30/09/2025: It was quite good, but it didn't blow me away. The pizzas were quite tasty. The music was a bit too loud. And the knife took a little getting used to.

06/10/2025: A beautiful and delicious lunch on the harbor with a perfectly grilled fish, a whole sea bass with a perfect potato side. Everything was very good, even if tourists can sometimes be difficult for the service and the waiter!!!

04/10/2025: Excellent dinner with friends; there were six of us, and we sat inside in the dining room with the living rock walls. The waiter promptly brought us water and menus. For appetizers, we had a mix of anchovies, a caprese salad, then paccheri with red mullet ragù, some had octopus and potatoes, and others had stuffed mussels. White and red wine were served. The location was warm and elegant, but the waiter, who wore shorts, was a no-no! The prices were in line with restaurants in the Cinque Terre... and it's right on the harbor!

02/04/2025: Una giornata veloce al mare con mia moglie. Non è la prima volta che ci andiamo e , come sempre, abbiamo mangiato benissimo. Se andiamo a Finale il pesce lo mangiamo qui!

08/10/2025: A friend from Genoa recommended it to me, but I think he hasn't been here in a while, or at least I hope not. Maybe it was good once, but they're apparently still living off their past reputation because they only served fresh fish caught daily. What I saw today was a cuisine without a shred of love and passion, poor quality, and everything was pretty shabby. Come on, give it a good shake or close it down, it's better.

05/10/2025: Despite making a reservation two days in advance, I was given a table in the draft. When I asked if I could change seats, or if a door could be partially closed, I was told that if I didn't like it, I could leave. Despite everything, I stayed, and had to get up several times to close a door. I think the restaurant service is way beyond their capabilities.

21/10/2025: We had dinner; I found the staff courteous and helpful. The food was good and the portions generous. The sea view room was pleasant.

17/10/2025: It attracts tourists. I ordered a mixed grilled fish, and only one piece of fish arrived, so small you couldn't tell what it was, it was so dry. The rest was just crayfish to fill the plate. We tried to talk to the staff, but they turned their backs on us. Don't waste your time here; you'll get bored.

26/05/2025: Dopo che ho visto moltissime recensioni positive e qualche negativa, ero in dubbio se andare con la moglie ed altra coppia a cena al Mortaio. Poi ho chiesto a qualche Voltrese doc e tutti mi hanno confermato che il Mortaio é una vera trattoria di altissima qualità a Genova ....e non a caso é aperta da 25 anni, una vera istituzione da queste parti. Io ho preso la pasta con sugo di lepre ( fotonico! ) poi calamari fritti ( carnosissimi e fritti in modo impeccabile! ) Avrei voluto prendere pasta con le vongole, ma non ne avevano più.....e la cosa mi é subito piaciuta molto, perché questo é garanzia di un locale con prodotti freschi. Le quantità erano decisamente abbondanti. Il locale pulitissimo e molto ben frequentato, nessuno alzava la voce. Il servizio è stato rapido e coordinatissimo. Il dolce al cucchiaio era squisito, come lo faceva mia mamma! Con 35€ senza vino abbiamo mangiato tanto e soprattutto molto molto molto bene. Inutile dire che ritorneremo! .....ma la prossima volta prenoteremo con più anticipo, mi sa tanto che a questo giro siamo stati molto fortunati a trovare un tavolo libero!

05/05/2025: Esperienza non buona. Locale piccolissimo, praticamente ero seduto in braccio ad una signora. Per andare in bagno ho dovuto fare slalom tra i tavoli. A parte questo i primi indiscutibilmente buoni, come la frittura (buona e abbondante). Problema grave e imperdonabile sul pagro con verdure. Pesce completamente pieno di spine e squame, letteralmente immangiabile. Fatto notare al cameriere mi viene detto si, le spine è normale e che le squame non c'erano perché era stato squamato in precedenza, cosa assolutamente non vera. Era impossibile fare un boccone senza prendere spine e squame. Il pesce è rimasto nel piatto così come è stata portato. La cosa più grave è che il titolare non si è per niente scusato del disservizio e non è venuto incontro al momento del pagamento.

