18/08/2025: Unfortunately, compared to similar restaurants, we weren't satisfied. The place is very large and offers a good variety of entertainment, but I can't say the same for the food and prices. The meat was brought out dry and charred. Service like that is unacceptable. The staff are very attentive, but unfortunately, their attentiveness doesn't make up for the poor food with the high bill.

17/08/2025: The food was absolutely amazing. It was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our table was rarely checked on by the waiter, and it took over an hour just to receive the check. Additionally, when the waiter “invited” us to visit the dessert bar, he did not mention that it came with a €30 charge per person, which felt misleading once the bill arrived. While I would recommend the restaurant for its food, I hope management improves the service and communication with guests, as it significantly impacted the overall dining experience.

05/09/2025: Terrible food. Flavorless first courses, piled high with unsolicited grated cheese. Tomato bruschetta loaded with oil and dark basil; the bean bruschetta was awful, with canned beans opened and placed on bread. Nowhere near the famous Francischiello of 25 years ago, with its rustic, typical Ischian cuisine.

17/08/2025: Let me start by saying the food is exquisite. Absolutely delicious. It’s also situated by the castle, which is pretty magical at night. When we ate here last night, we arrived to an empty restaurant. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant with absolutely no view of the castle - it was hidden behind a wall. We kindly asked if we could have one of the tables by the water (they were all empty). They said the entire row of tables was reserved. We understood. We then noticed that there were additional tables next to those that also had a great view. One of them was about 15 feet from our table. I asked about it. They refused to let us sit there. Nobody was scheduled to sit there, they just didn’t want to accommodate us. If it were going to be a lot of work for them or some major request, I would understand. But it really was just saying no for the sake of saying no. They claimed “it might rain” as the reason, even though the skies were clear and there was no rain in the forecast. It rained for about 30 minutes an hour before but the storm had passed and there was zero sign of rain to come. (Update: it never rained again, as was very clear) We left around 1030P and the restaurant only ever got about half full at its peak. That table sat empty the entire time. Are they required to seat us there? Of course not. Was the refusal to accommodate when we traveled thousands of miles to be here for just a few short days frustrating? Absolutely. You see mixed reviews for this place. It’s never about the food. It’s always the service. And I understand why. If they had just let us sit there, it would have made our night. It would have been zero sweat off their backs, yet it was more of a “no because I said so” thing than anything else. Have you ever met anyone who just enjoyed saying no because they could? That’s what it felt like. Go to this place if you don’t care about good service and only want good food. If you want both, proceed with caution.

14/08/2025: So we stayed in Sorrento for 3 weeks and visited four times because of the staff and quality of food. Highly recommended, please try to get here and enjoy authentic Sorrento cuisine.

25/07/2025: It's a lively restaurant with good customer service, and the food is tasty and well-prepared, but not outstanding. There's a cute dog wandering around the dining room, but some people might find it uncomfortable. Considering the service charge (€2 per person), I find the overall price a bit high. They could at least include bread in that price.

Each bite was layered with bold, briny Mediterranean flavors that felt both rustic and refined. But it wasn’t just the food—it was the experience. The ambience, the gentle hum of conversation, and the atmosphere’s genuine warmth made my wife and me feel like we were dining in a Neapolitan home. Coming from NYC, it was exactly what we were looking for: a taste of tradition wrapped in hospitality.

02/09/2025: We spent a wonderful weekend in an enchanting location, surrounded by greenery. The entire staff welcomed us with an excellent welcome, and the cleanliness of our room was commendable. 31/08/2025: I stayed at this hotel for two nights and couldn't have asked for anything better! From check-in to check-out, everything was impeccable. The staff was extremely friendly, professional, and always available to meet any needs. I can highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for quality, comfort, and top-notch service. I will definitely be back!

09/06/2025: The food And service were absolutely amazing. They accommodated our party of nine. Perfect place for a quiet meal with breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. If you're driving your own vehicle, It's best to call ahead as with anywhere in Massa Lubrense, as there is limited space on parking, and the roads can be a bit of a challenge to Navigate. Definitely well worth a visit, and we are glad to have had the experience of dining here

26/08/2025: After our fifth visit, we truly believe Trattoria Scugnizzi deserves a positive review. We've tried practically everything during our four dinners and one lunch at this trattoria. Twice, we've had the famous spasella, a sort of "widened" mussel soup, complemented by a side dish of octopus. The first courses were perfectly cooked, in quantity, and quality, and we've tried so many, from spaghetti with clams, to spaghetti alla Nerano, to spaghetti genovese, and others—truly commendable. We've now counted this trattoria among the places we've been dining at least on Fridays for years. What more can we say except that we hope to be able to confirm this again in another four or five dinners/lunches. I forgot to mention that the excellent service and friendly staff add to the value of this place. I've recommended it to my children.

04/09/2025: An absolute must-visit in Naples! I got a table right away without a reservation. The staff is very friendly and attentive, the pizza is freshly prepared and incredibly delicious. The wait was short, and the music created a great atmosphere. Authentic ambiance – a real experience!
