21/08/2025: Average food...truthfully...but the service is quite discriminatory...they have a menu for tourists...but if you are Italian it is special for them...my husband ordered a "Milanese" for the 2nd course, which was a chicken breast as thin as a slice of ham...but it just so happens that the table next to us who were Italian had a normal-sized Milanese...so if you don't want to be taken for a ride at all, I recommend eating here.

12/08/2025: This is a tourist trap, as most of the restaurants in Venice, especially close to the train station. I had a lunch here because i wasn’t able to move too far at that time. The prices are quite high but compared with other restaurants is okay. I had a lasagna, nothing special but okay. Maybe the portion could had be bigger.

30/10/2025: Hostaria Galileo offers average cuisine typical of the touristy parts of Venice, nothing special, the food won't offend, but it won't impress either. Online reviews are mixed, people either praise the place or criticize it for its quality and service. I wasn't impressed by the Pinot Grigio and for the extra €3 for a couvert and €3.50 for an espresso, I expected a bit more (this put me off more than the food itself). I would definitely recommend having lunch here if you're passing by, but if you're looking for better value for money, look for a restaurant in another part of town.

19/06/2025: Très bon restaurant avec une magnifique petite terrasse fleurie au bord d' un canal . Linguini et dorade excellents. Très bon service avec découpe du poisson à table et des prix très corrects sur cette ile très très fréquentée

16/06/2025: Good service. Many options for food. Good friendly staff and the only restaurant that offered butter with bread :) Seafood options were good. Cuttle fish wasn’t really up to the avoid. Best to avoid. The tiramisu was outstanding.. a must try.

25/11/2025: The staff was extremely unfriendly. They refused to give me coffee and a table reservation. The man, most likely the owner, was extremely rude. I definitely don't want to go back.

24/11/2025: Only came here for a spritz and it’s definitely worth just sitting and admiring the spectacular view. The staff were so friendly, the spritz was good and the views speak for itself

03/05/2025: Il ristorante presenta dei tipici piatti veneziani di buona qualità con quantità forse un po' modesta. Il prezzo è in linea con quelli di Venezia

26/04/2025: Ein sehr schön gelegenes Restaurant, bei dem es auf den ersten Blick auch nach leckerem Essen aussieht. Wir waren dann vom Essen sehr enttäuscht. Rundherum kann man deutlich bessere Qualität italienischen Essens geniessen. Service bestand aus eher wortkargen, eher mürrischen, älteren Herren. Die Pesto-Sauce an meinen Spaghetti war aus dem Fertig-Glas, wie ich es zu Hause in jedem Lebensmittelladen kaufen kann. Frittura Mista zu wenig frittiert und demnach die Calamari Fritti wie ein Kaugummi zum kauen. Einfach alles lieblos ausser die Tischchen direkt am Kanal. Schade, bessere Küche und das Lokal wäre eine Goldgrube, gut, das ist es wohl aus so, denn es liegt direkt an einer der vielen Hauptrouten für Touris.

09/11/2025: We waited 30 minutes just to be seated, even if there were free tables. Once seated, we waited 15 minutes just to order and another 15 minutes to get three sandwiches (they had stated a 10-minute wait). However, we had also ordered fries, which sat on the counter for 15 minutes without ever being brought to our table. When we went to pay, their excuse was, "We have computer problems." Too bad they took the order with pen and paper! The food was pretty good, but the service was terrible!!!

04/11/2025: Disgraceful service and zero empathy. I came in with my 3-month-old baby who was crying from hunger and asked to heat her bottle in the microwave for 10 seconds (which they do everywhere). The staff's response? "No, you can't." It's inhumane and absurd in 2025. Is the place nice? Yes. But the coldness of the staff makes it unacceptable. Never spend another penny here. I strongly advise all families not to go there: go somewhere else, where at least they treat you like human beings. CUSTOMER CARE FIRST!!

20/07/2025: Siamo stati accolti come fossimo persone di famiglia. Abbiamo mangiato benissimo, pesce freschissimo. Consiglio se si vuole mangiare tipico e fare una vera esperienza alla Giudecca in un posto storico. Torneremo presto. Grazie mille a tutti voi.

