been to quite a few places to eat already, this is the restaurant with the most delicious food, the friendliest staff and boss, and the most fun atmosphere. This is one of the restaurants recommended by our hotel when we asked for a place where locals eat. This did not disappoint!

06/08/2025: We stayed for about 7 days in Rome and really struggled in finding a good and nice place to eat without any hidden fees or any waiter trying to get you more bread to charge, but Al Forno della Soffitta was extremely great. The waiters were very friendly and accomodating with foreigners, they loved helping you pair your food with wine and the service overall was great. We only had pasta and pizza from this place because they were that good, but I saw they have some nice lunch menus that are available if you request them. We ate here 3 times and would have gone there more if we found it sooner.

06/08/2025: A place we had near our apartment. Everything was delicious and the service was great. You should go early or make a reservation; it gets packed.

02/07/2025: If someone asked me where to find the worst pasta in the world, I’d probably say here. The pasta we had was incredibly bad — after just a couple of bites, I couldn’t eat any more. Honestly, how do you manage to serve such terrible pasta right in the heart of Italy? If you truly want to enjoy pasta or pizza in Italy, avoid the touristy central spots like this one. Instead, look for more humble, local places tucked away in the side streets. They usually offer better food, more authentic service, and fairer prices. Here, not only was the quality disappointing, but the service also felt arrogant and careless — and on top of that, it was more expensive than average.

04/08/2025: Atmosphere OK. Service annoying. Really annoying. Food barely OK. There are at least 3 times better right next door and everywhere in Rome. Tourist trap.

20/07/2025: We've been coming here with the family for ages (as well as to the Garbatella location), and we've always been extremely satisfied. What can I say? Excellent quality ingredients, pizza that's rarely found anywhere else in Rome (a cross between an American slice and a classic Roman pan pizza, and trust someone who's had their hands in the dough, it's something worth trying at least once in your life. Crispy, flaky, light yet filling...not much to say...Bonè!) The owner makes you feel at home between a chat and a liqueur, and the service is always super fast, courteous, and attentive. In short...if they could give it 10 stars, I would have...but I can't. Special mention goes to the bruschetta, always expertly topped with seasonal ingredients. One of the best in Rome, without a doubt.

19/07/2025: We reserved a table outside by phone, but when we arrived we decided to sit inside instead, and the owner immediately made sure we were satisfied. Delicious fried food, authentic Roman supplì... "al telefono," breaded with panco. Multi-flavor pizza slices, highly hydrated, with a crispy base, delicious, and served on a round board in the center of the table. Small, but intimate and welcoming. Gluten- and lactose-free options available. Definitely worth a try.

09/07/2025: The best place to eat a delicious 100% Italian pizza!!! The best pizza I've ever had in my life. Highly recommended, plus the staff is very friendly.

07/07/2025: In front of the Church of San Saba there is the Holy Trinity of Pizza. The cathedral of the palate where at any hour the pizza is fragrant and crispy. There are the ordinary ones and those with innovative flavors. When in doubt..... all of them!

24/08/2025: Excellent mixed grill The wait staff was very friendly and offered excellent suggestions, accompanied by a genuine smile.

13/08/2025: A trattoria-style restaurant where you can rediscover old-fashioned flavors. It truly feels like you're savoring dishes from days gone by, according to old traditions. Everything is truly excellent, including the kindness of the staff... The prices are decidedly competitive considering the high quality of the food.

12/08/2025: Good portion sizes. Very tasty. And I got a super cool, charismatic waiter. Instantly a super mood. I know that I can always come back here. 🤗

11/08/2025: The worst experience of my life !!! DON’T CAME HERE!!! First of all, overprices we pay more than a 100 euros for 2 plates, there is a guy outside that called himself Mr Roma, an awful guy he scams you and he flirted with my mom even though we made uncomfortable faces !!! The food intoxicated me and was THE WORST CARBONARA OF MY LIFE it had a radioactive yellow color and no taste.
