23/12/2025: It's been a while since I've been, but the excellent quality of the ingredients has endured. The place is divided in two by the fish counter, with two entrances: one for the fishmonger and one for the small, cozy dining area. I think it can seat four or five tables, and the highlight is that when you walk in, you can smell the sea air without any unpleasant odors. The young man who served us was helpful and knowledgeable, and recommended the razor clams au gratin, which were excellent! For a treat, we each had an oyster and a salad with salmon sashimi, all deliciously fresh and top-quality! The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that, in my opinion, they should lower the wine prices a bit. Highly recommended!

12/10/2025: Never again! Yesterday, a friend of mine and I ate an appetizer, two regular pizzas, a glass of wine, and a water, for a total of €51, so €25 each. I didn't want to cause a scene in front of the tables that were still in the restaurant, but I saw that the bill indicated a special pizza menu (I instead ordered a pizza that wasn't one of the special ones (called grottino; the special ones were, for example, cacio e pepe, amatriciana, etc.) and an extra appetizer. The pizza menu said the appetizer was included, but instead they charged us for it separately. Terrible treatment; that's why I gave it one star; we were very disappointed.

08/03/2026: The kindness is priceless, the welcome wonderful, I liked the trombolotto, I don't know if it's homemade or from a local company... the tagliatella with mushrooms, absolutely not, no flavor and no seasoning... ditto the polenta... applause for the Shiraz from Villa Gianna... the suggestion is definitely to measure the seasonings more appropriately. 12/01/2026: Finally, a restaurant like it used to be. We visited this restaurant last December and found a welcoming atmosphere, tasty but not heavy food, and finally decent portions. We were traveling with a small child and received a lot of understanding. The homemade desserts were truly delicious. If I ever return to Gaeta, I'll definitely return.

01/02/2026: A restaurant that serves like a Michelin-starred restaurant, exorbitant prices, food that doesn't justify the price, especially for the first courses. I had a tonnarello with clams and porcini mushrooms that was floating in oil, a very heavy fried calamari, and a shrimp parmigiana. I was even lucky, I found one.

26/01/2026: The place needs renovation, small and left to chance. An awning over the entrance should be removed. Excellent service, kind and helpful. Food? The chef needs a change. Entree with sandwiches, mayonnaise, and shrimp (nothing to write home about). The hot appetizer was cold and inedible. Both in quality and execution. A shame.

01/10/2025: We were refused to eat here when we went inside the restaurant. The lady even scolded my friend on what she was wearing (off shoulder top), very unnecessary. Very bad experience. We just went out of the restaurant, even so, she continued to tell us that it was wrong to enter the restaurant. Hays.

23/08/2025: It's always a shame for me to leave a negative review, especially when the location is truly delightful: small but meticulously maintained and with a pleasant atmosphere. For this very reason, I believe constructive criticism can help both the owners, helping them grow and improve, and future customers, helping them have a more satisfying experience. During our dinner, however, several inconveniences arose that I must point out. As soon as we sat down, we found the placemat dirty, likely not replaced after the previous service. A detail that alone wouldn't have ruined the evening, but unfortunately it was the first in a series of oversights. We ordered a first course to share and two second courses. Unfortunately, the tagliatelle with lamb ragù was so salty that it was difficult to enjoy. The wild boar meatballs, however, arrived cold and partly burned. Finally, the sliced ​​beef: we weren't asked how it was cooked, and, without a proper knife for serving, we were faced with overcooked, very salty, and difficult to cut meat. A real shame, especially since the prices were decidedly high compared to the actual quality of what we were served. I sincerely hope these observations are helpful: the location has potential, but the cuisine and service deserve more attention to live up to expectations.

30/12/2025: I visited this pub as a couple and had a truly pleasant experience. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always available, making us feel immediately at ease. The quality of the meat is excellent, well-cooked, and flavorful; you can sense the attention to detail in selecting the ingredients. The place is beautiful, well-kept, and very welcoming, perfect for a quiet evening or just to spend time with friends. Definitely a place to return to.

23/11/2025: Terrible November 2025 A beautiful and well-maintained place, except that the service was so terrible that we left, warning them that this isn't the way to behave, and without having eaten anything. At 12:45, a friend and I sat down because from the outside it looked like an inspiring place. Upon entering, we found a table (practically served) and a table that had already ordered, and then it was just us. Within a few minutes, we took our order, which consisted of two plates of bruschetta (three bruschettas per plate) and two glasses of white wine. Around 1:00, the wine arrived, and so far so good, but then time began to pass and we began to have some doubts. At 1:40, we decided that if another five minutes had passed without seeing the bruschetta, we would have left. Meanwhile, in those 40 minutes (40 minutes for six bruschettas), two more tables were seated and ordered. At 1:45 PM, after an hour, the bruschetta was brought to the table, unfortunately not ours, where the gentlemen had sat down practically fifteen minutes earlier. Maybe they didn't like the fact that we only wanted an aperitif, or I don't know, but it's truly unreasonable to wait about 50 minutes for six bruschetta that we've practically never seen. I can understand if there had been a lot of people, full tables, and so many orders, but it really wasn't the case, so we stood up, thanked them, told them that they shouldn't do that, and left. Never again.

25/02/2026: A historic restaurant in Gaeta, every time you go on a trip, you eat at Masaniello. The fish is incredibly fresh, the service is impeccable, and the prices are affordable.

09/03/2026: Terrible!!! Worst place to eat in Rome, the pasta tastes like old cement, awful, I couldn't eat it after the first bite.

06/03/2026: Well it wasn’t as bad as what some people make it to be. Yes, it is in an extremely touristy area, almost right beside the train station within a whole district of 3/4 star hotels, so of course it is catered towards tourists, and of course most of the workers aren’t Italians, like those small trattorias you may find in the outskirts of cities. But that’s fine, because you’re in Rome, right beside the train station. The risotto alla Milanese was alright, it’s neither good nor bad. I can’t tell if they actually used saffron or food dye though. But the portion is huge. Carbonara also fine, not bad but not good either, it’s creamy, salty, kinda al dente but just lacks the fragrance from a nice carbonara made with rendered down guanciale. Braised oxtail was forgettable, it’s basically just oxtail simmered in tomato sauce. Sitting at the outdoor area was a bad choice cuz once in a while there were some scammers trying to sell us very expensive fake flowers. But if you wanna eat near your hotel for the night then it’s fine I guess.

09/03/2026: If you're expecting glitz or luxury, this isn't the place, but if you're looking for enchantment and family, it is! Excellent cuisine, a feast for the palate and the eyes, quality products at reasonable prices, courteous and helpful service, perhaps a bit familiar in some ways, but that doesn't hurt. A welcoming location, without claiming to be better than the stunning natural scenery. If the next day you're talking about it with enthusiasm and a desire to return, it means you've had a wonderful time.

14/02/2026: A great find. Very helpful and friendly staff, a well-kept atmosphere, and delicious pizza. All in all, good value for money. We'll be back.

07/02/2026: Thirty-seven euros for two beers, a tiny portion of fried food, and a Margherita pizza and potato pizza. The pizzas were tiny, and considering they're Roman-style pizzas, you could barely eat them. They were also undercooked, and the potatoes were almost raw. The person who charged us at the cashier gave us change and hesitated to give us a receipt, which he only printed because he saw we weren't leaving. Definitely avoid if you're in Pomezia.
