21/09/2025: On the recommendation of friends, we went to this osteria. The dish we had to try was the Chianti risotto. Our expectations were very high, and we can say they were fully met. It's an unexpected dish (in the realm of pici and lasagna), and we'd definitely recommend it. Be warned, cinnamon is one of the ingredients. We'll be back on our next visit to Cortona.

06/10/2025: This restaurant is nestled in one of the most photographed alleys in Cortona and represents everything you think about Italy, character, beauty, and uniqueness. The food and drinks are all prepared to the highest quality and originality. Vegetarian entrees elevated on both flavor profile and plating. The creativity of each entree are truly noteworthy. There were six in our party which allowed for each of us to try a different option and share with each other. My favorite is the tartare, both visually and taste profile, it's fireworks on a plate, it just makes you happy looking at it and eating it continues that happiness. I highly recommend this restaurant for your consideration.

03/01/2026: Too expensive for a place in the middle of nowhere

31/12/2025: We went for a family dinner, and unfortunately, many of us were disappointed because the fillet was very tough. Given that the price was higher than average, we expected better quality. My husband, however, was very pleased with the cut of steak, which was very tender and juicy. I had the smoked gnocchi, which were quite good. The others had tiramisu for dessert, and they were also disappointed, as it wasn't at all like tiramisu, but rather a kind of mousse with lots of cream. What can I say? My husband enjoyed it and will definitely be back for the steak. As for the rest, given the poor quality of the fillets and steak cuts, perhaps it would be best to at least reconsider the prices.

16/09/2025: Incredible family experience, surpassed only by the good service and facilities, the beds could be improved (the springs were already in need of replacement) But it is a minor detail compared to the good service, the incredible location and the great breakfast, 5 stars

09/09/2025: Fantastic location surrounded by greenery. Spotlessly clean and spacious rooms. Kind and punctual receptionist. Excellent breakfast and perfect location. I would just add a bottle of water upon arrival and eliminate mosquitoes from the garden by the pool. Otherwise, it's paradise.

14/02/2026: A truly warm and welcoming place. Very kind and polite service. After a reasonable wait of 15-20 minutes, we ate excellent Peruvian food. After the obligatory mopping up of the plates, we left our plates practically clean 😜. Generous portions and excellent prices. Highly recommended! Compliments to all the staff.

14/02/2026: Looking for a last-minute dinner, we stumbled upon this place by chance. It was fully booked, but there was a table available for at least an hour, so we decided to stop anyway, not knowing where else to go at that hour. We were greeted and served with such kindness. We ordered chicken, tacos, vegetables, and potatoes. They were truly delicious and well-prepared, offering new flavors. If we return to Cortona, we will definitely book a table in advance to enjoy other dishes. Thanks to the staff for welcoming us at the last minute.

13/01/2026: This place was so serene and quiet this time of year (late December). The staff was attentive and accommodating and the food... so good! Worth staying here for couples. I would say it's romantic. But, we also saw a couple of young families. You will be spoiled if you stay here. We will never get a better breakfast spread anywhere. They set the bar high!

03/01/2026: We stayed in this splendid location for three nights over New Year's Eve 2025. The beauty of the relais, its rooms—particularly the exquisite furnishings—the Renaissance hall used for the New Year's Eve dinner, and the kindness of the staff (concierge, property manager, and waiters) are offset by some shortcomings that, for those who have stayed there, are unbecoming of a 5-star property: • I'll start with the most problematic and disappointing aspect: the sofa bed my son slept on, to whom I gave the double bed. The sofa bed is extremely uncomfortable, and you can clearly feel the bars on your back, resulting in a terrible quality of sleep. If we had known that a proper, comfortable extra bed wasn't available—as stated in the email I have—we wouldn't have stayed with the children. It's true that reporting this after the first night might have allowed for a partial solution, but one night would still have been lost. Given the price and category of the property, this is unacceptable, and a sofa bed of this type should not be provided or offered under any circumstances. • One of the rooms belonging to the family traveling with us had an exposed electrical outlet, with only a cover and no plate. • The bathroom in our room (a classic suite) does not have a bidet. • Upon our arrival, the welcome bottle had been forgotten; the staff, always extremely kind, apologized and promptly remedied the situation. • A cup used for tea the previous day remained on the bedside table even after the room had been tidied, without being removed or replaced. It was replaced on the second day. • There are no coat hooks: we had to leave our jackets on chairs and beds in an improvised manner. • Breakfast was poor and of mediocre quality. The cakes were good, but the croissants were unpresentable, even for a 2-star hotel. That said, for those who have previously stayed in properties of this category, we definitely do not consider this a 5-star hotel. I do not recommend it for value for money or for families with children.

24/10/2025: Sartù is a tiny hidden gem down an alley that you wouldn’t notice unless you appeared down and saw some tables outside on the steps. But boy am I happy I went in there thanks to my host and TripAdvisor. This is a one chef one server restaurant at least in the fall months. The menu had the most delectable titles of dishes. My ravioli dish with red sauce (a rarity in Cortona) and ricotta and other cheeses was titled something like “when everything good comes together and is nice.” Hilarious and true. I also had a dish with a round of pork covered in local vegetables that felt like it had been cooked in a stewing pot. It was the most delicious thing I’ve eaten all week. And not stereotypically Tuscan cuisine like most of the other restaurants in town, though they did have some staples like the Chianina and white beans.

24/09/2025: Wow—what a hidden gem! Sartu absolutely blew us away. The steak was simply delicious (paired perfectly with an order of carrots), but what really took things over the top was the deconstructed cannoli—hands down one of the most unique and memorable desserts I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is incredibly intimate, with only 18 seats total. We felt so welcomed, and even the chef came out personally to say hello, which made the experience extra special. It truly feels like dining in a private kitchen rather than a restaurant. If you’re lucky enough to snag a reservation, you’re in for a treat. Highly recommend—this is a place you’ll never forget.

15/02/2026: We dined at Il Falconiere about four months ago, with high expectations given its Michelin star and long-standing presence in the Michelin Guide. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The dishes were adequate but completely average, lacking the refinement and personality expected from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The most serious complaint concerns the wine service: the sommelier appeared visibly upset, displaying unprofessional behavior and attitudes that made us feel uncomfortable throughout the entire explanation of the pairings. This was an embarrassing and unacceptable situation for a restaurant of this caliber. Overall, a huge disappointment.

23/01/2026: My husband and I came here for lunch back in October. The setting and the ambiance of this restaurant were both outstanding. The dining room is light and bright with an absolutely incredible view and some vaguely Alice in wonderland vibes. For food we opted to do the à la carte option as I preferred to do the vegetarian items (though I’m not a vegetarian) and you had to do the same tasting menu across the entire table. Truthfully, I found my dishes to be too rich and just ok while my husband’s courses were pretty wonderful. The coffee pici pasta and wild boar tortelli were specific stand outs. Wonderful experience in an idyllic location but would go with the non vegetarian options if we were to go back.

24/10/2025: Welcoming place with very polite staff... always a smile for the customer... and extremely clean... excellent breakfasts and lunches... the food is top notch and the food is delicious at affordable prices for everyone!!! Bistro 51 is a guarantee!!!

26/09/2025: We went there with some friends to eat a pizza, which I would describe as really good: not thick, well-topped, crispy, excellent, whether Kamut, wholemeal or wheat flour. The place is often full, I would recommend booking, large parking and quality service, I can only recommend it, obviously there are not only pizzas but you can eat everything and with satisfaction.
