16/10/2025: For some time now, whenever we spend a day in Venice, we've tried to plan a lunchtime stop here. The restaurant is also popular with locals, which means the value for money is at least fair. The menu is extensive, but it's always worth asking what's on the daily menu, which, if you arrive early, generally offers a good variety. When we visited, we opted for monkfish with potatoes. The desserts are not to be underestimated. In our case, tiramisu and cheesecake with warm berries... As I said, we stop here at least a couple of times a year and have never been disappointed.

16/10/2025: The photo is of the shocking garlic bread that I paid for.. The vongole tastes better in Korea.. There was no dressing for the salad. They didn't even ask how the steak was cooked ㅋㅋㅋ I felt like we were being discriminated against. We ate it because we were hungry, but the garlic bread really crossed the line. They gave us the receipt and subtly asked for a 20% tip. Ha, I was so pissed^^ I left without giving it. I went there because it was close to my accommodation, but I'm writing a review with great regret.

16/10/2025: The patio is perfect in the Fall with a mosaic of vines and grape leaves catching the light above you as you dine on the delicious dishes of Venice. The lobster risotto is something I dream about a month after returning to the states.

10/12/2025: We went for lunch on Immaculate Conception Monday with 4 people, well-kept environment with a Christmassy atmosphere, we found seats immediately, very varied menu and we ate very well, fast, kind and friendly staff

The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors and clearly prepared with great care and quality ingredients. Every dish we tried was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, giving you a true Italian trattoria experience away from the tourist crowds. The staff was extremely kind, attentive, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. If you’re looking for genuine Italian cuisine, generous portions, and an authentic Venetian experience, Trattoria da Gianni is a must-visit. We truly enjoyed every moment and would happily come back again!

27/10/2025: It's not the first time I've left this restaurant very disappointed, I think and hope it will be a long time before I set foot there again. The price is too high for a restaurant, with waiters lacking good manners and ability in the dining room. Having understood the food, the appetizer trolley was meager (citation needed, we'll come back later..... more seen in reality) and too expensive for the ingredients. The first courses were pathetic and reported. They were left on the table and found on the bill. 60 euros for an appetizer trolley and a first course.

In the on-site workshop, they also make bread, focaccia, and other leavened products, as well as jams, spreads, and other products available for purchase. Attentive and friendly service. The overall quality of the place is due to the owner's passion and knowledge of raw materials!

10/12/2025: We had cream pasta and seafood pasta. Both were reasonably priced for Venice and very satisfying. The service was also very attentive, especially since it was quiet.

08/12/2025: Excellent tourist menu for just €19, with truly delicious, tasty, and well-cooked dishes... not the usual low-quality menu designed to please passing tourists, but a presentation of dishes, from the starter to the main course, and the side dishes, truly worthy of a high-end restaurant. Last but not least, Shazzi, a friendly and welcoming waiter from Bangladeshi, who runs the restaurant with courtesy, kindness, and attention to detail... you'd return just for him. 15/11/2025: It's been a while since I've been back, because it's a bit out of the way. I must say that the first impression when you walk in is superb: a refined atmosphere with meticulous attention to detail. The waiters know their job very well, quick to take orders, and focused on remembering who to bring the dish to. Moving on to the menu, the pizzas are sublime, delicately crusted, perfectly topped, and paired with a good beer. The prices are regular; I'd even call them low for the location. I invite everyone to stop by. It's a spectacle. We were in heaven!

15/11/2025: Today we had lunch here with the staff and players of the Portogruaro Junior team. We found a very welcoming and clean environment, all accompanied by very kind staff. The athletes enjoyed a delicate and light lunch, well cooked and tasty. Some lucky ones among the companions also enjoyed an amazing pizza made with a truly delicious typical Neapolitan dough that had been leavened for over 48 hours (and I say this as a connoisseur and hobby pizza chef).

07/12/2025: We went there for a birthday dinner. We were truly disappointed by this change in management!!! Fifteen of us crowded into a corner of the restaurant. We asked for Roman-style payment and were all forced to pay in cash. They added three beers to our bill on top of what we ordered, and one girl wasn't even given her €15 change (despite insisting she had given it to us).

12/11/2025: The most pleasant surprise of our stay in Venice. Relaxed atmosphere and excellent food. Prices are more than reasonable considering the quality. The charcuterie platter is a delight. The meat and fish dishes are also excellent. I recommend it, but it's probably wise to book, especially in the evening. We were lucky enough to get a table by arriving first thing when they opened, but it filled up very quickly.
