A pleasant discovery! We were celebrating a graduation. I contacted the owner, explaining that we weren't local and would have to arrange everything over the phone. He was extremely helpful and courteous. We agreed on the menu, and he designed the cake, which was delicious, as were the rest of the dishes. The service was impeccable and courteous. We felt truly pampered.
Well done!

An absolute must-try in Piana degli Albanesi! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"Reviewed 6 years ago and confirmed today: this place is a rare gem. 💎
Despite the passage of time, the quality remains top-notch and the customer service has even improved. Piana degli Albanesi is famous for its cannoli, but this is Sicily's true 'hidden niche' for those seeking authenticity.
Service: Impeccable and super attentive staff.
Quality/Price: Unbeatable, today as then.
Recommendation: A must-visit if you want to be on the safe side.
I'm attaching my old review to demonstrate that consistency is their true strength. Bravo!"

Better than my own living room.
Rainy day, low clouds, gloomy, gray, and only 8°C outside. After a first attempt a few weeks ago, I'm giving this osteria another try.
Even upon entering: I love the ambiance, I love these terracotta ceilings and stone walls. Wooden wine cellar lids and scattered wine bottles, some open, some still corked. Just before 1 p.m., no one else is there. But it's definitely the kind of atmosphere I prefer in Italy. I feel like I'm in an old osteria in Tuscany, in Montepulciano, Cortona, or Siena. I mustn't forget to mention the Chianti Classico region. Shame on me.
The menu is small and concise: 4 antipasti, 4 primi, 4 main courses, and 4 desserts. That's more than enough, and when I order, they immediately suggest I order half a portion of the antipasti, as the pasta is very rich. I gladly accept the advice and order a glass of red wine. At my table, I'm served an upgrade from the regular house wine to the Shymer from Baglio di Pianetto. A blend of Merlot and Syrah, deep ruby red, with a wonderful, inviting, fruity nose. I know the winery well; I went there for a tasting in my early years. Since then, I've ordered from them a few times, and several customers have been more than enthusiastic about the Ramione.
The antipasti cacio, fried with honey and pistachios, is crispy, the cheese very intense, the combination is perfect, and with the wine, it's a dream.
The pasta pappardelle with ragu salsiccia, homemade, is simply delicious. The pasta is perfectly al dente, and the ragu is just sensationally good. I definitely need another glass of red wine, please. I let time drift by, listening and watching, simply enjoying the moment.
A few villagers came for lunch, all for a quick pasta or a slice of meat with vegetables. Wine is a must. Afterwards, a good espresso, on the house, which is announced at the register.
This is definitely a place I'll be visiting regularly—too good, too delicious, and the perfect Italian feel-good atmosphere. If I lived there, I'd be there at least three times a week, and certainly five times for a glass of wine.
Until next time, greetings, Peter
