We were able to enjoy some excellent local food presented with a nice twist. The staff were very welcoming, competent, professional. Very satisfied with the experience. To be recommended.

27/03/2024: Positioned on one of the most panoramic views of Matera, Il Terrazzino is an excellent characteristic restaurant. We had lunch based on typical dishes, an appetizer based on vegetables, local cured meats and cheeses. Advised.

02/04/2024: We were there on March 31st, Easter day. We were on an organized trip and had free lunch, so, not knowing the area, we chose at random, inspired by the entrance to the restaurant and what we glimpsed inside. We were pleasantly struck by the particularity of the restaurant itself, by the attention to the table and the rooms, by the kindness of the restaurant manager who showed us the dishes we chose, including a selection of truly exquisite local cheeses and cold cuts. The first course was exceptional, but the artisanal ice cream they served at the end of the meal was something truly indescribable. Price appropriate for the quality of the food.

I had the octopus with mint, a generous glass of red wine, and a vegetable dish with sausage, while husband had pasta and pork. Every bite was exceptional - even the bread was good. Trust the waiter’s recommendations! Priced very reasonably - paid 42 euros total, including service charge. Excellent deal for great quality food. Highly recommended!

19/03/2024: We expected more. It may be our fault. The viewpoint advertised was for two people. A place called Finestra sui Sassi, should have a good vantage point. We will treat ourselves to some typical Sant Josep fritters.

02/04/2024: One star and not for encouragement and don't be fooled by the positive reviews. I stopped at this place during a trip and left due to the wait after eating only an appetizer. The wait was long and when I pointed it out the owner didn't apologize at all, in fact he himself made a controversy about our rush to get home. When I went to pay the bill it was initially done with "imagination" to the enormous advantage of the merchant and was corrected only after the error was pointed out. Only after paying did I receive an apology. I would add that I was sitting near the toilet door and I had to suffer the discomfort of constantly seeing people passing by who were going to the bathroom and above all I smelled a slight bad smell the whole time because the bathrooms were certainly not very clean.
