15/08/2024: I had an unforgettable stay at Palazzo Barbini in Castiglione del Lago! The historic charm of the property, combined with modern comforts, made for a perfect experience. The spacious and beautifully decorated rooms offered stunning views of the lake and surrounding countryside. Brando, our host, was exceptional—warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist with local tips and recommendations. His attention to detail truly made our stay special. The location is ideal, with easy access to the town’s attractions and lovely restaurants. I can't recommend Palazzo Barbini and Brando enough for a relaxing and authentic Italian getaway!

21/07/2024: Great experience!!! Top marks for this ancient residence, visible efforts to keep the furnishings as original as possible. Congratulations for the welcome, the boy of particular education and courtesy. We were welcomed with all the attention, fresh water upon arrival and a delicious coffee upon check out. Top marks to the cook, and all the staff (of the pasta elementary school). I would return to Castiglione just to taste its dishes again (all superb). The spacious rooms, excellent cleanliness, hydromassage tub. Plus coffee, tea, air conditioning. Our little girl slept great on a top-brand sofa bed. The double room of the imperial suite sent us back in time. It gave me the thrill, especially when waking up with the sound of bells. Very original!!!

09/08/2024: Ci imbattiamo per caso nella Locanda dei bracconieri mentre cerchiamo la strada per raggiungere il centro storico di Deruta. La gentilezza del titolare, l’accuratezza degli arredi anche nei minimi particolari che fanno eco ai colori e all’arte di Deruta sono il preludio ad un benessere ulteriore che si esprime con l’alta qualità della materia prima della maestria delle preparazioni. Lasciamo la locanda felici e coccolati anche dalle gradevoli chiacchierate con il titolare che ci narra della sua splendida regione.

28/05/2024: Be aware this is fine dining! the menu is small, but well crafted. lots of game meats as befitting the theme, high quality, very delicious but with quite small portions of the main course averaging 20 euros. To get full you HAVE to spend approx 13 euros more in appetisers or something. Thank god there was plenty of bread and that too was very high quality, since we embaressingly werent ready to spend more money than we did on the delicious main course. A bit strange you could seemingly only order wine by the glass but it wasnt an issue. sitting outside is very comfortable and pretty, with ceramics and flowers. the married couple running the place were very attentive and friendly.

09/08/2024: We love going here. The food is very good. Especially the pizza and tortellini alla Norcina were really tasty!! I practically recommend everything. The most common thing is that in high season there is a huge construction site in front of the door, so it is very difficult to see and very difficult to get to. I'm very sorry because the restaurant is really really good, it's worth it. A very nice outdoor terrace, with a good atmosphere and view.

25/08/2024: Era da tempo che volevamo provarlo e alla fine siamo rimasti delusi. Il menù si presenta con delle fantastiche ed allettanti descrizioni, ma i piatti non le rispecchiano affatto. Sei ravioli nel piatto con 4 pomodorini ciliegino spaccati a metà a fare da condimento e una grattata di ricotta salata, la parmigiana di zucchine altro non era che 3 fettine di zucchina tonda tagliata a laser a strato con salsa di pomodoro e mozzarella. 2 bottiglie di acqua naturale, non aperte al tavolo, non con etichetta fuori, ma riempite, 2,50€ l'una, non comprese nel coperto. Mi dispiace, ma assolutamente caro per quello che viene proposto.

29/07/2024: Durante Umbria jazz ci siamo imbattuti in questo ristorante assolutamente all'altezza. Abbiamo consumato due primi e due secondi in una stradina limitrofa a corso Vannucci, all'aperto. Tutto squisito

01/08/2024: Facciamo i complimenti vivissimi per la breve attesa di due ore per cenare a rate, altrettanti complimenti per la griglia fai da te 22x22 cm tipica da ristorante. Un ulteriore complimento per il vino a temperatura the caldo. Un grazie per la costata ben cotta invece che al sangue, e di 600gr spacciata e pagata per un kg. Infine grazie mille per il servizio e la disponibilità nel rovinarci la prima sera si ferie. Non abbiamo esagerato.

30/08/2024: This is a restaurant where we have enjoyed excellent squid several times, fine cuisine, very tasty grilled fish, the pasta with lobster is sublime! Fantastic sitting outside with a view of the lake! Recommended!

12/08/2024: Unfortunately, I have to add myself to all those who write negative reviews... I headed towards this place after reading an article (I imagine it's dated) where the place was presented as a good restaurant with good food. Alas, the fact of entering with the place completely empty immediately gave rise to doubts, but by now I was there... The menu offers little, the portions are not abundant and the price, contrary to that read in the article, is not commensurate to what you eat.. A bit too much.. I'm sorry... for wasting money...

