The risotto with creamed scampi is a sublime dish, an almost mystical experience. Kudos to the entire staff, who are professional and very friendly. Highly recommended for anyone in the area.

06/11/2025: We had lunch at this restaurant located in the small square of Cetara. We ate excellent sea bream with lemon and spaghetti with anchovy sauce! The ingredients were very fresh and perfectly cooked! Excellent welcome and service; the owner and the waiters came over several times during lunch to make sure everything was fine and to our liking. Recommended.

04/01/2026: No better Italian experience than here! Family owned and run by the most welcoming people! We loved our food, the lasagna was homemade and the best we've ever had. Beautiful views of an old church and the Amalfi Coast. I wish I could eat there every meal!

13/10/2025: Previously reviewed under a different account, still mine, I'm posting it again on this new account. ... It happens, sometimes you ask for directions to a place to eat and then... Yes, then you hope to meet the same person the next day so you can thank them... I was enchanted, it felt like entering another dimension where you have to leave your worries behind and enjoy the evening... .... What can I say? The staff was competent, extremely kind, attentive, and, for me, "smiling." The service was precise and fast, the dishes were well-presented and even better cooked, from appetizer to dessert a riot of flavors. Thank you all, a great team of young people who work well... I also appreciated the harmony I perceived among the staff, attentive, serious, but very relaxed. There's everything you need to make the occasional diner or regular customer feel at ease. Leave your worries aside and let yourself be pampered... One thing's for sure: I'll be back!!! Oh, I forgot, the prices.... I blessed every euro I spent this evening, 40 euros that I'll never regret. I hope it can be helpful to those like me who are looking for a "special" place for an unforgettable evening.

10/11/2025: Amazing place! Spectacular sea views, a relaxing atmosphere, and super friendly staff. We had lunch just a few meters from the water with truly delicious dishes: a fresh seafood appetizer, flavorful seafood paccheri, and a light dessert with cream and strawberries that was simply heavenly. A glass of white wine, a sea breeze, and a breathtaking view... what more could you ask for? After lunch, we also enjoyed an aperitif overlooking the sea, and it was simply perfect. La Gavitella is one of those places where you can truly relax and enjoy the Amalfi Coast in all its splendor. ❤️

10/10/2025: Ate the most delicious pasta with rabbit, add in some fresh bread, local vegetables, olives and local white wine. A really relaxed lunch with an island feel. Staff were really friendly, the view was great and there is even local art by the family on display inside the restaurant.

Very helpful and accommodating- one of my sons has food limitations - and he always found something great to eat. The owner and family are lovely, kind and hospitable. 09/01/2026: I've been to this trattoria before under the previous management, and the quality and flavor of the dishes are beyond question; everything is excellent. But I have a few comments regarding the quantity and price: €20 for a plate of pasta a genovese with 10 rigatoni, €24 for a lamb main course with three pieces, and in total €180 for four people: a first course, a second course, two side dishes, a half-liter of wine, and two bottles of water. I'm not arguing with the price, given the location and the day (New Year's Day), but with the quantity of the dishes.

06/01/2026: Highly recommended. The mixed antipasto platter is generous and features typical local flavors. Vittorio is a truly attentive and genuine host. The pasta alla genovese we shared after the appetizer was also exquisite. Not to mention the lemon tiramisu, a real treat... a complimentary liqueur to finish.

20/12/2025: Limited flexibility in editing the food items which is standard in italy but they were very kind to us as we are vegetarian. They made us Gnocchi sorrentino and it was the best italian dish I may have had in my whole life. Ate it twice in a 3-4 day stay in positano. Honestly if you are vegetarian the dish will not disappoint it is hands down created for the gods. So fantastic! The tomato sauce and the basil really shine through the dish, it is truly something special! Beautiful family! Cheers to the chef making such an extraordinary dish, yet so simple. I refuse to eat Gnocchi anywhere else because I don’t want to be disappointed. Truly hand crafted!

10/02/2026: Extremely well assisted by Patrizio and his team :) The pizza itself was a snapshot of the true authentic Neapolitan cuisine. We had the Nanni pizza and the tomatoes were the best. The pillowy dough was also very good. We had a child with us and the atmosphere was great and very welcoming. Highly recommended!
