30/03/2025: The piadina was really good, the cleanliness inside the restaurant deserves a little bit more attention. Wanted to dine in, but then decided to take it “to go”.

02/02/2025: Unfortunately my experience at Rifugio Maria Consigliere was disappointing. We arrived after the climb with our dog, as we often do in the mountains, but we were told rather rudely that animals are not allowed inside. I understand that each refuge has its own rules, but the tone in which we were told was unwelcoming, almost annoyed by our presence. Additionally, the refuge is located in an area popular with hikers and nature lovers, many of whom bring their dogs with them. It would be the least to expect a little more openness or at least a dedicated area for those traveling with an animal. It's a shame, because the location is beautiful, but the hospitality leaves a lot to be desired. We definitely won't be going back or bringing lunch..

31/01/2025: I have been going there for some time now and I have always found a nice welcome, good service, honest prices, a comfortable environment. The refuge is run by volunteers and this makes it even more special given the efforts and dedication they put into it. For this reason alone it deserves the best because finding a place like this at the top is already a treasure. Thank you ☺️

04/02/2025: Its the first bar you would have seen once you arrived in this small town, the view is so nice like you’ve gotta blend in like the local. Their pain au chocolate with the half filling of crema is suprisingly soo gooood 😭

08/12/2024: Trattoria davvero speciale. Conduzione familiare. Tutto fatto in casa: consigliatissimi gli gnocchi di patate 😋. Oggi ho provato la cazzuola con polenta ho fatto il bis 😍. Torta e crostata fatte in casa oltre ad altri dessert. Davvero incomprensibili, ridicole le recensioni negative, vengo qui da 20 anni almeno 10 volte all’anno e mai, mai ho lasciato la trattoria non soddisfatta.

24/12/2024: Very bad experience, the staff was rude and rude. We were threatened with leaving the table if anyone else entered the bar because we ordered coffee, hot chocolate and herbal tea after hours (I didn't know there was a time when you could strictly have a coffee) so the waiter told us told if anyone saw us, we had to leave the table immediately. I and other people with me were treated with "feet" throughout the evening, shameful!. Furthermore, the prices were sky-high and unaffordable. I strongly advise against it!!!!

27/12/2024: Excellent place to spend the evening, I recommend it because here they serve really good pizzas, plentiful and with a variety of flavours. Very kind, nice and welcoming staff, very nice, clean and tidy environment. Ideal for organizing parties or even a dinner.

26/09/2024: Impecable service, except that it seems a little expensive to me, I ate 2 croissants (1 smooth and 1 chocolate), a peach juice and a cappuccino, paying 8 seems too much to me, but perhaps I didn't say anything because the place is now nice and tidy and also the attention to the customer, very welcoming, I recommend you more than that for this 👍

02/01/2025: Tuvimos un pequeño aperitivo y café aquí antes de hacer el camino Wayfayer a Bellano. El servicio era bueno y amable y está en una gran ubicación en frente del lago Varennas. Los pasteles que comimos eran sabrosos, pero fue decepcionado por el café decepcionante. Era un domingo por la tarde cuando visitamos y el menú era un poco limitado cuando visitamos. Con retrospectiva deberíamos haber tomado un jugo o algo así. No somos esnobs de café pero hemos tenido muchos una taza de Instant que era mejor que los que teníamos aquí.

09/11/2024: Pesima atencion, el cafe late maquiato es un cubo de leche. Tirado con mal gusto. 5 euros de mala leche. Es el peor trato recibido en un Local en Italia

06/04/2025: My wife and I went for an aperitif last night, we ordered two cocktails, one of the house and a mojito, with an aperitif dish and a portion of mixed fried seafood, and for dessert, panna cotta and two long coffees. The cocktails were excellent, but the Mojito was sublime. I always get a mojito everywhere and I must admit that I have had one this good very rarely. And the cocktail decorations are something superior and also beautiful to look at. The aperitif dish was plenty for one person and the mixed seafood platter was plenty for two people and was really delicious, not greasy or dry, fried and cooked just right. The extraordinary panna cotta with the delicious berry topping and the espresso coffee with the taste of real Italian espresso. We were served by a lady and a boy, very professional, helpful and friendly, we felt very good and in fact we spent a wonderful evening eating in a restaurant overlooking the long lake, a strategic point and a wonderful view, with dishes that left an excellent taste in our mouths. If we ever return to the area we will definitely be back. I thank the lady and the boy who served us and the chef for the food.

12/01/2025: We had a quiet lunch, everyone was very courteous, they had so much consideration for our little girl for whom they prepared a plate of pasta with the sauce which she devoured. We have very good risotto and casoncelli. Location on the lake.

05/04/2025: Putting a platter with fried gnocchi on the menu for two people is equivalent to having a tray full of cold cuts and with only 4 fried gnocchi or a lot of haste and only two gnocchi each... It doesn't really make any sense

15/04/2025: I stopped into this little place for lunch when I visited Bellano in March! I had a spritz and the salmon penne, which was super yummy! The staff were very kind and provided great service.

01/04/2025: Amazing you can take a walk between rocks and water....it's worth a visit....and then after that there is the long lake where you can rest and eat

08/03/2025: We came for dinner on 03/06/2025. The pizzas were very tasty at a fair price. The service and kindness is perhaps the best you have ever encountered. The lady serving was always kind and smiling. He saw all our wishes. You could learn about hospitality from him. The next time we are there, we will definitely eat here again.

24/03/2025: Excellent service and delicious food. You are greeted by the owner and he helps you on choosing the wine. Diego was an excellent waiter. We really enjoyed our dinner here.

11/11/2024: One of the only rooftop restaurants we could find in Varenna. While the atmosphere was beautiful overlooking Lake Como, the food came short. We weren’t impressed with the pastas, and we had ordered a bottle of hard cider that had gone bad. We did however enjoy the peaches and cream dessert. The servers were trying to rush us out as we were dining late, seemed to be a trend as most of Varenna closes down early.
