29/08/2025: So, let's start with the positives: a simple atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent food. The biggest issue is the portion sizes compared to the prices. In a location as unpretentious as a tennis club bar (and rightly so), if you set the price for squid alla diavola (delicious) at €25, you can't afford to pay just one squid (squid is certainly not expensive). The same goes for the grilled octopus: the sauces are delicious, and the octopus is good, but a tiny little tentacle costs €18. In my opinion, the price/quantity ratio needs to be rebalanced. Let me be clear, I say this with affection, but it just won't do. It doesn't take much to rebalance everything!

01/07/2025: We had dinner here on the advice of acquaintances and we were absolutely happy. Tables overlooking the fields and delicious dishes but the plus of the place is certainly Massimo with his friendliness and availability that makes the evening even more enjoyable. Recommended place

19/07/2025: Scoperta per caso e devo dire che è stata una splendida sorpresa. Personale professionale e simpatico, piatti ben eseguiti ed abbondanti, veramente molto molto gustosi. Per tutto quello che abbiamo mangiato e bevuto il prezzo è basso. Lo consiglio a pieni voti e sicuramente ci tornerò.

04/03/2026: Yesterday, I took a friend from China to eat their Florentine steak, building on my positive experience in February, when I was truly satisfied with the quality of the meat. Unfortunately, yesterday's experience was completely different. We ordered a Florentine steak at €70 per kilo, for a total of 1.4 kg. Trusting the restaurant, I didn't check the meat carefully when it was presented. Once served, however, I found myself faced with a steak with an excessive and unacceptable amount of fat: about a third of the total weight. This means that of the 1.4 kg paid at full price, about 0.4 kg was practically nothing but fat. At €70 per kilo, this is simply unjustifiable. The dessert offered by the waiter as "compensation" doesn't change the essence of the problem. Once I got home, I compared the photos of the real Florentine steak I'd eaten at the same restaurant in February with the one I'd eaten yesterday. It's clear that the steak served yesterday wasn't a real Florentine steak. Therefore, it should never have been sold at €70 per kilo. Furthermore, I strongly suspect that the meat shown before cooking wasn't the same as the one actually served at the table, because it looked different and didn't have that disproportionate amount of fat. In summary: 1. I believe the meat shown and the meat served were not the same. 2. The steak I ate yesterday wasn't a real Florentine steak, and the price charged was, in my opinion, unfair. A deeply disappointing experience, especially considering the trust I had placed in this restaurant. Additional comments The reason this experience disappointed me so deeply is precisely the trust I had in you. In February, I ate an excellent Florentine steak there, which left me completely satisfied. It was that positive experience that convinced me to return and bring a friend from China with me. Precisely because of this trust, when the steak was shown to me before cooking, I didn't feel the need to carefully analyze it. I relied on the quality I had already experienced. Once served, however, the amount of fat seemed excessive, about a third of the total weight in 1.4 kg at €70 per kilo. At this price, I expect a decent balance of meat and fat. The real disappointment came once I got home. Comparing the photographs of the Fiorentina I ate in February with the one served yesterday, the difference was clear. The cut, the meat-to-fat ratio, and the overall appearance were not the same. And this is precisely what I can't understand: why do two steaks sold as "Bistecca alla Fiorentina" in the same restaurant appear so different in quality and characteristics? In my experience, the one I ate in February represents what I consider a true Fiorentina, while the one served yesterday wasn't up to par. My disappointment isn't born out of controversy, but rather from the disappointment of seeing quality that doesn't match the asking price and the previous experience that had made me return with confidence. I share this reflection with respect, but also with sincerity.

17/10/2025: Delicious food, with very attentive service. The staff is very attentive and helpful. True hospitality: the owner offers a limoncello/grappa at the end of the meal. Very well-kept restaurant with a lovely terrace.

06/09/2025: We had dinner at this restaurant. The atmosphere was simple and welcoming. The selection wasn't extensive, but the dishes were excellent and high-quality. The anchovies in salsa verde as an appetizer were very good and fresh. We had three first courses, all carefully prepared and flavorful; the tagliolini with sea bass were especially fabulous. The fried fish was also excellent, both with and without mixed seafood; it was dry and not at all heavy. My only complaint is that perhaps I would have added a little more mixed seafood. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the Portuguese milk pudding (though we'd seen it at other customers and it looked lovely), so we opted for the homemade tart with custard and strawberries, and I must say it was another pleasant surprise. The owners were friendly and kind. The price was average, but the quality and flavors are worth it. A pleasant surprise! We'll definitely be back.

24/09/2025: ROGI has undoubtedly become one of my favorite places because the food is good at fair prices, with very good quality, the atmosphere is perfect, and the service is excellent from the girls who work there. I really like it!

01/03/2026: We visited this trattoria for the first time today. The seafood dishes are simple but very good, the service is attentive and authentic, and the atmosphere is welcoming. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend it if you're visiting Livorno.

