09/03/2026: Average food, very good service, attentive and very friendly staff, unfortunately the evening featured a sort of karaoke at an unbearable volume, a shame because it could have been a very pleasant place.

21/11/2025: It's a favorite place, but unfortunately, on the last three occasions, something has gone wrong. Once the ravioli were very salty, once the tagliolini were loose, once the seafood was watery. I assume something has changed in the kitchen. My rating isn't negative, but I hope you'll soon return to your "recent" glories. In my opinion, it's the most beautiful and characteristic restaurant in Viareggio.

29/10/2025: We had dinner at Da Maria in Giglio Castello — the food was good, fairly average overall, but the price felt a bit too high. For a group meal with one starter, one main course, and one dessert, it came to around €50 per person.

21/09/2025: I won't say how much I spent in total, because I've eaten that amount elsewhere and left satisfied with what I ate. Paying €40 for two risottos where you had to search for the rice grains hidden between a mussel, two shrimp, and four clams seems excessive to me. When you then realize the portion at the next table is larger, you feel cheated. Likewise, €30 for a fried dish that also included cheap vegetables and sardines, considered a low-cost fish, seems excessive. And finally, when I came to pay, I was told they even gave me a discount because they made me wait. I was even too kind to give it two stars.

01/01/2026: I don't usually leave negative reviews because I believe in people's good faith and that a bad night can happen. This time, however, I can't overlook it, because we felt cheated from start to finish. We booked New Year's Eve dinner for 15 people. The owner confirmed availability and told us we'd have a room all to ourselves. The proposed menu was €75 per person, excluding drinks, and included: a welcome drink, a choice of appetizer, a choice of first course, a choice of second course, and a choice of dessert. On the morning of December 31st, we were contacted and told that we all had to choose the same first course and second course, with no individual choice. At that point, we felt practically trapped: we didn't want a fixed menu, but since it was the 31st, we had no alternatives because all the restaurants were already full. After much difficulty, we managed to reach an agreement among 15 people. We asked for at least two options per course, but were denied. The only "concession" was with the appetizer: instead of letting us choose between two dishes, they simply combined them into one dish, effectively eliminating the choice there as well. In the evening, we arrived at the restaurant and discovered that the famous "room all to ourselves" was initially set up with three separate tables (3, 8, and 4 people). Only after we insisted were the tables arranged in two, but we still remained with our backs to each other, which definitely didn't make sense for a New Year's Eve dinner. When we asked to rearrange the tables, we were treated unkindly, as if the problem were ours. Added to this was the confusing communication: the waitress first told us she'd spoken to the guy who had handled the reservation, only to contradict herself shortly thereafter by saying she hadn't spoken to anyone. About the food: Welcome of the house: a small slice of bread with cucumber and fish, eaten in a single bite. Appetizer: Overall, acceptable. First course: tagliolini with clams, overcooked and so salty it was inedible. Many couldn't finish it. Second course: calamari gnocchi with the wrong consistency, inedible. After two bites, practically everyone left it. Dessert: We didn't choose dessert, despite what we'd previously communicated. The only thing that was just about adequate. A few liqueurs were offered, perhaps to make up for it, but they weren't enough to save one of the worst experiences we've ever had. Final bill: €90 per person (€75 for the menu + drinks), for a dinner where practically no one ate. Beyond the quality of the food, what was most disappointing was the lack of transparency, organization, and respect for the customer. I'm writing this review only to prevent others from having the same experience.

15/12/2025: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had dinner at Ristorante Da Oscar to celebrate a truly special occasion: our tenth wedding anniversary, and we couldn't have made a better choice. Da Oscar is undoubtedly one of the most well-known and appreciated seafood restaurants in Livorno, and the experience lived up to its reputation. The restaurant immediately conveys a sense of high quality, both in terms of the ambiance and the impeccable service: attentive, professional, and always friendly, without ever being intrusive. You feel pampered from start to finish. The cuisine is excellent. We started with a trio of seafood appetizers, all of which were of the highest quality, with attention to detail and the freshest ingredients. Before that, we enjoyed a complimentary seafood cream soup, a much-appreciated gesture that demonstrates customer service and a love of hospitality. For my first course, I enjoyed an extraordinary dish: pasta with sea urchin sauce, intense, balanced, and with an authentic seafood flavor, truly memorable. To round out the dinner, desserts: a millefeuille and a cheesecake, both excellent, light, and perfectly balanced. A great added bonus was the option to order everything gluten-free, without sacrificing taste or quality: a fundamental consideration that makes the restaurant even more recommendable. In conclusion, Da Oscar is an absolute guarantee: excellent seafood cuisine, high-level service, attentive customer service, and meticulous attention to detail. A perfect restaurant for both a romantic dinner and special occasions. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended! 👏🍽️🐟

26/02/2026: A beautiful, elegant, and well-maintained venue, reminiscent of the true high-end hotel restaurants of the finest cities. The atmosphere is refined yet welcoming. The selection of meats and wines is excellent, with carefully selected, high-quality options. The focaccia is truly exquisite, paired perfectly with the local prosciutto. A pleasant experience worth repeating.
