19/05/2025: Last night in Lucca, the 2 of us decided to go out and found this restaurant .Looked lovely and got seated with order taken fast. Large groups came in after we had ordered and noticed about 30 minutes later they were getting their food and we had still not received ours. In total we sat for around 45 minutes with no food. When we looked over to the waiters they seemed to be shocked and ran off to get the order started. When it finally arrived. Keeping in mind it was a simply dish with no meats, it was extremely plain and they forgot our side dishes. Would not be returning!

09/05/2025: Had an excellent meal in lovely quality atmosphere. The food was excellent. Surprised by some of the other reviews. Seems like others are in a rush. It was a little slow, perhaps, but isn't that was Italian dining is all about - taking time and soaking up the atmosphere. Personally I had a lovely delicious meal and would go back.

07/05/2025: Il Rifugio Isera è il mio posto del cuore. Cibo squisito (direi imbattibile), panorama incredibile e un’atmosfera che ti fa staccare davvero. I gestori sono ragazzi fantastici, e ti fanno respirare quell’aria sincera che ormai è rara da trovare. Che ci venga per una grigliata, una camminata o solo per stare in pace, so che non mi delude mai. Se non ci sei mai stato, vacci.

07/05/2025: Sono stata diverse volte in questo rifugio con amici, sia con l’opzione del pernottamento in tenda che in stanza. Che dire ogni volta è sempre un’esperienza meravigliosa. L’ambiente è incantevole, una bolla che ti allontana dalla realtà e la frenetica quotidianità. Il rifugio Isera in ogni occasione ci ha sempre coccolato. Il personale è premuroso e disponibile, attento a ogni tipo di esigenza. Danno la disponibilità addirittura dei propri barbecue per lo svolgimento di grigliate autonome. Ma se passate di qui, assaporate anche le pietanze del ristorante, con le ricette tradizionali e i prodotti della Garfagnana. La colazione non è da meno: crostate fatte da loro e yogurt veramente eccezionali. Molto disponibili anche ad ascoltare e ad accogliere le varie intolleranze/esigenze alimentari. Io sono intollerante al glutine e non ho mai avuto problemi comunicandolo. Consigliatissimo!!

18/05/2025: I used to go there when I was little and I'm really sorry to say it but now I think that the only hope for the pizzeria is a change of management, a run-down, dirty place, mediocre pizza and rude service, the only positive note is the focaccia that I got fresh from the oven and it's very good (shame that they only make 3 a day)

16/06/2025: Aperifish excellent! 15€ spritz accompanied by mixed fried food and chips. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. The only flaw was that they served us the spritz before asking us if it was aperol or campari.

Tutto delizioso dall antipasto ai secondi, crudi eccellenti e freschissimi! ASSOLUTAMENTE DA PROVARE E VIVERE! Emozioni in tavola,mare in bocca.

20/06/2025: tonight, Friday 20 June 2025, I went to this restaurant with 3 other friends of mine for dinner, and the place was already very busy, but on top of that the food (4 pizzas😅) was served to us after about three quarters of an hour, really a wait that was too long and unjustified since people who arrived after us were served with less time than us, seeing us forced to evaluate in this way.

13/05/2025: Molti ne dicevano male. Mia figlia invece c’è stata a cena più di una volta. Abbiamo esperienza di posti così, dove si pranza a menù pressoché fisso a prezzi stracciati per pranzi di lavoro. Oggi il locale era pieno, operai pensionati giovani coppie e famiglie. Locale caratteristico all’interno della cittadella dove ogni anno i viareggini allestiscono i loro carri carnevaleschi. 58€ in tre per mangiare due piatti di tortelli al ragù, un enorme fritto misto di pesce (bello asciutto e saporito con patatine), panzerottini fritti, pane, acqua, dessert Versilia per due e tiramisù, con tre caffè finali. Il vino era compreso ma non lo abbiamo voluto. Rapidi gentili indaffarati (era stracolmo il locale), piatti caldissimi fatti al momento a regola d’arte anche se senza grosse pretese. Ci teniamo a scrivere questo perché molti commenti sono pesantemente negativi. Ci parevi giusto dire la nostra opinione!!! Per quel prezzo….
