05/08/2024: We had dinner in this restaurant and what a mistake! To begin with, after 10 minutes of waiting (the restaurant was absolutely not full) we asked for the menu which was painfully given to us. 15 minutes later we asked for our order to be taken. Here again, it was done laboriously. We were hesitant to leave but our 2 year old was hungry and we thought we were doing the right thing by staying. The bread was never brought to us (yet we were charged for it in the end!) I had the audacity to ask the waitress for a drink for my child, she seemed surprised that he could drink! (And there also his cover which he did not have, was counted!) In total, more than an hour waiting for tasteless dishes, very salty for some and without taste. In the few years that we have been coming to Italy, this is probably the worst carbonara we have eaten. The atmosphere of the restaurant is as gloomy as can be. The music stopped, it took them more than 30 minutes to realize. The customers at the other tables exchanged glances, embarrassed by the heaviness of the place and the slowness of the dishes. The staff is absolutely not friendly, which is a shame. We paid 73€ for honestly dishes that were not worth more than 40/45€. In short, very bad experience which leaves a bitter taste. I put one star because zero is not possible.

26/07/2024: We sat for 1 minute and were supposed to order drinks, a waitress kept coming and asking if we should order now. You felt extremely stressed (there was no one in the restaurant except for one other couple, so there was no reason for the rush). The food came quickly and was OK, but nothing special. The bottle of white wine was brought without refrigeration, which we received upon request. During the meal, a waitress constantly came to check whether we were ready, which was also very stressful. Price performance was okay, but not a place for a relaxed dinner.

15/01/2024: Su consiglio di diversi siti Internet e convinti dalle recensioni positive, ci siamo recati a pranzo in questo locale super conosciuto ed apprezzato. Devo dire che alcune recensioni (poche per la verità), lasciavano qualche dubbio ma l'esperienza ci ha ampiamente convinti del contrario. Bella location, servizio super cordiale (alla tanto decantata faccia del muso ligure), simpatico e cordiale, con piatti cucinati fantasticamente, squisiti e con prodotti di qualità. Prezzi adeguati e perfettamente in linea con quanto offerto. In molti mangiano anche la pizza (sicuramente buona), ma noi abbiamo preferito assaggiare qualcuna delle loro specialità e non ce ne siamo pentiti. Per inciso, anche il loro vino sfuso, bianco mosso, era squisito. Complimenti per ... tutto. Ci rivedremo presto ! PS) Peccato che fuori stagione facciano solo il pranzo della domenica e in estate solo la cena. Obbligatoria la prenotazione, altrimenti... CICCIA !

03/01/2024: L’impasto era buonissimo e gli ingredienti di prima scelta. Gusti tradizionali o rivisitati per tutti i gusti. In più è sempre disponibile il pescato fresco fatto alla griglia o alla ligure. Ci sono tornata più volte!

29/08/2024: I return to Monterosso after a few years and with pleasure I returned to Al Casello where the food is always good. A pleasure to meet the always very kind staff! Lunch facing the sea under an umbrella! Top See you next time ❤️

26/08/2024: We stoped for a few drinks. First they tell us in very rood way that they have no still water and, honestly, it feels like they don’t want to have a customers for drinks, but for lunch. No attention to the guests. Incredible final: it took them 2 waiters and 10 min to calculate my bill 😂😂😂 Like 4+7 €. “Math? Never heard.” Do not speak English 😐

11/08/2024: New management for about a year. Definitely improved by the previous management. Fixed menu for lunch. Excellent dinner, normal portions. Accompanying bread and focaccia, delicious. The staff is friendly and gives great advice. Compliments also to the kitchen staff. The prices are also fair. Absolutely worth trying

25/08/2024: We went here for dinner because the actual restaurant we wanted to go to was unfortunately already full. But it was by no means an emergency solution. The food was extremely good, fast and very friendly service. We were completely satisfied!

12/07/2024: We had a Pizza (15€) and a piece of Lasagne (13€). The lasagne seemed like it was microwaved and the pizza was okay but not made from scratch. We expected better food for the money we paid :/

09/07/2024: They don't have gluten free pizza. we arrived with a large group, we found ourselves with all separate tables, and they wanted to put a girl with a family that had nothing to do with us. we waited for the pizza for more than an hour. they even made the celiac girl pay more. slow, rude, do not recommend.

