13/08/2025: We were greeted by the classic 80s trattoria smell, which raised high expectations. The place is undoubtedly "vintage," characterless and unremarkable. Perhaps some things are even starting to look old. The menu is bland and impersonal, as is the service, which could use a complete overhaul. The problem is that all this isn't even the worst part... because sooner or later the meal arrives. A tragedy. Nothing works. From the greasy paper menu to the written and photographed one, goosebumps. We ordered from the starters, main courses, and unfortunately even the "pizza," or at least that's what we call it... an insult to the restaurant industry. To be honest, I have to say that the breadsticks were good quality, and so was the bread (they probably make it themselves), and even the fries were delicious and crispy. I think the prices are also a problem; with such a high price, you expect quality, or at least decency. Everything is overpriced. Courteous and polite staff. The cloth napkins were much appreciated; there are too few of them... Hugs.

03/10/2025: Positive: The mini golf course is also okay, and for €5 per adult and €4 for children, it's okay. But that's about all the great things Lido Menaggio has to offer. Contrary: I can say without exaggeration that the bathing area is an absolute disgrace compared to the entrance prices, bordering on a rip-off. A family of four pays €20 to enter. However, after that, you're only allowed to lie on the lawn. A sun lounger costs an additional €4, and a parasol another €4. You quickly notice that the entire complex is unkempt, and in some places even looks neglected. The toilets aren't cleaned (literally covered in trash), there's no toilet paper, the sand soccer field is a disgrace, with broken glass on the floor and staff walking carelessly past it, and cigarette butts on the lawn. After a power outage lasting almost two hours, the thawed ice cream is resold. Truly disgusting!!! We declined politely. The other food options are no better. A regular burger costs €6, a sausage in a bun with mustard is sold as a hot dog and costs €5, and a regular-sized portion of fries also costs €5. The prices are outrageous considering what's on offer. The Menaggio Lido seems to want to be a hip place. But it can't. It seems forced and incompetent. The list of flaws could go on endlessly. In Germany, a lido like this would have to close after one season. I can think of one good thing, though... The water playground in the lake is great; all the kids who can swim and the adults have fun here, and that was ultimately the only reason we went there three times. Otherwise, you can safely avoid this place. But form your own opinion. Have fun!

As I expected, the owner is always very welcoming and has a wide smile. One Thursday evening in late August this year, I decided to dine out and head to Timebrek, ordering the peppered mussels, as I've always ordered. I arrived with my small dog (Jack Russell) and, as usual, I asked the owner's (young) son for a table in the corner, a bit isolated, as always, so as not to disturb any customers who didn't like the dog. Greeted and kindly served by the son and mom, I enjoyed my mussels and finished, I headed to the cashier to pay. I paid for my dinner, satisfied, and headed home. Putting the paper in my wallet, I pull out the receipt and read the one consumed with the last item before the total 3 euro surcharge for the dog. I was also disappointed because they never mentioned anything about the dog. The next day I decided to stop by to ask for an explanation of what happened, I called the honest lady outside the restaurant and asked why she added that 3 euro surcharge to my bill without ever notifying me. You can tell she replied, "I DON'T LIKE DOGS HERE." Honestly, I was disappointed not so much by the surcharge I would have paid to bring my dog, but by the lack of honesty in informing me! I've always trusted and never looked at the receipts when paying, I've always been happy with the dishes and what I paid!!! At this point, I wonder how many times they've done it? 05/10/2025: This 28-year-old restaurant is a family-run business. All of Xiao Jiang's Italian dishes are incredibly authentic. The seafood and other dishes are all very fresh. I recommend starting with some prosciutto and fritters. Then, you can try their seafood or lobster noodles.

06/10/2025: Lunch for four was excellent, but they should be a little clearer on the menu. The seafood appetizer we chose read: "Seafood appetizer €23 for a minimum of two people." We asked the waitress for two appetizers, which four of us would share. We expected €46 on the bill, not €92. It's true that if you reread the menu more carefully, it says €23 per person, but it's only for two people. However, when we ordered two appetizers and told the waitress we'd share it between four, she probably realized we'd misinterpreted the menu, but she ignored it. What a shame.
