08/09/2025: Dear Hotel Playa Team, We would like to thank you very much for the wonderful stay at your hotel. We particularly enjoyed the location directly by the sea and in the shopping area, which made for a relaxing holiday. The room was always clean, and the food in the hotel restaurant was very delicious. We would especially like to praise the excellent service, from the manager himself to the entire team. We always felt well looked after and were provided with many useful tips for excursions in the surrounding area. The parking in front of the door at a fair price of €8 per day was also very convenient. Overall, we were completely satisfied and are already looking forward to our next visit to the Hotel Playa. 16/08/2025: The historic establishment is now run by Chinese people. We drank the schekerato coffee there, not bad but nothing special. The counter was rather messy, with dirty glasses, etc. For two: €6.

20/10/2025: Very cool place. If we hadn't had a restaurant reservation, we could have spent the rest of the evening here. We had two of these little pintxos, and both were delicious!

05/10/2025: Rude staff. They ask for a €2 deposit for a glass even if you're inside. I don't recommend it; they won't give you anything with a spritz.

01/10/2025: I had lunch with my husband and on top of that the waiting times were very long, the food arrived all cold and a little inside the grill on top of the potatoes... we spent a fortune and we didn't even eat well... I will never go back again and I don't even recommend it!!!

23/05/2025: Nuestro grupo de siete fue al Gattino Bianco para probar la comida marina. A todos nos encantó y volvimos a cenar la segunda noche. Nuestro camarero, Luigi era muy servicial y pacientemente explicó nuevos artículos que aparentemente se añaden al menú fijo a medida que la captura fresca está disponible. Las comidas estaban muy bien preparadas y sabrosas. Los precios también eran muy razonables. Lo único que lamentamos es que nos fuimos de la Toscana al día siguiente y no pudimos volver.

14/07/2025: I've been ordering all the time now. Always very kind and helpful on the phone. Deliveries are almost always on time. Fantastic pizzas; I've tried many of them. The best in Viareggio. (Probably my favorite in winter.) The specialty pizzas are also very popular (Halloween, Christmas, etc.).

15/06/2025: Always friendly, always on time. Good and digestible pizza, for a takeaway it's a lot of stuff. With this pizzeria you're on the safe side 👍🏻

11/10/2025: We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of friends who described it as a simple yet authentic place, with generous portions and fair prices. Unfortunately, our experience was the exact opposite. The place is modest, a bit old-fashioned from the '70s and '80s, and we entered with the best of intentions. I even joked with the waiter, asking if the portions were really large, and he assured me they were "generous." Too bad that wasn't true. The house appetizer consisted of three tiny samples, clearly prepared some time ago. The grilled fish didn't even weigh 150 grams—including the shrimp carcasses—and the sea bream all'isolana was perhaps 100 grams of real fish. The zucchini served on the side were sour, probably cooked in poor-quality white wine: I, who am usually not picky, couldn't eat them. Final bill: €60, without wine, just a bottle of still water. Overall, a disappointing experience in every way. A place to forget.

04/10/2025: Charming restaurant. Delicious antipasti. Delicious fish dishes. Pleasant white wine. Extremely friendly and efficient service. Everything was excellent.

19/08/2025: After an afternoon at the beach, we stopped for dinner. It was a lovely surprise; we dined by the sea. The service was quick, the staff was friendly, and the seafood risotto was truly excellent. I'm giving it 5 stars and looking forward to another dinner to try other dishes.

15/08/2025: What a shame. The staff was kind, but the kitchen was out of order on August 15th. The menu had a choice of three appetizers, three first courses, and three second courses, and it was unbearable. Arriving at 12:30, we ate the last course at 3:00 PM. The ingredients were frozen. The staff, though very embarrassed, were kind. With those ingredients and that service (meaning the kitchen) it was expensive even at half the price. What do I know? I eat at restaurants for lunch and dinner every day and have even worked in the industry. 2 out of 3 diners reluctantly gave up their second course. I had to apologize to my guests. #SHAME

20/10/2025: Terrible lunch. There were two of us; we ordered a super clam (x2) and a mixed fried fish. More than 40 minutes after ordering, the spaghetti arrived. Most likely, the pasta water hadn't been salted, and the clams were 100% defrosted. Next came the mixed fried fish... among the worst I've ever eaten. It was soaked in oil.

19/10/2025: Two hours to eat a first course... pasta allo scogio full of sand and we found a piece of plastic inside... terrible service for sure the first and last time

24/08/2025: A great place. Although it doesn't look like much from the outside, it changes dramatically once you walk in the door. We stopped there on our way to Tuscany. I recommend the steaks, antipasti, and Aperol. Very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is typical of a provincial Italian place. We'll be back ❤️❤️❤️

16/08/2025: I went for lunch on August 15th. The appetizer was average, the first course, the spelt, I found a fly in it, but I didn't say anything, the other first course was just okay, nothing special. The dessert was awful. The service was horrible. There was a rude, unpleasant brunette waitress. When I asked what desserts they had, she very resentfully told me that she also wanted to know what desserts we had, as if I'd asked for the moon. I've been a waiter for almost twenty years, and I have to say she's fine cleaning toilets, not waitressing. She should be thankful that I let go of her arrogant and rude attitude. The atmosphere is mostly dirty.
