14/12/2025: It would have been funny to give a low rating, just to avoid being banal. Pino and Mimmo's welcome is worthy of a 5-star hotel. You leave home to go HOME. The raw ingredients in the dishes are excellent and the cleanliness of the hotel is so high that you could eat on the floor. At breakfast, a very affectionate lady serves you and makes sure everything went well. We've been coming here for years every time we visit my aunt :) and we have to go back for the peperone cruscooooo

25/11/2025: Personally, the experience was exceptional. The excellent restaurant-pizzeria's quality dishes, a good selection of bottled beers, both commercial and craft, and a well-stocked wine cellar. The bar was well-stocked and functional. The rooms were spotless and well-appointed. The breakfasts were top-notch, with excellent croissants, savory options, quality juices, jams, honey, and freshly baked cakes. What more could I say? Friendliness, warmth, and professionalism? Absolutely! Highly recommended! We'll be back very soon. 💯

The restaurant is very chic, well-kept, and elegant, while maintaining the spirit of a historic trattoria. The service is fast, friendly, and always available, without ever being intrusive. The cuisine is strongly rooted in local tradition, with well-executed dishes, quality ingredients, and elegant presentations that enhance each course without distorting their flavors. The portions are appropriate, and the cuisine is straightforward, without unnecessary pretension. Overall, a more than positive experience, ideal for a dinner for two. Recommended for those seeking local cuisine, elegance, and an excellent balance between quality and value.

12/02/2026: When we're in Matera, my husband and I have been choosing Ristorante Pizzeria Van Gogh for years because it's an absolute guarantee: excellent dishes, from appetizers to first and second courses of meat and seafood, and to round out the meal, the desserts are truly delicious. Their absolute kindness, helpfulness, and attentive service are a plus, making this the best culinary experience in the city. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lunch and/or dinner that emphasizes quality ingredients, flavor, and friendliness. A special shout out to Bartolo and Mario.

06/01/2026: I can objectively say that in this very nice, welcoming, and clean place, you can eat the best pizza I've ever had in Matera and the surrounding area. This is due to the 24-hour natural leavening with sourdough starter and the QUALITY of the ingredients used in the toppings, which are FRESH and not packaged (which, whether high-quality or not, still contain various preservatives and additives), cooked in a wood-fired oven. CHAPEAU! All this with a QUALITY/PRICE/SERVICE ratio that is nothing short of exceptional! Finally, in addition to the kindness and helpfulness of the owners, I can also add the punctuality in delivering the pizzas if you order takeout! Well done, and keep up the good work, TOP!

08/12/2025: Today, Monday, December 8th, I ordered three pizzas, and two-thirds had a short black hair in them. Who knows how many other hairs I ate (hopefully zero), because as soon as I spotted this hair, I spat it all out. My mother did the same, so basically, pizzas tossed. Two hairs is too many; I strongly recommend wearing a swimming cap.

08/02/2026: Came for a nice dinner at 8pm and we were met outside by a nice waiter with a wonderful mustache! He brought us inside and we were given a nice table for 2. Amazing cave-like atmosphere. We had 3 people taking care of us. A beautiful lady (could be owner) explained the wines and we order a nice dry red from her recommendation. Another waiter opened and poured our vino and it was perfect. Then our mustached friend took our order. Started with a nice buffalo margarita pizza - cooked to perfection and delicious! Main course - papparadelle (a bit more narrow than usual) ai fungi porcini- amazing and tasty!!! Also had chittarra ai ricci spaghetti (square) with fresh clams and a sauce that was out of this world!! Finished off with a nice pistachio gelato! All in all a first class A-rated experience!! Molte Bene!! Gratzie!!!!!

15/02/2026: At the lady's recommendation, we chose the house antipasti, traditional local dishes, truly appetizing and fresh. Then came the cavatelli with chunky ragù and an entrecote with fried potatoes. These dishes also exceeded our expectations. The service was very friendly and attentive.
