27/02/2025: Siamo stati a pranzo perche' qualche anno fa ed eravamo stati molto bene ... Purtroppo questa volta e' stata una delusione... I piatti non sono stati all'altezza dellle aspettative e qualche dubbio sulla freschezza delle materie prime. L'unica nota positiva e' la gentilezza del personale in sala. Rapporto qualita' prezzo decisamente negativo

Because we were happy there 10 times in June. This time we were not completely satisfied because we realized that length of stay is more important than satisfied guests. Too bad! 05/10/2024: Waren zweimal zu 6 zweimal zu 4 einmal 2 .Waren eigentlich zufrieden bis zum letzten Abend. Zwei haben Schnitzel bestellt. Einmal mit Pommen 12 Euro war ok einmal mir Spaghetti 18 Euro!!!!! Wieso 6 Euro für Spaghetti? Keine Pommes!!!! War nicht gerechtfertigt. Schade werden im nächsten Jahr nicht mehr essen gehen!

29/12/2024: Pretty bad experience. It is not possible to have a place with only one waitress on a public holiday with a lot of people. The service is disorganized, even just for the drink we waited an hour. We will not be returning again and unfortunately I cannot recommend it.

16/02/2025: The hotel's location is perfect, you can reach the center of Porto Venere with a 10-minute walk. Room facing the sea with a large panoramic window and a balcony with chairs and a table. Unfortunately, however, the curtains on the windows were thin and at dawn we woke up with the sun inside the room, impossible to continue resting. They put earplugs among the gadgets in the room but not the mask... a questionable choice given that the curtains are almost useless. Then in the room there was an unpleasant smell that came up from the toilet and drains. Let's get to breakfast: abundant but not adequate for a 4-star hotel, but really annoying, we started at 9.30, the time when breakfast was served was by 10, at 10.05 they started to take away the buffet while we were still eating... I'll start by saying that, being February, we were 2 couples in the whole room, so not exactly a crowd. After having removed everything, probably having noticed our disappointment, the waiter came to the table to tell us that, since breakfast time had ended a good 5 minutes before and they had to clear the table, after having actually already taken away the entire buffet, he asked us "do you still want something before I take it away?"... It seemed like a joke. Too bad because the night before they had been kind enough to serve us a glass of wine at the bar even though we had arrived shortly after the official closing time.

26/12/2024: Best hotel of Porto Venere. Convenient for parking, for location to access to the ferries, restaurants etc nice breakfast and polite staff

13/04/2025: Hyvä ja ystävällinen palvelu. Erinomainen ruoka. Söimme päivölliseksi 3 lajin menun. Saimme jälkiruokien jälkeen yllätykseksi extrana shotti valikoiman. Ne olivat hyviä.

06/10/2024: Pasé a almorzar y tomar un café en una tarde perezosa. Metí una mesa dentro de la puerta. Tomé la lingüina de atún y mi esposa la ensalada caprese. La comida era buena, el servicio era atento.

30/03/2025: The location is certainly the strong point of Santa Caterina Beach: the restaurant directly overlooks the sea, offering a pleasant and relaxing view. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience doesn't live up to the scenery. The service is normal, without particular attention or problems. However, the cuisine leaves something to be desired. We ordered three mixed fried fish, which arrived toasted, probably also due to poor quality products. Furthermore, the flavor of the fish was rather anonymous. The pasta turned out to be slightly better, but still with ingredients of not the highest quality. Breakfast is also not particularly recommended. Overall, the quality-price ratio is disappointing: the prices do not justify the quality of the food, and the only real added value is the seafront location. If you're looking for a place to enjoy the view, it might be worth a visit, but for a top-notch dining experience, look elsewhere.

