23/09/2025: We couldn't have chosen a better place for our first experience in the Etna National Park. Laura and Giuseppe were spectacular hosts... The farmhouse, nestled in the greenery of the park, was a heavenly place to unwind from the daily grind. We all had a great time, even our 5-year-old son and our 6-year-old dog. Highly recommended!

09/11/2025: First time in Catania. First time eating horse meat. First time at Polpetteria. It was recommended to me. It's located on a very charming pedestrian street with plenty of restaurants. The meat was excellent. The appetizer was exceptional. The wine selection was extensive. Must try!

09/12/2025: I visited this restaurant with a group of 24, and the experience was, unfortunately, very bad. They split us between two tables—an understandable choice—but the service was horrendously poor: one table received their dishes immediately, while the other had to wait about 20 minutes, as if we were two completely separate groups. The portions, served on shared trays, were truly meager. Their "house dish," Monte Conca macaroni, cost €16, but several people at my table and I ate a maximum of 8-10 macaroni each. One person at our table couldn't even taste the pasta, so much so that they had to bring an extra tray only after I pointed it out. And to think, we were guaranteed that the trays would be shared by everyone... which was impossible, unless we settled for three macaroni each. The dish, besides being small, was also disappointing: basically, pasta with tomato sauce, with very little eggplant and no trace of pancetta, despite it being listed as an ingredient. To top off an already poor experience, the drinks bill was exorbitant: between water and Coke, we spent €93, significantly disproportionate to the quality and quantity. I'm giving it one star only because Google doesn't allow lower ratings. Disappointing experience, insufficient portions, and disorganized service. I won't return, and I don't recommend it.

08/12/2025: I'm giving it a star because it's the lowest it can be, but it would clearly be -10 stars. I had lunch at this restaurant on Etna and it was a terrible experience from start to finish. The staff was unpleasant and unhelpful, as if they were doing us a favor instead of providing a service. The portions? A joke. We paid handsomely per person, but they were served on a single tray that wasn't even enough for half the table. Their specialty, "maccheroni monteconca," didn't even taste like the pasta described, and the pancetta probably didn't even smell like it. The appetizer "for two" consisted of just one tiny piece of everything, forcing us to split it into micro-portions... obviously paying full price. Water: €93, as if we'd ordered 30 bottles, so two bottles each. There were 24 of us, and they brought us only 18 tiny pieces of provolone, charging 10 euros each for a total of 180 euros. Ridiculous. The main courses? We were forced to split them in two to allow everyone to try something, but we still paid full price as if we'd each had a full portion. All things considered, 24 people barely ate, and we paid 1,680 euros, or 70 euros each, leaving practically starving. And can we talk about the waits? Two hours between each course. Tables belonging to the same group separated and served at completely different times. A group of young people out having fun, and it almost seems like they're bothered if they decide to make a couple of extra toasts. The icing on the cake? "I'll give you the coffee and the amaro for free," said with incredible nerve. A place like this is not only "unworthy," but should be shut down. Zero respect for customers and for those who actually earn money by working.

06/12/2025: I gave one star because I can't give zero. There were seven of us. I ordered a salad because I'm celiac, even though there were some gluten-free meat options. The service was terrible, as the meat ordered by the others arrived all at once, while I had to wait 30 minutes longer for my salad than the others. We're talking about a salad, and it's unacceptable to let that much time pass. The salads ordered by the others as a side dish arrived first, rather than mine, which was my main course. Not to mention the quantity of the salad, which I can only call paltry. They also ruined my friends' dinner because their dishes got cold while they tried to wait for me. Not to mention the final bill: we weren't expecting anything, but at least an apology would have been appreciated. Instead, to top it off, we were sarcastically asked if there were any problems.

26/10/2025: New excellent pizza, beautiful, off-menu, with bruschetta cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, ham, tuna, onion, arugula, mushrooms, eggs, and parmesan. Pizza THE KING 👑 Beautiful place, modern, very good staff, fast. Clean

28/09/2025: Zucchini and tuna pizza: Four slices of zucchini and perhaps the equivalent of half a can of canned tuna, a new jaw to chew on a crust that resembles a car tire, and the next morning still to digest with accompanying heartburn. I thought it had gone badly the last time I was there, but this time, it's exactly like that. What a shame, the Mamadina of old is gone, a real shame.

24/10/2025: We had a lovely quiet lunch here during our day exploring Catania. The gentleman serving us was very nice and we both enjoyed our meals (especially the caprese). Would certainly come back if we return to Sicily!

07/10/2025: Me and my 4 sisters attended this restaurant for a birthday lunch, can I start off by saying the restaurant itself is beautiful! The decor is very unique alongside the placement of all the random vintage pieces along the wall magnificent! We ordered a few dishes and the total amount (€160) was extremely affordable we live in London so the price difference for the seafood was great! If you come definitely get the grilled sea-bream it was cooked to perfection, the mussels were very tasty so was the octopus salad! The only downside was the grilled prawns I feel they could have grilled them for longer maybe split them down the middle so they are cleaned better and included more seasonings as they were very bland. Apart from the prawns everything else was amazing the service was excellent and we was even offered lemoncello on the house. I would definitely come back when we are next in Sicily.

20/10/2025: Beautiful place with a sea view, classic Sicilian lunch with good fish and to finish a very good strawberry sorbet, service a little serious but efficient, a few more smiles wouldn't hurt, but highly recommended

05/06/2025: Ho pranzato due domeniche fa in questo buon ristorante situato nel centro della città, dietro la Via Etnea. Sono rimasto molto soddisfatto dalla qualità del cibo proposto e dal servizio veloce e cortese (dal momento che purtroppo avevo l'aereo a breve). Ho preso maccheroni alla norma, cotoletta e torta al limone. Il ristorante ha una ricca carta di pietanze sia di carne che di pesce. Mi sento di consigliarlo a chi viene in città, considerando che non è facile trovare nella zona ristoranti altrettanto buoni. Spero io stesso di tornarci presto.
