01/08/2025: La Rocca at Castelfalfi is a dream come true if you enjoy masterfully prepared dishes that are composed of locally sourced ingredients and combine flavor and texture in ways you can't imagine. Chef Davide De Simone and his crew really outdid themselves with incredible combinations. Every course of the tasting menu was exceptional and creative, but the escargots and the risotto just blew us away. As always, the people make the difference, in our case Mr Jacopo made us feel at home from the minute we stepped into the gorgeous dining room. His knowledge of the dishes, ingredients and preparation techniques was outstanding, but above all he was a kind person with a captivating smile - and outstanding Spanish skills :-) Thank.you for a wonderful evening, Valeria and Daniel

The locally sourced ingredients shine, and the wine pairings—curated from the resort’s private cellar—are simply impeccable. Service was superb from the minute of our arrival. We were seated in a dining room all to ourselves with breathtaking views and access to the outside. The Manager, Enea and our server, Matteo were outstanding in their hospitality. They were warm and intuitive, striking the perfect balance between attentive and unobtrusive. The staff’s knowledge of both food and wine is impressive, and their genuine passion for hospitality adds a personal touch that lingers long after the final course. Dining at La Rocca feels like being invited to a secret table at the top of the world—a place where time slows, flavors deepen, and every detail is designed to delight. 04/09/2025: I went to this place for the first time tonight and it was a great experience. Parking is convenient in the back. The atmosphere is nice and well-kept. We dined outside. We tried the hot appetizer, the seafood ravioli, the fried fish, and the mixed desserts. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent, too. We'll definitely be back on a Wednesday to try the seafood carbonara. See you next time!

15/09/2025: Great place to go for a light pizza. The pizzas are good and thin, with fair prices. The atmosphere is homey, with plastic chairs outside. Inside, it's a bit noisy. Good selection of beers. A round of applause also goes to the off-menu spaghetti allo scoglio: absolutely excellent!

22/07/2025: An experience that would have deserved an extra star if the price hadn't been so high. The location is enchanting, inside a villa that's often the venue for events or weddings. The restaurant is an ultra-luxury establishment, even boasting a green Michelin star (for sustainability). The dishes are refined, and the menu is undoubtedly high-quality. The dish that made the chef famous, chicken livers with dark chocolate puff pastry, is one to remember. The only downside is the price, as it was more expensive than other restaurants with actual Michelin stars. In short, a highly respectable restaurant, with a menu that may not be cutting-edge but is truly top-notch, and for a few dozen euros less, it would have deserved five stars.
21/06/2025: Overall, extremely subpar experience despite some highlights. Food and service being the lowlights. Of the dishes we tried, 50% were inedible (e.g. mullet, grains). We also had two times where the portion sizes were drastically different between two people at the same table. The servers didn’t do anything about it. For example, the spaghetti portions had one that was 50% the other which was comically bad. Another artichoke dish one plate had 3 and another plate only had 2. Shocking how little attention to detail the restaurant had for being so expensive. The service was also extremely slow (which I can understand given they were busier), but with the price, our expectations were much higher. I don’t recommend anyone coming here because of the lack of quality control and training in service.

14/09/2025: Normal atmosphere, nothing special. Small pizzeria with a few tables inside, plus a few outside. We tried the calzone and fried fish, both excellent. The fried fish in particular is recommended because it's dry and crispy, and very few pizzerias can do it like this. For dessert, the classic BABÀ was a must, where you can truly taste the flavor of Naples. The only downside is the price (too high), but they did offer limoncello (traditionally made). The pizzeria is recommended.
09/09/2025: Food was very good! They have a separate vegan menu and the vegan options were so good. I can recommend it very much. The owners were also very friendly, everyone wanted to say hi to our dog.

06/05/2025: Reading the reviews, it seemed like a retro place but with a simple but valid offer. We happened upon an evening in which it was not possible to eat pizza (perhaps when one makes a reservation, given that it is mainly a pizzeria, perhaps specify it..) due to their problems, we nevertheless decided to stay given the late hour and we regretted it: terrible starters, poorly made first courses and taken away. It's unfortunate because it gave the impression of a tired, finished place... from the staff to the place, I couldn't find a positive note... not even the POS was working that evening. I'm sorry but I would never recommend it.

24/04/2025: Thanks to the friendly staff, I put in 50 euros in cash and had about 10 euros left after putting the gas in the pool. After seeing the receipt, they immediately refunded the remaining amount! The gas station is spacious and comfortable, so I like it!

23/08/2025: It's been a long time since I've been to David 2. We decided to stop for dinner on a warm summer evening. Air conditioning, few people, perfect food, and very friendly staff! We had our dog with us, and he was welcomed without a problem. Recommended!

17/04/2025: I used to go to a place about 8 years ago. The food was good, it was expensive, but it was worth it. Now, however, I'm very disappointed. The entrance was very gloomy, the tables were set very "basic." For an appetizer, I ordered chickpea hummus with steamed shrimp. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't hummus, it was just pureed chickpeas. The only downside was the presentation. The shrimp were mixed with the cream and it looked unappealing. For a starter, I ordered macaroni with pistachio pesto, squid, and clams. They delivered gigli pasta with unblended pesto oil, cheap clams, and flavorless squid. The pasta was obviously pre-cooked and reheated. I refused to eat it, it was horrible. They justified themselves by blaming it on the pasta they get from another pasta shop, and I don't know, but I prefer to remain in doubt. He says that by now they have put macaroni and now even if they are lilies they have decided to leave macaroni... well... let's move on to the second course... cod in a crust with poppy seeds and mashed potatoes. I received 3 fillets without a crust but with poppy seeds. They were full of bones, hard and salty, they had not been soaked enough. A dish that overall could have been saved but the chef decided to sacrifice it too.. side dish of fried artichokes and they are also in season and instead no, frozen artichoke hearts with a poor batter were hard and tasteless. I left half the cod and artichokes.. dessert chocolate volcano, it could have been better but let's save it.. my husband ate everything very uncomfortably, he doesn't like to leave things on the plate but the octopus with artichokes was missing the lemon in fact they turned black, the spaghetti were hard, the frozen tuna also the artichokes and then we come to his dessert... the tiramisu... if I order a tiramisu I expect a Tiramisu with ladyfingers dipped in coffee and covered in mascarpone cream made with fresh eggs. Instead, a plate arrived with a cup of coffee, 5 pavesini biscuits on the side, and a small bowl of cream and cocoa. Prices halved compared to years ago, so the quality is no longer there. Everything tastes silly, without salt. A big mistake, because a chef must taste, he must know what he's putting on the table. They were honest because they didn't charge for my first course, but I didn't send them back the rest just out of politeness. I will never return. We didn't even like the coffee. The only thing that saved the whole dinner was the wine, a Borgheri Vermentino, because luckily the chef didn't touch it.