09/07/2024: Location bellissima, ottima cucina e prezzo super onesto. Unica pecca il parcheggio! In particolare un masso di roccia che in fase di manovra ha voluto entrare nella mia portiera. Consiglio di spostarlo perchè conosco altre persone che hanno avuto la stessa esperienza. Grazie

22/06/2024: Sentito parlare da tante persone che avevano provato questa osteria che chiamerei più ristorante. Location molto bella (non abbiamo visto l’interno). Posti ben distribuiti. Menù non troppo vasto con proposte mare e terra. Abbiamo optato x testatori con ragù di mare proposti interi e non tagliati: secondo baccalà con crema di ceci e assaggio di prescinsua; tiramisù; vino vermentino locale. Prezzo in linea con il posto. Non ci ha fatto dire ‘Woooow’ ma onestamente tutto buono. Nota negativa non ci è stata fatta vedere la carta dei vini ma descritto quello che avevano solo a voce: non buono..!!!

12/08/2024: I would give 0 star if I could. Please take your time to read the negative comments, all are true, and dont forget to check the way the restaurant responds. It is a tourist trap with the lowest quality food, a shame for other italian restauranters. Dont waste your money and time on this if you came to the lovely Italy to have nice food and experience hospitality.

11/08/2024: Tipical tourist trap… the worst food I had in all of Italy in 3 weeks, and I have eaten in beach buffets. We had spaghetti bolognese and a pizza, both of them were totally tasteless and really small portions too. I have eaten better supermarket takeaways. Really. Not recommended at all. The staff is also rude and when I stated the the food was really bad, they went nuts. After we left, a group of local teenager followed us and called me and my wife names.

13/08/2024: There is little to say....located on Bergeggi beach, excellent food and very fresh fish. Definitely good quality/price ratio (for being from Liguria) Definitely worth a try, I'll be back.

13/08/2024: Everything is fine, only the price of 6 euros for the bulk wine...13 euros for a bulk white wine on the beach...is definitely too much

08/08/2024: Ate a decent pizza with plenty of content. Others from the company went to the restaurant and left satisfied. The outdoor area we were in was fortunately refrigerated.

15/08/2024: The environment is only cooled by a few fans on the ceiling which do not prevail over the suffocating heat coming out of the kitchen, which makes it difficult to enjoy the food which, all things considered, would have been good. The courtesy of the staff is questionable as we heard unpleasant comments coming from the kitchen .

11/08/2024: Pizza was ok. Why still a star? Service very poor, unfriendly and unreasonably long waiting times. The winter garden has no air conditioning and you had the feeling of sitting in a group sauna rather than in a restaurant. They also collect a service fee of €1.50 per person and then they don't have the right change when paying and therefore keep even more money. I can't recommend it to anyone

13/08/2024: Very rude employees. You don't have to smile, but we constantly had the feeling that we were annoying. Unfortunately the pizza couldn't make up for it. Huge edge without any coating. The pizzas looked better at the neighboring tables. Well, in this village you'd better reserve tables in advance, somewhere else, otherwise you'll end up in this shop. Apparently they can afford to provide this poor service. Shame!

04/08/2024: Terrible experience, and not because of the price which in the end was the only normal thing. We arrive, you can't book for half an hour later, but all the tables outside are booked. Oh well, it's summer, understandable. We sit down, they come to order, you can't order first for the children because the orders go together, even if you're on holiday and maybe you want to enjoy a quiet evening. Okay... let's order 3 pizzas, a mussels marinara and a second course, instead of pizza, of calamari. The calamari and mussels arrived after 5 minutes, there wasn't even any drink on the table, the pizzas after half an hour. The drink arrives and a medium beer was missing a quarter, we call a waiter, he turns around, the other one asks you if we need anything, we answer him, and he goes away! In the end the pizza is also unseasoned, raw, floured, we ate it because we had no alternative, with two small children. We had been there the year before and everything was good. I go to the cashier to report the problems, the girl, who doesn't even know how to address it, replies that she works there and doesn't care much, to tell the owner. So I look for the owner, I report the problems to him, but for him everything is normal. Even that 3 people eat half an hour apart because in the same restaurant they allowed themselves to order two different types of cuisine. All thrown on the table without love, especially by the gentleman with the moustache. Your opinion and good luck.