19/07/2025: Eins meiner Lieblingsrestaurants in Venedig (Giudecca). Leider muss man über die Jahre leider einen negativen Trend beobachten. Preise sind entschieden gestiegen und die Portionen werden immer kleiner (willkommen bei der Touristengastronomie). Schade, denn Location ist sehr individuell und schön. Mal schauen, wie oft ich hier noch aufschlagen werde.

24/10/2025: I don't recommend it. We ordered waffles and they were horrible, dry, and looked like they were from the day before. When we told him about it, the waiter responded as if to say, "They ate it anyway." He was rude. On top of that, they charged us for the cover and then an extra table service fee as a tip. Everything was terrible.

17/10/2025: Avoid, the ultimate rip-off. Two drinks for 40 euros, a bit of a rip-off. We paid for the setting.

19/07/2025: Una vera delusione per chi ama il crudo come me e sicuramente abituato a portate di ottimo livello . Presentare un piattino con 2 gamberi e 1 scampo con 3 carpaccini di ricciola spada e ombrina al prezzo di 28€ è un vero e proprio furto . Pagare un conto di 75 € a testa per un piatto di spaghetti al nero di seppia e uno spaghetto ai lupini di laguna è assolutamente una presa in giro . Ah dimenticavo per finire 2 palline di sorbetto e una porzione di tiramisù. 150€ spesi veramente male . Sconsiglio vivamente. Cibo: 1/5 | Servizio: 1/5 | Ambiente: 1/5

07/07/2025: Siamo stati in questo ristorante un sabato sera con un buon numero di amici, ma l’esperienza è stata tutt’altro che positiva. Appena arrivati, non ci è stato fornito alcun listino prezzi, lasciandoci completamente all’oscuro su cosa potessimo ordinare e sui costi. Il titolare ha deciso in gran parte lui, considerando solo in parte le nostre richieste: avevamo chiesto molto cotto o poco crudo, ma è arrivato metà crudo e metà cotto. Abbiamo potuto scegliere poco perché c’era gran poca scelta nelle sue proposte e cercava di imporre le sue decisioni. Gli antipasti erano semplici e poco saporiti, niente di speciale. Le cappelonghe erano pessime, tanto che nessuno le ha mangiate. L’unico primo che ci ha proposto era uno spaghettino, che nessuno ha preso, e lo stesso è successo con il secondo, una grigliata di pesce. Anche in questo caso avevamo chiesto determinate cose, ma il titolare ha fatto di testa sua. La grigliata era deludente: il branzino insapore e pieno di grasso, mentre la sogliola non aveva gusto. Il conto è stato un altro shock: 110 euro a testa, senza aver ricevuto alcuno scontrino (e, a detta loro, già “scontato”). Per aver mangiato solo antipasti e una grigliata scadente, ci è sembrato un vero e proprio furto. Penso che il titolare sia molto molto furbo, aveva già deciso il prezzo quando siamo arrivati… la professionalità non sa minimamente cosa sia… Esperienza da dimenticare. Non torneremo mai più.

08/11/2025: Terrible experience. We ordered two boiled fish dishes, and after 5 minutes the dishes arrived: frozen fish covered in garlic, inedible... It all seemed frozen and tasteless except for the garlic! After reporting it to the manager and waiters, they only took off 10 percent, so we paid almost 70 euros for two boiled dishes without having eaten anything! An experience truly not to be repeated. …….

24/09/2025: Yesterday, 25 of us went for my son's birthday, with a reservation of course. The food was good. It's a shame they didn't have two bottles of Prosecco at dessert and wanted to give us a bottle we'd had at lunch, rudely telling me they'd run out because there were people at midday. What kind of response would that be? It's not my problem if you're not organized. When it came to the bill, I asked several times, and even got the receipt wrong. Once I had all the money, I was told she'd made a mistake, forgotten about the service charges, about €60 was missing, and that it was my fault for rushing her... At that time, we were the only ones there! The lady who served us was great, and I understand she was confused since she was alone, but unfortunately, I strongly advise against it!

12/10/2025: So if one could give negative stars, now would be the time. The only tasty thing was the wine. Otherwise, the worst food we've ever eaten. And not cheap either. The bread basket placed on the table for all of us could just as well be the leftovers from all the tables. Because whatever wasn't eaten, whether wrapped or unwrapped, was put back for the next guests and their bread baskets. That was the point where it was all over for us.
