27/07/2025: First wrote this review as criticism, now as a warning. Edit: Genuinely wondering if these responses are AI or not because of the ridicilousness. The owner basically admitted they lied and thought they got a point when I wrote what actually happened? That the truth came out, because I wrote what actually happened? The owner is very weird. This is how the owner greets every customer that doesn't give them 5 stars. Very childish, very immature owner. Maybe instead of insulting, they could've not responded, or taken action and take the criticism like a real business. Reviews exist for a reason, and it seems like the owner needs some classes in how online reviewing works and how it could affect ones business. Don't go here for your sake, you'll get dissapointed. Thankfully I'm never coming back and advising people to never go here, and looking forward for the eventual insults from the owner again because of this edit. Ciao! Responding to the owner (EDIT): Thank you for confirming how unprofessional you guys are. Instead of responding to criticisms, you instead lie about me and what I ordered and insulted me. I am not a girl, clearly a guy by my profile. We were not two girls, we were 5 people, a family. We didn't order 2 croissants, we ordered one croissant with pistachio and one cake in a cup. No one of us asked to switch croissants, I just put my plate with a half eaten croissant on the table and one of your servers didn't even ask to take the plate and instead tried taking it. And if you say you speak english, why don't you respond to me in English then? Clearly your business can't handle criticism since I am not the only one with complaints, and certainly not the only one who have received such a ridiculous response. You guys make Italy seem horrific if this service is what you claim is normal here. This place is a tourist trap with extremely rude staff. Original post: The staff were just unfriendly in general. Not a single smile across any of the staff. The woman working at the counter felt like she was ignoring us and told us to get out. We ordered croissant and another cake and sat inside. The food was good but not anything special. It felt like they were rushing us to eat and then told us multiple times to get out when we hadn't even finished our pastries. One of the staff tried taking my half eaten croissant that I hadn't finished, didn't even ask if I was finished. We always felt like they were staring at us and hoping we would leave, even turned up the volume of the music to where we couldn't hear each other speak. Staff was just very unprofessional. Also, I know English isn't so popular in Italy and I get that you can't really force staff to know English, but if you are situated in such a tourist heavy area then it would definitely be easier to communicate with your staff if they knew English.

27/07/2025: We had lunch before taking the ferry and were pleasantly surprised by the quality. The entrees were well-seasoned, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home, making the experience even more enjoyable.

24/07/2025: Excellent pizza, even gluten-free, but beware, this place isn't certified, so they cook all the pizzas at once, which isn't good! Even though the gluten-free pizza was in an aluminum pan and covered on top, I had to ask them to put it in the oven on its own... So we didn't have any problems... otherwise, go elsewhere.

19/07/2025: Prenotato alle H20 chiedendo di avere il tavolo fuori. Arrivati con un po'di ritardo (colpa nostra quindi), il tavolo non c'era. Ho segnalato di aver chiesto un tavolo fuori e mi è stato risposto in maniera davvero sgarbata dal responsabile con la giustificazione della pioggia. Per fortuna si erano appena alzate altre persone e ci siamo accomodati. Per dieci minuti circa nessuno ci ha considerato, nemmeno per portare il menù. Alla fine ho chiamato il cameriere per dirgli direttamente cosa volevamo. Per una pizza e un calzone...40 minuti di attesa mentre altri clienti, arrivati mezz'ora dopo di noi, hanno ricevuto le pizze in pochi minuti e prima di noi. Nessuno, dai camerieri al responsabile, ci hanno mai chiesto se fosse andato tutto bene. Per fortuna, almeno, la pizza era buona. Una volta era meglio.

31/07/2025: The place is very noisy, the neon lighting is aggressive, the prices are exorbitant, the food is normally good... the open wine at 8€ is really not good...

31/07/2025: I went on a Wednesday night with a friend to have the special of the house, pasta with lobster (€ 26 per portion), the menu clearly said the portion includes half lobster and even my friend got half lobster with their portion, but when mine came it only had one tiny piece not even a quarter. I complained and the waiters came with all sort of absurd excuses, shouting and putting their hands close to my face. It is not for a piece of lobster that I complain but they were very rude the place is famous and the food is good but they treat clients very poorly.

