30/07/2025: They have a very nice terrace where you can sit and have dinner with a nice atmosphere. We tried “pasta a la Sarde”, typical of Sicily and also the typical dessert “cassata”. A quiet place with good food.

26/07/2025: Very warm and welcoming place inside and outside you are very comfortable, professional staff. Excellent quality food, the taste of the fish was very present, as it is fresh, even with slightly elaborate dishes, in fact I would like to recommend the preparation of some fish-based dishes in a traditional way, therefore simple such as grilled swordfish so you can fully enjoy the flavor of the same. Overall, a round of applause to all the staff.

05/09/2025: We had a few drinks and then dinner with my friend. The people at the restaurant were very friendly from start to finish and were able to find us a table even though the restaurant was full for the evening. The food is excellent and fresh. We loved our dinner and our experience at Cartari Locanda.

04/10/2025: We visited about fifteen restaurants during our stay in Sicily, and I would rate this one among the top. Reservations are mandatory. We ordered two rabbits, wine, and julienne. Everything was delicious, home-cooked, and the portions were quite large. The place is pleasant and cozy, but not very large. I definitely recommend it, and order the rabbit (if it's on the menu that day)—you won't regret it!

16/09/2025: Good traditional food. No complaints about the service or the location. An excellent combination of quality and price. The only flaw is the desserts...definitely worth revisiting (we tried both the pasticciotto cake and the tiramisu; although they were homemade, they were probably a few days old and didn't do justice to the rest of the dinner).

08/10/2025: The trattoria is family-run. The father and son are very friendly and helpful; they explained the entire menu to us. We begin with a welcome from the kitchen. The food is truly delicious and freshly prepared. The cheesecake is highly recommended.

03/09/2025: Like a Castle Aug 2025 Petralia Sottana was a pleasant surprise, as was "the castle." Everything was superb and perfect. The rooms were spacious, clean, and quiet. The rooms were tastefully decorated with classic furniture, making it truly feel like you're in a castle. Good breakfast. The owner and the girls were very kind and helpful. For a one-night stopover, we couldn't have asked for better.

11/08/2025: A pizza place or restaurant. It offers a good variety of very good dishes. We tried both the meat and pasta dishes, and the pan-fried pizza was truly excellent! The only downside is the entrance, which is a bit awkward for those with mobility issues or a stroller. To get in, you have to climb some steep stone stairs. For this reason alone, I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5.

07/10/2025: A place to return to time and time again: excellent quality products, in an atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. Thanks to Tony & Alex and their families. I absolutely recommend the bucatini with sardines and the fish skewers: you can almost smell the sea air. P.S. Thank you (and for the bread!)

05/10/2025: Excellent octopus salad, excellent cod with Tropea onions, excellent Mediterranean-style swordfish. Fairly priced and top-notch staff (Tony and Alex are incredibly friendly, helpful, and courteous). Highly recommended if you're in Palermo and want a proper seafood dinner.

04/10/2025: Nestled in a charming corner of Piano Battaglia, this restaurant is a real surprise. The warm and welcoming atmosphere is perfect after a walk in the woods. The traditional and authentic dishes reflect the flavors of the mountains: fresh mushrooms, local cheeses, and delicious meats. A place you'll want to return just to savor those authentic flavors again. Highly recommended!

14/09/2025: This historic restaurant is known throughout the city for its traditional pizza, but in truth, all their dishes are delicious. It's often super crowded, and given its location (on a narrow street), it's hard to find a parking spot and grab a bite. The place is quite dated, so it's not exactly inviting, but the staff is friendly.

21/09/2025: I chose this restaurant because it was listed in the Michelin Guide, but I was very disappointed. The welcome was warm, and given the beautiful day, we chose to eat in the courtyard. As for the dishes we chose (both recommended by the server), the mushrooms in the first course were very fresh and delicious but cooked in a banal way, and in the second course, the pork in a crust was cold and tough. When they saw the untouched dish, they insisted I try it again, but in the second course, the pork was also undercooked: this time, it was hot but raw inside, so I left it on the plate. I was not at all satisfied. In my opinion, this restaurant is not worthy of being included in the Michelin Guide. Good, but not overly so!

04/08/2025: A wonderful discovery on our first stay in Ustica. The fish was top-quality, divinely prepared, and the service was excellent. Well-deserved compliments to everyone; it was a pleasure to return the next evening.

01/08/2025: I was in Ustica the first week of July with my boyfriend! We ate at this restaurant on two evenings. Excellent service, a nice Sicilian wine list with excellent wine pairing recommendations. The fresh grouper tartare was excellent, as were the fried Ustica shrimp, and why not, their special menu item created especially for us (🫣). The sea-view terrace is perfect for a romantic dinner... I hope to see you soon. Margherita