30/03/2025: Second time we go to this restaurant on the Santa Caterina beach in Varazze. The first time we had an aperitif, I tried to ask for a drink: coke, tonic water, estathe, juice, they had nothing and the waitress didn't know how to suggest available alternatives. I asked for something to nibble on and nothing was brought, after a long wait they brought two chips. Today we went for Sunday lunch, I had been given confirmation of the table on the phone. Upon our arrival, without even welcoming us, the lady turns to me telling me that she would have made us sit by now but that in reality they had forgotten to call me back to tell me that they would have no place, an annoyed and rude manner. We reach the table, the same lady speaking to her fellow waitress and surrounded by other tables reports: "my back and my underwear are sweaty". All this with us in the back waiting to be seated. Are we kidding? Will this ever be the way to approach work and even more so dealing with catering?! We order two fried fish: acceptable, then the 4 fish first courses arrive, and with these the nightmare. They served these dishes which promised to be "calamarata sautéed in seafood stew", the color of the pasta and sauce was dark brown, not to mention the seafood: unrecognizable pieces, slimy and purple/pinkish as if they were raw. The dish didn't even taste like fish, I repeat unidentifiable food. We spent 140 euros between 4 of us, subsequently all suffering from stomach pain and vomiting. Stay away! It is unacceptable that a restaurant on the beach offers fish of such a terrible standard. Receipt attached, shows a different time from that of lunch because at the time they hadn't even given us the receipt, pocketed the cash and that was it. We then returned later demanding the receipt.

03/11/2024: Abbiamo pranzato qui in una bella giornata soleggiata. Purtroppo i tavoli all’esterno erano tutti occupati, ma siamo stati comunque bene. Il cibo è stato molto buono, il servizio gentile, il conto adeguato alla posizione del locale.

03/10/2024: Spectacular day at the beach. Can't ask for anything better. The staff is overly accommodating. Short wait ended with a beautiful table overlooking the beach . The food was delicious. No complaints from me . Sorry, I had to leave ... Great experience. Put it on your list of places to visit

06/04/2025: We were at dinner. The food was tasty and okay portions. My friend got a piece of meat, but it was practically raw. It's a pity that the waitress spoke poor English because she couldn't even ask about the doneness. However, this does not change the fact that everything else was very tasty.

05/04/2025: Discovered by chance, just great. Spaghetti vongole, as must, original, fresh, delicious.. Great wines, friendly service. Tutto bene!

01/01/2025: Capitati per caso, abbiamo mangiato benissimo! Personale gentilissimo, sono veloci e i piatti sono ottimi, dalle pizze al pesce (non abbiamo fatto in tempo ad assaggiare la carne perché ci siamo fermati solo due giorni). Lo consigliamo sicuramente.

17/02/2025: Abbiamo avuto il piacere di cenare in questo ristorante e siamo rimasti colpiti dalla qualità del pesce, freschissimo e preparato con grande attenzione. Le portate erano ben bilanciate, sia in termini di quantità che di presentazione, valorizzando al meglio la materia prima. Il servizio é stato fuori dai canoni:attento,cortese e mai invadente. Ci siamo sentiti costantemente coccolati e seguiti con grande professionalità, senza mai la sensazione di essere dimenticati. Un‘ esperienza che consigliamo a chi cerca un‘eccellente cucina di pesce accompagnata da un‘ospitabilità impeccabile.

15/01/2025: Ristorante moderno ed elegante. Offre la cucina ligure piuttosto focalizzata sul pesce. Materie prime genuine. Vasta scelta di dolci di ottima qualità. Carta dei vini ricca e rappresentativa di livelli anche molto elevati. Tempi di attesa limitati. Servizio efficiente e gentile. Prezzo riflette la qualità. Consigliato!

30/09/2024: Io e la mia famiglia siamo stati a cena in questo locale venerdì 27 settembre, non conoscendo assolutamente Ventimiglia lo abbiamo scelto esclusivamente leggendo le recensioni, il locale è molto semplice ma accogliente, il cibo è qualitativamente molto buono, la pizza devo dire eccellente, se devo trovare una pecca posso solo dire che sulla pizza ai frutti di mare (visto il costo) mi sarei aspettata più pesce, ci tornerei volentieri.

The waitress (boss?) was totally annoyed, inflexible and rather unfriendly towards us We generated a lot of sales that evening in the almost empty pizzeria with around 15 people, but were treated in a rather derogatory manner by the lady in question (that's not how you treat guests and tourists if you want them to come back) In a tourist town you can expect to understand at least a little English (especially since the menu is printed in several languages), but you supposedly couldn't understand ingredients like paprika - I would say paprika is and sounds international With her rolling/rolling of her eyes she constantly made it clear to us that we were not welcome here. The next few days we constantly ate somewhere else. They wanted our money here, we felt comfortable here!