19/07/2025: We had pizza and everyone really liked it. The service is very kind and attentive. The prices are also reasonable. 🙂

18/07/2025: Phenomenal pizza and superb spaghetti all'assassina Friendly and welcoming staff :) Also try the beef tagliata: excellent!

26/07/2025: The food was good, but nothing special. I had Tagiatella di Monza and octopus. Both were okay. The wine was good.

25/07/2025: Our experience here was fantastic. Exceptional service, ice cold beer, beautiful wine, outstanding fresh seafood, and the view couldn’t be better. Highly recommended. What a gem!

06/07/2025: All good, good welcome, good service. The first courses were good, the mussel soup was good, we didn't take the second courses, but I was a bit surprised to see very little fried calamari, with small calamari... very disappointing... We went to this restaurant because it was recommended to us by 2 out of 3 people. The price seemed a bit too high to me. This is my opinion. Go but know that the fried food leaves much to be desired.

05/07/2025: Ordered swordfish mixed salad. Sparkling water.. the girl arrives with a water on tap, I immediately ask to change it with a sealed one, she brings bread and a small plate with an oily red substance, she puts it down and leaves, without describing the dish, what is it? Sweet, spicy? What does it contain? If one is celiac or intolerant? Zero knowledge, I noticed every time the kitchen door opened, the staff all without headphones, even people sitting at tables. Who came in and out at will, even behind the bar counter. Probably relatives.. No, it's not for me. This is the third one I've rejected at Le Castella, there aren't hundreds of them..

17/08/2025: Very kind staff, comfortable room, water available, slippers, bathroom products, air conditioning (be careful, all windows must be closed otherwise it jams), very good buffet breakfast, nice swimming pool (even if we didn't use it), parking....!!!

01/08/2025: Absolutely loved my stay here in Atessa! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, the breakfast was delicious every morning, and the rooms were spotless and beautifully kept. Would definitely come back! Thank you so much for beautiful expirenece

30/07/2025: We've dined at this restaurant twice, and it offers a wide selection of gluten-free dishes (including fresh pasta and pizza). The staff is quick, the restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and the price is fair for what they offer! Highly recommended! Excellent product quality!

25/07/2025: Highly recommended!! We enjoyed both the food and the pizza. Attention to detail and attention to raw materials. The first place we tried where the bread was top-notch, made in-house with ancient grains. Excellent service and attentiveness to guests... including my dog, who received top-notch service, a chair to curl up on, and fresh water poured straight from the bottle. 😂😂😂 We also met Mr. Tony, the restaurant's owner and chef, who was very helpful. Finally, the Sicilian cannoli are highly recommended 😋😋

17/07/2025: Located practically in the main square, easy to get to. Beautiful views across the valley. The atmosphere is warm, well-decorated, and peaceful. The owner is incredibly kind, friendly, and easygoing, especially attentive to children. The dishes are exquisite, all made with local, authentic ingredients, many of which are home-grown. The open kitchen allows us to see they make their own pasta. Prices are average, not excessive. Try it in the evening to enjoy the summer view and the cool mountain air. Highly recommended!

19/07/2025: Non è il solito calzone a cui sono abituata vale a dire morbido. Questo è duro e più piccolo ma devo dire una sorpresa. Saporito al punto giusto e morbido all’interno. Vale la pena provarlo. Personale molto gentile. Prezzo onesto

20/06/2025: Large Pizzeria Restaurant with both savory and sweet buffet. Friendly atmosphere and excellent service. A true oasis for lunch or dinner. Air conditioning, rich and appetizing dishes. Staff, I repeat, excellent, prepared and attentive. Definitely a place suitable for parties and receptions, but also for a simple pizza with friends. Prices really below average, without skimping on the quality of the dishes. This is why I highly recommend it. Ps: Large parking lot in front of the restaurant. A truly pleasant discovery. They will see me often, highly recommended to everyone.
