The sunset view from San Domenico is simply breathtaking—one of those views that makes you pause for a moment before ordering, because you realize you're looking at something rare. That alone would be worth the visit. But the cuisine is no exception: the gnocchi with gurnard, snapper, strawberries, and chili pepper are an extraordinary dish—creativity, technique, and Calabrian terroir blend impeccably. Sweet, seafood, spicy. A balance few manage to achieve. The service is top-notch, attentive, and never intrusive. Special mention to Maria Concetta, whose professionalism and warmth made the evening even more enjoyable—the kind of welcome that makes you feel like a guest, not a customer. San Domenico plays in Serie A. One of the best restaurants on the Calabrian coast, without a doubt.

25/07/2026: During our stay in Tropea, we dined at Scacco Matto, and the experience was truly excellent. The restaurant is very well-maintained and welcoming, with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff was friendly, professional, and always available, making us feel welcome throughout the evening. We started with a delicious mussel soup, rich and flavorful, accompanied by croutons. For our first courses, we chose calamarata and rigatoni with fresh tuna, Tropea onions, and cherry tomatoes: both generous, well-prepared, and made with quality ingredients. Also not to be missed is the tuna alla Tropeana, tender and rich in flavor. Generous portions, carefully prepared dishes, and authentic flavors of Calabrian seafood cuisine. A restaurant that convinced us in every way and that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to eat well in Tropea. Congratulations to the entire staff!

The menu is extensive and offers something for everyone – whether you're looking for fish, meat, or an excellent, high-quality pizza. The value for money is outstanding. Despite the large number of customers, you're always served with warm Italian hospitality and friendliness. Every time we're in Tropea, we eat here at least twice, often even more often. A definite recommendation and an essential part of every Tropea vacation.

05/08/2026: We dined at this beautiful restaurant directly overlooking the Pizzo seafront. A historic building that exudes emotion even inside. A truly positive experience, the staff were truly competent and attentive, but what matters most, beyond "appearance," are the dishes. The fish was prepared beautifully! The fried octopus or the red shrimp tartare are highly recommended. As for the first courses, the seafood pasta or the paccheri with scampi are truly delicious. The tuna with Tropea onions is exceptional. A journey worth taking and losing yourself in.

The location is charming, as the restaurant, despite its very reasonable prices, is located across from the cathedral. The food is delicious: we ordered fried food and pasta, and both were impeccable. The fried food was generous and not greasy, and the pasta was very tasty! We also ordered a bottle of wine and several liqueurs recommended by the staff. Everything was exceptional! The staff is unique: kind, welcoming, and attentive. We'll definitely be back every time we pass through Tropea.