03/05/2024: I hope that my words can be of help to those unfortunate enough to find themselves in the same situation as me. I had to cancel the booking at this facility for my eighteenth birthday two months after the first contacts I unfortunately had with the person in charge of managing the events. The person in question defined relations with me and my family as a "nightmare" and a "worry" (and I quote his words verbatim) for the simple fact of having tried to organize as soon as possible, so as to be all more certain about the to have, a buffet dinner with simple typical Umbrian products (torta al testo, pizza, crostini etc), based on a menu that we had to ask for four times because each time the dishes were changed with gourmet products, which we had specified not be adequate for our guests, or because some dishes had been removed while obviously leaving the price unchanged (certainly quite high compared to the courses requested). What I want to highlight is the extreme rudeness of this person precisely in a job where customer care should be privileged; as long as you adapt to his gourmet proposals, he is very kind and prompt in his response, as soon as you request another type of menu, he finds all sorts of justifications (the children who delete the messages, the secretary who doesn't know how to copy and paste and how much more). I would point out that he himself was the first to specify that we could ask for anything by paying, which was also not very elegant to say, given that we didn't have a pre-established spending budget and we hadn't even asked the cost. Doubly mercenary given that, since the party included an open bar service with the supply of drinks upon presentation of a special ticket, he initially also wanted us to pay two tickets per person, even if they were not consumed. I won't add anything other than that, without him, my birthday will undoubtedly be one of 2000 and one nights, given that he also dared to tell me that in the end mine was just a birthday and not a wedding of a thousand and one nights, again to quote his exact words. Lastly, I would like to point out that this outburst of mine absolutely does not concern the Mariotti family, with whom we had already had relations for other family events which were successful and for which we were fully satisfied. A real shame that such an impeccable location is left in the hands of such personalities.

12/08/2024: Un ristorante dove non c'è una bistecca o una tagliata ma solo filetto e non gradito non e degno di chiamarsi tale.inoltre non e pizzeria come vi e scritto .bel locale ma non c'è scelta . solo pesce di lago .porzioni non abbondanti con un conto salato.un piatto di pasta al sugo con Picci .davvero un assaggio .e un tartara di verdure . Pagare quasi 70 euro lo trovo un furto .delusione totale per un magnifico posto

27/07/2024: Decisamente un'ottima esperienza ieri sera a cena! In 4 (3 adulti e 1 bimba di 6 anni) abbiamo preso un antipasto misto di lago, 3 secondi (1 frittura di lago, 1 regina e 1 luccio) un risotto al ragù di volatili di lago 1 patata fritta, 1 dolce (deliziose pesche sciroppate fatte in casa con gelato al basilico), 2 acqua, 1 grechetto del Trasimeno, 1 aranciata bio, 2 caffè e 2 amari per 180 euro. A questi si sono uniti 2 prosecchi di benvenuto e un entree offerti dal locale. Vi facciamo tantissimi complimenti soprattutto per avermi fatto rimangiare il pesce di lago dopo tanti anni (seppur ci abito vicino e mi piace pescare non sono un'amante dell'ittica lacustre). Torneremo sicuramente!

10/08/2024: We ordered two spaghetti alla guitar with clams only and he made me pay for them as if they were on the menu with courgette flowers at 17 euros each! The cooked pasta is sticky the only thing that was saved was the starter of very good and abundant sea! Experience to forget

16/03/2024: Tutto buonissimo, ci sono tornata nella stessa settimana perché davvero merita. Il proprietario molto gentile, ambiente accogliente, cibo delizioso.

28/01/2024: Assolutamente sotto le aspettative, parmigiana di carciofi IMMANGIABILE, nauseante dalla quantità di olio che rilasciava, immangiabile!! E pur non avendola toccata e comunicato che era eccessivamente fritta, ce l’hanno fatta pagare ugualmente! Le tartare non erano assolutamente di qualità, poi abbiamo preso un primo, gli gnocchetti che erano insapore con quantità di condimento scarsissime. Il menù non è visibile nel sito né da nessun’altra parte. Il servizio è scarso rispetto all’esposizione del ristorante.

02/08/2024: An appetizer €18 of cured meats, cheeses and various bruschettas, as it was written on the menu, it's a shame that a plate arrived with 2 bruschettas, a slice of cheese and a few slices of salami, the first courses, acid sauce and white ragù that tasted of wine, bill salty and honestly poor quality food. I absolutely do not recommend