28/01/2026: I love it so much Whenever I'm in Livorno, I always have lunch here! On Wednesday, I had tuna bites with artichokes, which were wonderful, and the tiramisu mousse, which I always remember tasting! Not to mention the punch 😂

22/03/2026: I went with my friends; it's a truly wonderful place. The welcome was excellent, the lady was very kind and helpful, and you could tell from the fish that it was well-preserved and very fresh. I've been there several times with my friends and parents, and I think I'll go back without a problem.

20/03/2026: For me, the quality/price ratio is above average for AYCE restaurants. Plus, the restaurant is very knowledgeable about gluten-free options for celiacs. A very welcoming and attentive atmosphere.

26/12/2025: Update December 2025: We celebrated Christmas here with our family. Service was excellent, and the food was excellent. Three seafood appetizers (see photo) cost €60 (paccheri with cherry tomatoes, scampi, clams, and lupini beans), mixed fried fish with anchovies and fried vegetables, and panettone with cream, water, wine, and coffee. It was sold out. Update 2025: Everything is always great at La Casina! --- We're regulars at this restaurant, and I can say it's an extremely good restaurant, especially for the price. The dishes are good and plentiful, and there's no cover charge. I recommend the tagliolini with lobster, the seafood sauté, and the cacciucco (fish stew). Located in the Viareggio pine forest, 200 meters from the sea, it offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with air conditioning. During high season, it's better to reach it by bike than by car due to the lack of parking in the area (free parking nearby from 1-3 PM and after 8 PM). They often offer a free after-dinner drink at the end of the meal. - August 2023. This year too, we've been to the local restaurant a couple of times, always top-notch. The seafood is good and plentiful, and there's a fixed-price menu available (4 appetizers, 2 first courses, fried food, and water, plus wine). The staff is friendly and helpful, and there's a wide variety of "ammazza caffè" (afternoon tea) for those like me who don't get the usual "amaro del Capo" (a bitter liqueur). Don't be put off by anyone who complains about slow service. The staff is always busy, but when there's a lot of people, you might have to wait, but that means you'll eat well!

26/12/2025: Christmas lunch set menu. Everything was excellent, from appetizer to dessert. The staff were knowledgeable and extremely friendly, the service was prompt, and the place was spotless. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

21/12/2025: We've been to this restaurant three times, but this time we were disappointed. We ordered a bottle of Valpolicella Classico 2017 for €55, which was served to us already in a decanter, with the bottle empty and open, without showing us the label. A decanter should only be brought upon request, not to be sneaky with an already empty bottle. We politely asked for the bottle to be opened in front of us, and the staff corrected the procedure, but this deception has convinced us not to return. A restaurant should always respect proper wine service procedures.

08/03/2026: A fine selection of wines and dishes reflecting the local cuisine. The staff is friendly and courteous. The owner is highly knowledgeable and professional.

01/03/2026: It tastes like "I'll never go back." We were served by a truly kind and thoughtful young man. We'll only save him. The menu offers a wide selection, inviting to peruse. Also, it feels like déjà vu at a well-known restaurant in the province. Avoid the polenta appetizer. Perhaps it was fried the night before. Poor-quality tagliatelle with a mushroom sauce that didn't quite match. As for the pappardelle with duck sauce... the duck had gone out, replaced by juniper, bay leaves, and cloves. So, it was pappardelle with aromatic tomato sauce. In short, it needs fixing. Maybe we got the wrong courses, and if we had tried the main courses... who knows?

23/10/2025: We happened to be passing through Porto Santo Stefano and wanted something quick to eat. Given the cool breeze, this place not only has outdoor seating but also an indoor area. Unfortunately, it's not connected to the kitchen, and the staff has to come from outside, but then again, I think it's worse to cross the street. The swordfish carpaccio and fish crostini were both good. Spaghetti with clams and Spaghetti allo scoglio were very good, with perfectly cooked pasta. Water, 1/4 cup wine, dessert, and a coffee totaled around €60. The price was fair, and the waitress was very friendly. Of course, the indoor dining area is a sidewalk, so it's not exceptionally decorated, but overall, it's a place I'd return to for its excellent value.

20/03/2026: A lovely hotel in San Gimignano, with the owner's courtesy and helpfulness. The only downside was that we had to pay for two coffees in the morning, even though breakfast was included. Sometimes you need a good nose.

03/01/2026: A good location for visiting San Gimignano, about a 10-minute walk to the historic center. You can drive right up to the entrance, and even if there's no parking, you have plenty of time to get settled in. Simple rooms, a good breakfast in a lovely room, friendly and helpful staff, and a lovely picturesque view of San Gimignano and its towers, even more beautiful at night, from just outside the entrance, but perhaps from some rooms as well. I removed one star because the information says "wheelchair accessible," which isn't entirely true.

25/09/2025: A lovely little spot on Giglio port. A typical Gigliese menu with fresh seafood, pasta, and local wines at an affordable price. Excellent service. We would return again!
