There was a misunderstanding about the order of a dish and we really appreciated that it was quickly replaced.
We ate well.
The price is slightly high for the type of experience but not excessively so.

25/06/2025: Today we were at this restaurant for the first time and we opted for the "Menu of the Day" formula: at a cost of €17.50 per person, the menu includes a first course, a second course with side dish, service charge, water and 1/4 of wine. I had the meat dishes: Tortiglioni Sausage and broccoli and Saltimbocca alla romana with mashed potatoes; NonZio had the fish dishes: Farfalle with seafood ragù and Roasted octopus with spinach. We were both happy with the dishes they served us: they were well cooked and tasty. The bread basket was good and also included a small olive roll and a whole wheat one with sesame seeds. The warm focaccia with oil and oregano, offered as an entrée, was very welcome. Since the Menu of the Day formula also included wine, I chose a sparkling white, which was very pleasant (NonZio instead only had water because he had to drive...). To close the lunch, an inevitable macchiato coffee for both of us, which is not included in the menu, but is charged only 1 euro (while everywhere else now it costs 1.50 if not 2 euros). The only flaw we found, the very very slow service (or perhaps disorganized): as soon as we sat down as a couple they came to ask for the order but without having brought us the menu, once we had the menu we waited more than a quarter of an hour to order. After the first course (which arrived very slowly) we waited almost half an hour before the second course arrived, so much so that we were no longer even very hungry... Fortunately we were not in a hurry, but we entered at 12.45 and left at past 2... I hope it's a coincidence, because it's a nice place and the staff is numerous, but perhaps today it was a little disorganized. We will return to try other menus and also the pizza and hope to be able to correct the evaluation of the service. A question: can anyone tell me what the mega robot outside means?

The atmosphere is warm, authentic, with a perfect balance between tradition and attention to detail. Each dish is an explosion of true, genuine, memorable flavors. The cuisine is simply extraordinary, with very fresh ingredients and a passion that can be felt in every bite.
But what makes the experience complete is the impeccable service. A special mention goes without a doubt to the waitress who served us and accommodated all our countless requests (unfortunately I don't know her name): kind, smiling, attentive and helpful.
I recommend “Il Casottino” with all my heart, we will definitely be back again and again.

13/05/2025: Un bel pranzo festivo con la famiglia. Abbiamo pranzato all'aperto, in contesto tranquillo pur se non particolarmente suggestivo, ma confortevole ed accogliente. Essendo una locanda storica propone giustamente piatti della tradizione locale, ma il menù è sufficientemente ampio da poter essere apprezzato da tutti. Noi siamo rimasti sulla tradizione ed abbiamo apprezzato la qualità dei prodotti, la preparazione dei piatti e la presentazione, che cerca di coniugare la storia con l'attualità. Il risultato è molto buono. Altrettanto valida anche la carta dei vini, con attenzione al territorio ma non solo. Il servizio è efficiente, cortese e disponibile. I prezzi sono medio alti, ma temo che siano influenzati dalla zona, particolarmente turistica. Consigliato.

06/06/2025: I have been here for dinner twice, once I had a very good pizza, not bad either, the beer that accompanied me, then tonight I went back and I focused on fish, the result is nothing short of exceptional, a first course that I struggled to find, pasta for the enormous quantity of fish and then an excellent fried fish, excellent to finish, the Catalan cream and the limoncello, the bill in line with what we had... What can I say, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED also for the environment that is elegant and quiet with background music, everything perfect for a romantic dinner...

13/06/2025: My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic Italian meal at La Colombetta. The food was amazing and the service was great - the sisters who run this restaurant go above and beyond to give their customers an authentic Italian experience. We will be back next time we are in Como.
10/06/2025: I dine out frequently and I have to say this was one of the finest culinary experiences I can remember. La Colombetta was an absolute smash hit from the minute we arrived, it’s located in what was once a 13th century church, but completely renovated with a modern chic vibe, all that remains of the church is some of the original ceiling graphics which remain visible.
This is family owned and operated, run by three sisters and their brother, also on hand were identical twin daughters, who provided service with 5 star excellence. We were warmly greeted by one of the sisters and provided with a complimentary glass of prosecco and some very tasty thin pita chips with a drizzle of evoo. Followed by their house red wine that was fantastic.
We literally wanted to order everything on the menu, but we went with some favorites. Started with the Buratta served with sweet cherry tomatoes, evoo and a balsamic glaze drizzle, very artistically presented, it was excellent, cheese was rich and creamy.
For our next course we went with pasta (of course) Tagliolini with Lobster for two, and the Spinach Ravioli with Tomato Sauce and Basil, both were excellent. Then on to the Grilled Lamb chops, again excellent. As much as we wanted to order more, we were stuffed and wanted to leave room for the homemade desserts.
We ordered the Crème Brûlée and Lemon & Mandarin Sorbet. I inquired what was taking a few minutes, I was told it’s not ready, we’re making it fresh. This was by far the absolute best Crème Brûlée I had ever had, right out of the oven, even the plate was still hot. Same for the Lemon Sorbet, best I’ve ever had.
Everything here is freshly homemade to order. Best restaurant in Como, possibly all of Italy, if you’re there, this is a must! Dining here is like dining with your family, they make you feel right at home. You never know who you might see here, every celebrity that visited Como has dined here, I’m told it’s Clooneys favorite restaurant, De Niro, Sandler, Jagger and many others dine here. When I shared my enthusiasm over the meal, I was invited into the kitchen to meet the rest of the family, this may be the cleanest kitchen I’ve ever seen. Reservations strongly recommended.
Please note, as this is an intimate spot, I limited my interior pics as not to disturb or invade the other guests. It really is very beautiful.

23/06/2025: We recently visited this restaurant and were unfortunately very disappointed. We had barely finished our plates, with the last bite still on our forks, when the food was cleared away without a word. They didn't even ask if we wanted to eat the bread – it was simply taken away.
Just a few seconds later, the waiter arrived with the bill without us having asked, and we were immediately asked to leave the table – even though we had only finished eating a few minutes ago.
Overall, we felt completely thrown out. The already very high prices are completely unjustified for such rude and rushed service. We definitely won't be coming back.
Despite that, the food was delicious.