03/06/2025: 6 commensali per cena lasciati sotto la pioggia. Nonostante ci vedessero e continuassero a dire “che strano, non dava pioggia”, abbiamo dovuto insistere e chiedere se potessero spostarci o coprirci con l’ombrellone dopo aver assistito ad una sfuriata delle cameriere in mezzo a tutti. Tempi di attesa lunghissimi. Tra l’antipasto e i primi abbiamo aspettato un’ora. Non abbiamo mangiato una portata insieme e ci è arrivato un piatto ogni 10 minuti. Abbiamo ordinato la pasta fresca al pesto e ci è arrivato un piatto di fusilli tipo Barilla al pesto. Vino versato sgocciolando per tutto il tavolo. Caffe servito senza cucchiaini. Le aspettative erano alte dato il menu. Peccato. Non credo ci torneremo. Servizio deludente

05/05/2025: Purtroppo abbiamo beccato una serata un po' storta, perchè la nostra cena è stata un po' confusa e con tempistiche un po' lunghe. E' vero che il ristorante era pieno, ma si è respirata un po' di tensione tra lo staff, che è culminata con la comparsa dello chef in sala per discutere in maniera non proprio garbata con le ragazze della sala (discussione che si è protratta anche in cucina). Anche al momento del conto, abbiamo dovuto attendere l'arrivo di qualcuno perchè lo staff era in cucina, e questi disservizi hanno un po' cambiato il sapore di una cena che altrimenti sarebbe stata di livello discreto. Piatti abbondanti, ottimo il fritto e sapori all'altezza del luogo, ma non so se ci ritorneremo

03/10/2025: Be careful. This is a typical rip-off. We asked for a scoop of ice cream and they served us three. So this scoop cost us €9. Plus, the waiter was rude.

24/09/2025: The restaurant offers a splendid view, and the boccola was cooked to perfection. A simple but very pleasant experience that I gladly recommend.

05/10/2025: We arrived and the waiter already confronted us for asking to change tables, even though there were 5 tables with customers... We ordered drinks 3 times from 2 different waiters, only for them to arrive incorrectly. We asked for still water, and he brought it cold, and he still looks at us funny as if it were our fault... A total of more than 15 minutes to bring 1 still water and 1 soda, even though the place was practically empty. The kitchen, on the other hand, is a 10, with good dishes. We ordered the meat with sauce, which was cold, although I suspect it's the waiter's fault, since he told me it was 2 minutes, and brought it after talking for about 10 minutes or more with another customer who had asked for the bill 20 minutes ago and was apologizing. In short, the meat arrived cold. It was supposed to be the second course, which came with the lettuce, tomato, and red cabbage salad. 40 minutes to cut that, and you bring it with the second course cold. It's unforgivable, especially for giving us some cauliflower... To top it all off, if you want to pay by card, you have to go to the first floor in person. Why do they charge me for the cover? I've worked harder than them... The bread they serve is secondhand, a mix of dry toast and 1 or 2 all-you-can-eat bread... The place is nice, with good views and very good food, but the service is nonexistent. If I were them, I'd fire the waiters and hire new ones, or make the service takeout only, if the food was really worth it.

07/09/2025: WARNING: HISTAMINE POISONING‼️‼️ My mother and a friend ate a tuna salad, and both immediately felt ill. My mother was admitted to the hospital in Savona with severe symptoms, and they immediately realized it was poisoning from poorly preserved fish. She later learned that this wasn't the first case. We want to make this known so we can prevent this from happening again.

19/06/2025: Ci era stato consigliato… e purtroppo ci siam fidati! Innanzitutto, ambiente sporco! Pavimenti indecenti e menu unti. Solitamente fotografo tutti i piatti… erano talmente poco invitanti che non ne ho fatta nemmeno una. Frittura mista.. quindi col pesce azzurro “fresco” .. fortunatamente ci siamo accorti che un pesce puzzava di marcio! Il ristorante ci ha detto che può capitare. Arriva il secondo.. calamari alla piastra su un letto di insalata e pomodorini conditi con la cipolla cruda (che non c’entra nulla col pesce!) contorno ovviamente scelto da loro.. i calamari erano amari.. quindi non puliti bene! Ma come si fa???? Dolce.. assaggiano 2 tiramisù.. il pezzo forte della casa! Erano secchi, fatti con la panna, veramente immangiabili. Arriva il momento del conto, nessuna attenzione nonostante il “può capitare”. Queste recensioni così positive sono ingannevoli! Probabilmente trattano bene solo chi dicono loro. Di certo non ci torneremo più.

Appena si entra, si viene accolti da Fiore e Luciano – proprietari attenti e calorosi – che da subito ti mettono a tuo agio con il loro sorriso e disponibilità. Specializzato in pesce fresco, ogni piatto rispecchia tradizione e qualità. Servizio impeccabile: lo staff è gentile e attento ai dettagli, sempre pronto a suggerire piatti e spiegare le peculiarità.
